Please never stop making these! It dry mops so well that the cloth gets very dusty from doing just one, seemingly spotless room. I run it every day in all rooms and am considering retiring the noisy, clumsy vacuum robot, and get one more braava 390t instead. All I have to do is sweep up large debris and clean the cloths. Besides, this little robot is cute, doubles as cat entertainment and does not blow dust around - love it :)

+nathan tech Depends. What kind and how much liquid spills on the floor. Because if the robot works with a pre soaked cleaning blue mop, and uses an tank with water or cleaning solution, the mop will not be dry to clean this tipe of dirt. I think this should be an iRobot Scooba's work.

i own seven of these units, a mix of the old EVO/Mint and Irobot. (edited to add 2021: one for each room)
all tile floors, clean whole house on Saturday. yes, the washable white "dust rag" really does pick up all the crud/dust/hair. (edited to add 2021: i now prefer the swiffer heavy duty fluffy pads to get in the tile cracks )
damp dust with blue "wet rag" after, if needed. i do not use the water receptacle pad, i simply use the normal blue pad and a bottle filled with WATER ONLY, spray directly on the tile floor to keep the rag wet or damp or slightly damp. straight lines, not mopping action. i rarely use the mopping function-- usually only in the kitchen-- it's good and effective, but mopping uses a lot of battery.
this is a wiper, not a vacuum. no robotic vacuum or wiper will pick up huge chunks, cat kibble, cat litter, or leaves. pre-clean utter grossness and spills. (edited to add: they keep clean floors clean) i have pets (cat barf, unexpected messes) so i inspect floors carefully before starting the machines. i also don't leave robots unattended.
a warning to those with hardwood floors, can't leave a wet bot on the floor, pick it up right away.
need the replace the batteries about once every two years. buy from I-robot, not ebay. the ebay batteries are junk. if the bot is losing its mind, change internal battery.
also replacement rags from I robot. the ebay rags confuse the machines. too stretchy.
about once a year you will find you need to take off the back panel and clean out the wheel wells. if the bot hesitates, like huh, huh, huh, huh clean out the wheel wells.
bot proof your house by picking up chairs, obstacles, wires. raise up troublesome furniture on 2x4 blocks so the bot can fit underneath. if your house is cluttered, bots won't work for you. figure out trouble areas to make bots work for you.

      @jackmackerel4151 5 лет назад +1

Also helps to be good at trouble shooting and fixing things, but if you are cleaning robots are for you, I enjoy tinkering and maintaining devices much more than cleaning. They also motivate you to declutter and pick up items that get left around the house. Also some of the amazon batteries seem to have similar if not better failure rates than the robot ones at a fraction of the price, time will tell. Just don't ever leave a cleaning robot not on the charger unless you remove the battery first.

It was even still selling as mint under your company, why change it and advertise a product that you didn't change in design? If the design was different, this would be more acceptable. unfortunately this is not possible on Braava models, because you have to set the tipe of cleaning mode and also use the gps cube. Also you have to clean the mop so you avoid spread the same dirty for all your floors. It really doesn't make sense to have schedule program on Braava models once you have to make part of each cicle.

If it mops in large area without obstacle, it seems it work better but still stops randomly but less. I checked its diagnostic tests and found nothing wrong. I have to bought a new one it just works like normal. So, it has nothing wrong with the guiding cube either. So, it seems you have to buy a new one after 5 years even it looks normal

You can only safely use water on them, which this mopper can do, but you have to be careful to use very soft mopping materials on marble so that they don’t score it or scratch it up. Is there some particular cloth accessory that’s safe to use on marble for damp mopping?

I'm also kind of wondering why they don't utilize that Northstar cube for Roombas and Scoobas so they don't make excessive passes over the same spots in certain areas, and can thus cover more floor on a charge.

nathan tech It's a mop. It cleans up spills to the extent a mop would. It does have a back and forth motion when using a wet mop though.

When are you gonna make a female robot cleaning maid?

what a rip off. I am losing faith in iRobot very quickly. A better move would have been to take the technology in the Mint and apply it to a lawn mowing robot. They don't need this product and it will surely cause more unneeded confusion in the market.

Predecessor to scooba, much better than scooba. I had, have both.

@@ladykemma3 it can't be much better, Scooba's brush clean floors much much better than braava, preps the floor, and Scooba can also dry the floor. And it will left just clean floor, and Scooba removes more than 99% of all bacteria, Braava is just pushing all of that stuff around...

Horrible... Horrible.... Horrible experience with this product and irobot customer service.
If you were not aware, this product fails miserably on carpets or rugs that have light and dark areas together. The unit is unable to deal with the contrast and your carpet will not be cleaned. You will only discover this shortcoming AFTER you purchase the item.. They won't warn you and risk losing your business. This means you need to vacuum by hand, which defeats the purpose. IRobot knows all about this and is working on a new model. Pretty sad that this is the best they could do and knowingly decided to pawn this off on customers.
It also gets stuck easily under furniture meaning the job won't be done when you get home.
Other than that, it works fine on other surfaces.

      It's a floor wiper. Not a vacuum.
