It's rare when a company listens to their customers concerns the way Mardel does. They listened to your feedback, and implemented many changes that you all wanted! How cool of them!
This is great! Do you have any idea what the paper thickness is? I know you mentioned it was like the original, year before 22/23 - I Usually print some additions to mine and want to see if I can get the thickness of the paper close! I have 28lb and its thicker but not like theirs.

I’m curious how you use the planner with older kids? I had used the Mardel planner when they were little but now my older kids (high school) use their own Mardel student planner. So I got away from using my own planner since they have their own. Would love to see how you use it with older kids.

I think they brought back the best stuff and kept what was good with the new one, making a perfect mix I do believe. Can’t wait to purchase mine. I’ve used it all four years Ive been homeschooling.
I'm so glad they went back to being more like the old style planner! I still liked the newer style but definitely had issues with it(the pockets was one of my issues).
i did not mind last years planner, I really love this planner with how it is organized and set up. But I am glad they are doing thicker paper and making other changes that are like their previous planners. I have been using this for about 5 years now.
I’m so glad you did this review!! I have been using these planners for 4 years now and I started looking for a new one because I did not care for this year’s planner. My pages ripped multiple times with the thinner paper, and just a few other tidbits I didn’t like. I’m THRILLED they are going back to the previous years bc I do love these planners & can’t wait for the ‘24-‘25 version 😊

Yay! Thank you. I think last year’s cover was much prettier, but the inside designs look lovely and quality is most important anyhow. I am thinking about trying this planner again. I’ve been using a more expensive planner that is very high quality and I love many things about it, but not the direction the company has chosen to go. Mardel for the win!

I was a little disappointed when I received last year’s Mardel planner so I ordered one off Amazon for this coming year. I was hoping you would do a review so we could see if they changed it back! I am so glad they did! It is very rare for a company to actually listen to their customers! I will definitely be going back to Mardel!

I do love the coil change but I'm not sure I'm gonna love how thick and bulky it is😞. Last year was the first time I used it and it was finally a great fit for us
I do love the Mardel planner! I switched to Homeschool Planet because I can print out a weekly list for each child and easily reschedule assignments, it works perfectly, but part of me misses the paper planner still.

I had heard about the Simple Plan planner since I started homeschooling 6 years ago, but they are so expensive I could never afford one. So, imagine my excitement when I saw the " undated" planner on sale for 10.99 on Amazon. I must have missed the part where the undated is actually dated because when I started excitedly flipping thru my new planner for NEXT YEAR, my heart fell when I saw that the calenders and attendance tracker both stop at Dec 2024.
No problem, I'll just track my hours in the grade tracking pages....nope...this planner doesn't include any grade/ hours tracking pages.
The more I flipped thru, the more disappointed I became.
I think the only thing I like about it is the beautiful colors/pictures, and the thick quality paper.
I'm going to have to make it work somehow, but I'll be honest..I'm not sure Id buy it again unless Mardel decides to add some grade tracking graphs for those of us who actually like and utilize those IN the planner. Even the Homeschool Legal Defense recomends tracking hours as your first line of defense, so I truly am shocked that such a quality and pricey planner doesnt include that. ❤
The new dated planner is beautiful, and since Mardel listened to customers last year, maybe they will add in some extra trackers in the future. ❤
This is one planner I haven’t ever tried.
New subscriber! I was searching for reviews on my previous homeschool planner that I have used for over a decade. I’m thinking about switching though, because I’ve had problems the past two years with the coil, breaking on me, which is something new. This planner looks awesome! It looks very similar to the one I was using. Have you had any problems with the coil cracking/breaking in spots?
Off topic question… how far did you go with Abeka and did you do parent led or videos?? We use it for math and most of LA (we use IEW for writing). Just curious for upper grades if you chose to stay with Abeka for any subjects. Thank you!!

I liked their planner the best but when I heard the paper was thinner I opted out. Is the undated also thicker ?

Yes, our Undated Planner also has the thicker paper. Now both the Dated & Undated planners will both have the thicker paper this year. Enjoy!
