Thanks! It's been so long, I actually don't remember what values I chose for the potentiometers or tone capacitor. In stead of wiring it the way John Lennon's would have been, I wired the middle pickup to its own volume pot so I can have any pickup combination, and then I just have one master tone pot. The pickups that came with this guitar were Chinese humbuckers made to look like toaster pickups, but I replaced them with a set of Chinese Alnico single coil toaster look-alike pickups, and I also replaced the toaster covers with much shallower ones. I had also ordered a pair of genuine RIC toasters, but I ended up putting them in my RIC 360/12. Thanks for watching! :)
Mine just has the 6 saddles with two string notches each. I've thought about upgrading to a 12 saddle bridge someday for precise intonation and I probably will eventually, but I'm not too worried about it for now. After all, George Harrison's didn't have perfect intonation. :)
@@Control_Room genuine 360/12 string comes with only a 6 saddle bridge? Wow I expect a higher standard from Rickenbacker, their 12 string guitar is impossible to intimate with only 6 saddles! Playing with poor intonation should be an artistic choice, not something Rickenbacker forces you into.
@@christothegreat1 I agree. I don't even think their vibrato-equipped guitars come stock with a roller bridge anymore, though I could be wrong about that. And they've only fairly recently started shipping their 4003 basses with a redesigned bridge. It seems like they haven't really innovated much in decades, aside from changing their finishing process to comply with new laws. I know they keep their operation relatively small compared to other big guitar manufacturers like Fender, and they're allegedly so back-logged with orders for their 60s-style guitars that they have little room to come out with new designs. I know another complaint people have with their 12 strings is that the nut width is too narrow, and only the Pete Townshend signature model has a wider nut. I personally find my 360/12 comfortable to play, but I think people should have the option to get a more "modern" nut width without buying an artist signature model. Luthiers don't seem to be too crazy about the double truss-rod situation either... It'd be nice if they'd address some of these things for the money they're asking for those instruments! I can't complain because I bought my 360/12 used for a good deal, and my Rush-signed 1984 4003 was a gift. I just checked the RIC website, and it looks like even the 2023 360/12s come with a 6-saddle bridge. They offer a 12-saddle bridge separately for $125, but it really should come standard at this point.
I got it from AliExpress, the stock photo they used didn't look so good but I was willing to take a risk since it was so cheap. In the photo, it looked like the headstock angle was more Gibson-like, and the routing near the tailpiece didn't look accurate, but the guitar I received was way better than the picture. Also, I messaged the seller asking if they could make it with the correct headstock angle (I think 5 degrees but I don't remember). I didn't get any response from the seller but the guitar did arrive with the correct headstock angle. I was expecting it would take months to arrive but it arrived in about 9 days if I remember. Your mileage may vary, and a lot of sellers use the exact same stock photos and descriptions. I would try to find a seller that has previously sold a lot of them and has good ratings and reviews. Take it with a grain of salt though, because a lot of sketchy sellers have fake reviews and ratings on their profile... I've bought two AliExpress guitars and so far my experience has been pretty good, especially for my Chibson.
I was contemplating buying an AliExpress guitar or something from "rareelectricguitar" for years but I've heard horror stories about getting ripped off, or having your order confiscated by customs. Overall I'm glad I finally decided to do it. There are still some guitars that I'd be interested in getting Chinese clones of, like a Rickenbacker 4080 or some other overly expensive guitar that I wouldn't use very often, or something so rare and precious that I wouldn't ever want to bring it out of the house, to a gig or to a friend's house or whatever.
I've wanted a Ric for a long time, had an Encore 330 (Fireglo)which was great for the money but alas had to sell. Have yearned for a Jetglo ever since. I can't justify spending the £2,000 or so on a real Ric,I'm very tempted by the copies on Aliexpress but am so unsure?
That's kind of how I've felt. I've wanted a jetglo 325 since I was little, but I can't justify the price for such a niche guitar that I probably wouldn't use that much. If I were rich, I'd absolutely buy one, but for now, I like to get by with budget stuff. This Aliexpress copy was a gift for my fiance, and I'm considering getting one for myself eventually. It's a much lower risk than paying over $2,000 for the real deal, plus since it's not the real deal, you don't have to feel bad about customizing it, losing it, damaging it, etc. I was nervous about buying a Chinese fake for years. I've heard so many horror stories about getting ripped off, or having the guitar seized by customs. But the two fakes that I've purchased from Aliexpress turned out great and I would definitely buy another! Particularly when it comes to models that are normally so absurdly expensive or rare, like Wal basses, Rickenbacker 4080 doublenecks, or replicas of highly customized guitars like Mike Rutherford's doublenecks.
@@Control_Room Thank you so much for the info. Tokai released a few copies about 8 years ago and they were really good. I actually was holding a Tokai "Rockinbetter" 4001 bass copy in fireglo for £300 in a music shop and because I could buy it I didn't want it and left it, then years later regret it. I did the same with an Epiphone Casino and put it back!!
You've got a Marshall Club and Country!!!! Looks to be in good shape too. Nice job on the fake Ricky. Seems like it came out well. Keep it up.
I appreciate that!! I definitely have to make a video about the Club & Country sometime.
Nice collection. I just finished building my own Rickenbacker 350 using a bolt on neck and Telecaster Tex-Mex pickups. It is quite unique.
Nice, that sounds like a cool combination!
Good for you. I like bolt on necks for easy of maintenance. Also, if you want to shim the neck for height and tilt, it is possible.
What have you done to the electronics mi friend?
Amazing sound

Fantastic guitar sounds good
Thanks for watching!
if you’re trying to approximate the Lennon 325 sound, you really gotta use flat wounds and play through a clean amp.
The sound demo really didn't give an idea of what the guitar sounds like
man sounds great yo
Thanks!
Does your 360/12 bridge have 12 saddles, each with individual height screws and intonation position screws?

@@Control_Room is your 360/12 genuine Rick, or a Chickenbacker?
@@christothegreat1 My 360/12 is genuine, from 2006 or 2010, I don't remember.
