    I use the metal serrated edge on my tape dispenser to make the perforations on the two ends of the tickets. From the kitchen, the serrated cutting edges on boxes of aluminum foil and waxed paper can be used on long strips.

    I was so excited to see you use these receipts. I'm pretty much homebound so I don't get them but my family collects them for me. I've been using them to make little notepads I also fold them in half and use them for foundation for snippet rolls and also foundation for clusters. But this is a new idea and I just love it. Thank you so much. My junk Journal friend Jamie is the one who introduced me to you and I'm so glad she did

    Patricia Mae Anthony ( my regular tip lady...) 😄😄😄 pointed out your video to me. Patricia Mae is from Oregon. I am from the UK. It was your recycling tips that made her share! These look fun, anyway. I have other ideas of how to make labels, too. Using absolutely any thing you like!!! I think you would like the ideas. Ah. I call them Snippet Notes on that video - Inspired by Tim Holtz' Field Notes. They look exactly the same (kind of thing). Like yousaid they can be any size and these were generally smaller. Video is 13th Oct 2022. Thanks very muchfor your great video Hazel, Nottinghamshire UK 😊😊😊💖💖💖

    The ink on those receipts will disappear in about a year, maybe less. I noticed this with ones that I have saved for whatever reason- movie tickets too, fade. I don't know if it's the ink or the paper it's on. Don't know but they do fade . Just wanted to let you know. :)

    • @journalingplanet
      @journalingplanet  Год назад +2

      Hello, yes, you're right of course. I have some really old movie stubs / receipts that haven't faded but the modern ones do and it's an important point. From what I've read it's heat and light that make them fade so I guess the more you open your junk journal, the more these embellishments will fade. Thanks for bringing this up so other crafters are aware. I didn't think to mention it in the video myself. Too busy playing with my ink stamps. 🙈🙈🙈

    • @journalingplanet
      @journalingplanet  Год назад +1

      @@debbuckminster9966 I think it might, yes. I'm going to experiment but obviously it's quite a long-term experiment to do to see if it really works. 😂

      @annwestcott3752 Год назад

      @@journalingplanet I think when I used a light coat of mod podge all the colour immediately disappeared.
      Also most modern receipts I believe are quite toxic. I can’t remember the reason people say they are. I think it’s around estrogen, so I prefer not to take them. If I were to chose to start using them for crafts I would definitely research this. I’m sure this must be one of those things that is a contentious view or supermarkets would not be able to hand them out, but there are certainly quite a lot of people who argue they are toxic. I haven’t researched this as I choose to avoid them as much as I can.

    • @journalingplanet
      @journalingplanet  Год назад

      @@annwestcott3752 thank you for posting this Ann, it's not an issue I was aware of. Apparently, some receipts are coated in a chemical called BPA. I can't find an immediate reputable source that says it is dangerous to touch receipts. But almost all retailers in the UK where I'm from don't use it. I did find an article quoting an oncologist who said the idea that receipts are toxic is not realistic and that the study that claimed this only contained 4 participants. There is so much misinformation on the internet it's difficult to weasel out the exact truth but thank you for raising this in the comments so other crafters can make the choice of whether to use receipts.

    be careful using receipts. The paper used is thermal, and if you use any type of glue it will turn the paper black.
