Every time you make a new Digitone video it sends me into an all-day spiral of rediscovering why it's my favorite piece of kit. Appreciate the hell out of it~
Love the sound, love the features, love the UI... just not too fond of how the Elektron workflow pushes the user toward short loop-based compositions. I tried for a long time to use a Digitakt as the center of my studio, composing everything on it... but it's really not designed for songs longer than a pattern or two. It's built more as a performance instrument where the user morphs a single pattern real-time. So now I try not to reach for my Elektron gear until after I've got a melody laid out. That way I don't get stuck in a loop... and I can still use it for what it's good at.
This is inspiring. I kind of wrote off FM since I'm a Moog sound guy but this... changed my mind. Please keep doing these. Some of us need to learn how to synth from scratch with all the details and no magic.
Like someone said upthere... each of yours DN vids just explains to myself why i’m so in love with that box. Combine with my Minitaur is getting so sweeeet
OMG ! @19:00. Genius pattern. To me this is exactly the sweet spot of the DN - real time sound design as you are producing. Then CTRL ALL for performance. Just superb - both machine and composer/performer. Great work. Love it ! 👏👍😁
The arp function is a beast. It feels very much like a sequencer you’d see in a modular set up. The ability to change the length is such a game changer for creating polyrhrythms.
This was amazing. I love my Digitone. It’s the only hardware I have I can sit down with, no other gear, and just lose myself all the way in it. And I get soooo much inspiration and knowledge from watching your work with it. Thank you!
So cool. I just got one of these and am eager to not just learn it, but master it. I was amazed at what I got from it the first session, so it can only get better when I actually understand the thing. Thanks Jeremy!
My digitone keys arrives in a week, and I'm putting together a list of sound design videos to get me started. This looks like it's going to be top of the list. Thanks Jeremy, this is beautiful.
Pretty sure I spaced out and ended up driving a DeLorean into an orange and pink sunset with vibrate grid lines....I think I need to smoke 😅. Thanks for always showing the fun in making music. You are the Bob Ross of beeps and boops.
Just a great video. I need to dive back into my Digitone again and try out some of your examples here. A great track, I could listen to that all day! Thanks Jeremy, please keep the Digi tutorials of this nature coming!
love this series, J ☺️ would LOVE (because it’s not really covered much AND know you’d do rad things with it) to see use of the multi-map possibilities
Thanks so much for this Jeremy. If it wasn't for all you ingenious RUclipsrs I would only have the tiny Digitone manual to go by! There are so many Easter eggs in this box, it's amazing.
Been looking forward to this video since I saw the first one. Your commentary throughout made me feel like I was watching Bob Ross. Great work! Would love to eventually see how you marry these tracks with the Digitakt.
Oh dear, I was going to wait to buy the Digitone as a partner for my Digitakt after all.... but after this video it's getting harder and harder.... Jeremy, you are a Wizard. Many thanks 😊.
Wow this is fantastic! I keep wondering what to get - a Digitakt or Digitone. This made it harder to decided...love these tones, and just how complex the tones you got here!
Jeremy, it's really cool that you share this kind of process in a video. Can you talk out loud in videos like this, how do you decide/think about frequency conflicts when choosing timbres? With synthesizers like these, it is very easy to make the sound muddy. I downloaded your pattern pack for digitone. I was amazed that you always get a crystalline sound
Wow.. I need to make a year of pause with music production - now, when Im do hyped.. but your productions show me what is all about, why is worth and what matters. Thanks!
…fantastic, also there this little pieces of sound like dulcimer chopping…are there videos of you, where you explain the basics of those electronic monster dwarfs?
Hooray for frequency modulation! Today I made a synthesis engine from scratch, and then modulated the frequencies to make some fun sounds. It was a good exercise. Nowhere near as cool as a Digitone though. :) (I just wanted my notebook's PC speaker to beep when stuff happens, but the hardware shuts it off when audio is playing... so I wrote a replacement virtual beeper which plays through the primary sound chip)
Got very very sick around 19min!

"You're a good friend"
It makes me feel somewhat better that I'm not the only one who makes friends with inanimate objects.
It's disgusting how fun you make the process, and how damn good the end result is

Ive been longing for demo like this about Digitone in synthwave/darkwave, so thank you!
Hey man, unbelievable. Thanks for these awesome from scratch tutorials, wow! I am quite new to digitone, this is gold!!
Well done! The Digitone and Digitakt rarely leave my desk--I think Elektron found that magical balance between complexity and accessibility.
This is inspiring. I kind of wrote off FM since I'm a Moog sound guy but this... changed my mind.

Jist bought the Digitone and learnt so much with this viď. Thank you
Was it this one or another - 'No rules'. No rules, but there are concepts - and, man alive, you convey those so well.

Sounding great! More Elektron videos please :)

Wow! How effortlessly you sculpt sounds. FM to me is simply rolling a dice and hope I hit the 6. I didn't realize you had this superpower AS WELL!
Love this Digitone series. Really showcases how to get great tones and timbres out of this little beast.
It’s always a delight when you grab us by the hand and make us jump so deep into these explorations. Can’t wait to receive mine next week. Big hugs!!
This was amazing. I love my Digitone. It’s the only hardware I have I can sit down with, no other gear, and just lose myself all the way in it. And I get soooo much inspiration and knowledge from watching your work with it. Thank you!
I just got my digi Toné! Can’t wait to try this out, Thanks Jeremy!
Your Digitone videos sold it to me last year. Can't wait to reunite with it (it's sailing across the ocean now)
So cool. I just got one of these and am eager to not just learn it, but master it. I was amazed at what I got from it the first session, so it can only get better when I actually understand the thing. Thanks Jeremy!
This is why DN is the best synth of the century. Love your work man.
Thank you for this Jeremy! I love you and the Digitone

"Find stuff that you like the sound of and do stuff with it" ~ Explorative journeys couldn't be more simply said.
If I ever think of selling my Digitone because I'm GASing for some cool new thing, I will come back and watch this video again.
I really like the sound that comes in at about 10:50 - very trancy.
Love it
Anddd I'm back to wanting one of these lol
Wow this is fantastic! I keep wondering what to get - a Digitakt or Digitone. This made it harder to decided...love these tones, and just how complex the tones you got here!

This is so effin cool, man. I gotta get me a Digitone. So much gear, so little money lol.
This is cool, reminds me a little of Aril Brikha
This was awesome Jeremy. I’m picking one of these bad boys up today thanks to you and Matt aka @ezbot 🙌🌐🌐🌐
This reminds me so much of the music from the game A Robot Named Fight!
Oh nice

Fantastic FM algorytmh, greaa sounds :-D
Fantastic. Makes me want to play Ecco the Dolphin.
19:04 did you come? No this was really great. I started diving into this machine after each workday. It’s so great.
Best pasta based synth in the game.
Wow.. I need to make a year of pause with music production - now, when Im do hyped.. but your productions show me what is all about, why is worth and what matters. Thanks!
WOW!
“It’s like daft punk’s version of Pink Floyd’s ‘On the Run’” lol
…fantastic, also there this little pieces of sound like dulcimer chopping…are there videos of you, where you explain the basics of those electronic monster dwarfs?
Wonderful sounds - it even made the volcano in Iceland go quiet for a bit 🧑👵
You’re a good friend, too, Jeremy.
Вещь!
Dooooope
Foook yaaaaa!!!
The arp reminds of the theme from Airwolf
I want to pair this thing with my DT and OT so bad
Damn it... Now I want to pair a Digitone keys with an M8
@7:08 what's making the tone/melody? You playing the Auturia?
Digigasm 19:06
Dude, yeah. That was a great moment!
Damn son. I thought it got mad at you for a minute.
