We really weren't meant to liberate Calypso but we did! A Level 99 invasion from the Illuminates and we responded. At it's height 180,000 Helldiver's converged on that one planet. And it got down to the wire... But we did it.

I'm nearing 300 hours of service and I am 2 months away from one full year of spreading Democracy. Throughout this war, I have seen much. Death of my fellow Divers and tyranny from the Bugs and Bots. But what the Squids have done to our fellow patriots is unforgivable. I was among the first few squads to hold Calypso and to know that they have brainwashed my fellow citizens has reaffirmed my dedication to Super Earth more. I remember hearin' of the Squids return, and yanking my Super Destroyer SES Titan of the Stars from the Bot front to Calypso. I wasn't prepared for how, different, the Squids fought from the Bots. First few missions were hell, but my favorite memory is watching those dropships get stacked higher and higher because the dumb SOB's didn't realized we turned back on the SEAF AA. All three of them in the city. It quickly became a no fly zone with towers made out of Squid Dropships.

I always respected veterans of those battles, venerated them, even... but I'd never experienced anything like their pain, their fear as the enemy they faced was something totally unfamiliar. Calypso gave me a small taste of that feeling, and I am eternally grateful to the vanguards who fought on those worlds.

I had my doubts as to whether or not we would hold Calypso, but my fears were soon extinguished as the wrath of 180,000 noble Helldivers rained liberty down on the squids. This song perfectly encapsulates the feeling of triumph my squadmates and I felt when we saw that Calypso was free. I'll never forget calypso, I was with a level 145 who had been on malevelon creek, he crashed almost immediately. The rest of my squad were level 10, 13 and I was 11. Genuinely probably the best gaming experience I ever had

I fought a few minor engagements with the bugs and bots, and suddenly we were thrown headfirst into the meat grinder of Calypso. No one knew what they were doing. Hordes of squid-faced Voteless everywhere. Couldn't walk two meters without getting mobbed. The Watchers' purple lights haunting our every step. The Overseers and Harvesters destroying our vehicles, sentries, and comrades. It was a true helldive. But, we pushed on. We dove again and again, because the democracy in our hearts outnumbered their tyranny a thousand to one! And somehow, though their numbers seemed endless, we ground them down and threw their filthy saucers back into space. Wherever they strike, we'll be there to stop them. For Super Earth! Spill ink.

SES Lady of Honor reporting in. This fight was quite something. Because of communication troubles our first mission to Calypso was done alone and at night. We didn't know what we would find... Our comms officer was listening in when the helldiver entered the city. And the initial responses.. She made it back with the black box's data but a haunted expression marred her face. She told stories of a ghost town. Like the people could come out to greet her at every corner. Screens still lit up with the logo of super earth. It was almost thought this place was abandoned until she saw them. The voteless stumbling out of the mist. The helldiver first tried to reason with them thinking it could maybe be fixed but It didn't take long before they were everywhere. She made it home that day but the streets were coated in the blood of the voteless. Ever since then the divers have made a pact. Noone is to dive alone. Remember divers. We didnt know what to expect but we didnt have time to wait and learn. We jumped and dived into the slaughter. We lost many that first mission but we refused to simply abandon our citizens. I mostly notice a difference in the muffled "S, Z" syllables and the kick is a bit soft and bit crushed.
