Great review! I bought a KTM 1290 SDR brand new back in 2014. Best bike I've ever owned. I can't imagine ever selling or trading it in.
Thank you! It has definitely been my favorite bike that I've owned! 🤓👍🏽
After more than 1 year owning my 2023 Duke 890R I still think it has power enough and I only can use the full power on trackday's but still I just bought a 2015 superduke 1290R ...
I have ridden the 790 and 890 and agree that for my use it's plenty of power, but I was able to get a decent deal on my 1290 and I think it's one of the best looking sport naked bikes out there, so I bought one. And, it was one of my favorite bikes I've ever owned!
Thanks for the review man! I'm finally tired of patching my Franken-Harley back together every season, and dealing with carb issues all the time, and decided to get an SDR, so this was a perfect review for me!
I'm glad the review helped! I've got a '02 1200 H-D Roadster in my garage that can't seem to run more than a few weeks without something else coming up. Thinking it's time to move on from it, but it's got a lot of sentimental value. 🤔
I might be getting one this weekend! Hope to see u around the sacramento area sometime!
Best of luck to you and yeah, I'm always OTL for other Duke's so give me a wave if you see me! ✌🏽
love so much this video. like the video is the best.
As we develop day by day,
Always follow your luck
I sincerely hope that your channel will be very big.
Thank you so much for your kind words! 👍🏽
Sounds so good. I need it
GET IT! 🤘🏽🤓
How's the low speed and low rpm handling? I've heard that SuperDukes are not very comfortable to ride slowly. I had a Triumph Speed Triple RS which was very comfortable at all speeds, very goodlooking and had plenty of power but I crashed it and have had a hard time finding a replacement bike, so I've been looking into the SuperDukes because there's a lot more of them for sale but haven't test ridden one yet.
I've been impressed all the way around with his bike. Low speed, low RPM handling has been good and at the very least, you can use the ride modes to get used to power. I loved the Street Triple RS, and found this bike to be a little less comfortable to ride, and a tad more aggressive. I'd definitely give it a test if you're interested.
Where are you? That looked like down town Shafter or something. I have the same bike and live in SLO county.
Northern California. Woodland to be specific.
Great review 😎. I’m getting one 👍🏼
I think you're going to be happy. ✌🏽
Yea … Lifting the vail and staring lovingly into TOG Past. Two sweet little snippets of the old Roberto Grande (Insert several heart emoji here). I'm guessing Santa didn't bring you the GS ??
It's my roots, so you'll continue to see LRGRBRT (my vanity plate if I ever got one). And, no, Santa did not leave a GS in my stocking or under the tree. I guess I wasn't "nice" enough this past year. We'll have to try again for my birthday. 🤞🤓
Awesome Motorcycle,
I am also a 15 Super Duke owner, ( Orange ) have you put it in sport mode and the ABS setting into supermoto mode, and turned off the traction control??
It's a whole different bike..😅😈
I throw it into sport mode all the time, but not in combination with the other two. I'll definitely give it a whirl. Thanks!! 🤓👍
Hi, I have 3 questions if u may.
Does the traction control independent from wheelie control on the 2015 superduke R?
Is the 2016 model more refined than the 2015 model, knowing that they look the same?
Does the 2015 come with a quick shifter?
I own an sti and a suzuki bandit 1255cc.
Thank you.
@@homehome6739 Traction control does mitigate wheelies, but the systems are not independent from one another, also the '16 is the same electronics package as the '15, No the '16 doesn't have a quickshifter or auto bliper, but you can purchase an after market one for those models.
@@sti4lif thank you bro.
sti4lif Sup brotha nice looking SDR , so are the 14-16 all the same , and in your opinion , is the 2nd Gen worth the extra 💵 ?
How was your transition from cruiser to the SDR , as far as level of difficulty on being cautious with the throttle ?
You know, with the ride modes, it wasn't a difficult transition at all. I started in Street mode, and ride with that most of the time. Sport makes the throttle a bit touchy, but not unmanageable. If you want to be really cautious, you can start in Rain mode, and that's really tame.
I'd been test riding all different kinds of bike prior to making the switch, so I'm sure that helped.
that one guy Right on brother , yea I’d be going from a Rebel 500 to SDR , pretty big jump. Anyhow great vids !
Cool review was those the kids you was talking about in another video.
Yes, that was them! 🤓
@@thatoneguymoto 👍
How much are the service intervals and oil changes and how frequently do you have to do the oil changes
I'll link the owner's manual here so you can check out that and more - www.ktmshop.se/documents/15_3213274_en_OM.pdf
I choked on a sandwich when you said you were hopeful for 2020 at 5:40😂
🤣🤣
Ktm super duke love
How tall are you? I’m 5 8 and wondering if it’s too big ?
I am 5'6" with a 30" inseam and I can handle the Super Duke just fine. If your inseam is longer, and you can handle the weight of the bike, you should be ok. Best of luck to you!
@@thatoneguymoto Interesting. I'm 5'7 and was thinking this bike would be too tall when it came to hitting traffic etc but you don't seem to be having any issues when stopping.
How many miles are on the bike? Any major work done yet.... valve clearance...
Over 15K miles now. No major work done (necessary).
How easy is it to install panniers and top case?
I don't have either, but I found this video (hope it's helpful) - ruclips.net/video/xAI_MLKKuBs/видео.html
Does that V-twin get hot in the pants area? My panigale has too much seat heat.
Ooo, I've ridden the Panigale and definitely know that heat, and I can tell you after a year and a half of riding the Super Duke, I've never had an issue with that.
your high beam is on my friend!
I have found your channel through #supportmvc. Great content! I have subbed you!
Awesome! Thank you so much for your support! 👍🏽
