Glad you like it, Jonathan, thanks for your support, the Materia is a lovely economical and cheap to maintain vehicle and space inside is not too bad either and it drives lekker.
Hi Benjamin, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit and interaction, the filter is in the tank and does not need to be replaced, one day when the fuel pump packs up the filter will be replaced, but it does not give any problems for a long long time. Gary
Hi Harmen, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit, Spark Plugs torque settings are as follows, M14 with washer 20-30Nm / M14 with a tapper seat 10-20Nm / M18 30-40Nm.
i have wondered , how difficult would it be to swop in a newer 1.8 or 2litre toyota motor , most importantly , with the newer 6 speed automatic gearbox? i do enjoy driving my one , the only part i dont like is the 4 speed auto.
Hi Calin, thanks for supporting my channel with your visit, unfortunately, I have not yet had a Materia in for a lower control arm but it should be similar to most other compact cars, check my channel on the 28th July 2021 after 8.30 am I am releasing a video on lower control arm on a Chev Aveo, it should be very similar.
You cannot use 14mm Plugs if your car is designed to use 16mm it will not fit. I presume you do mean the plug thread diameters when you refer to 14 & 16mm. Gary
See that one had a few taps on the sump as well, lucky for them it has not started to leak or crack the steel sump. 80k spark plug interval, and R 200 each, just be thankful you do not get the Ford engines with 120k change intervals, as those plugs are famous for breaking off in the head, so common that there is even a service kit to get the broken ones out of the head without removing the head. Plugs not as cheap either, only available IIRC from Ford. Like the engine flush, I avoid that by simply changing the oil and filter very regularly, so the oil does not get much chance to build up sludge and leave it in the engine. False economy to leave the oil in there till it goes black and looks like molasses. You saved perhaps R2000 on oil and filters over 5 years, but then have to pay for a new engine or a full rebuild.
Excellent video . Great camera work . Super advice .. Will certainly follow

Airflow sensors
hi, do you know it has Engine with variable valve timing?
i have wondered , how difficult would it be to swop in a newer 1.8 or 2litre toyota motor , most importantly , with the newer 6 speed automatic gearbox? i do enjoy driving my one , the only part i dont like is the 4 speed auto.
Don't bother too much effort and the cost ????.....
@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 will see if I decide to keep it for another year or five. If I keep it long term, I will consider the swop.
Hello! Where do you buy parts for Materia?
thank you in advance
I use Masterparts, Suburban Spares, Exclusive Auto Parts, Midas, or Diesel Electric.
How much will a service cost for a opel cross utility?? And what needs to be done?

Thanks for a nice video. . My question is that what is the normal rpm on idle for materia manual
Thanks for supporting the channel with your visit the idling rpm is 800. Gary
@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 thanks for replying sir my another question is that is OK if I use 14mm spark plugs instead of 16mm?
@@vehiclemaintenanceandrepai3790 I have 2008 materia but the idling is 1.2 rpm
