I finished reading your book last night, you have the dogs behaviour and body language down to a tee! Everything you say is completely relatable too, I switched a few different techniques this morning on our walk and the small differences have made a noticeable difference straight away! Actually managed to walk our Cane Corso past the local field without too much fuss even with other dogs and footballers there!!
Works great indoors in a familiar environment but as soon as the front door is open and we step outside I cannot get the same attention. Even with nice tasty treats. Today I was doing step 1 in the driveway and my dog (flat coat retriever) turned his nose up at the treats and as more interested in getting to the green space for a sniff.
Exactly 💯! We (you and I) have to stay positive, on-track and enjoy our successes. We cannot give up or be sad when we are ignored; it's our pups being pups and this, too, shall pass.🤞🤞. Your puppy loves you all of the time though. I DO get it.😊
MY GUY! I was just looking through some learning theory stuff to refresh myself and I’m so glad I did! I LOVE what was said at the end. “Advanced is just the basics done well!” That was so inspiring for me! I always feel like my training is far behind everyone else. I see people doing such amazing things with dogs and I have to tell myself that I’ll get there and focusing on good foundations is key! ❤
Brilliant video. Please could you offer some advice on people who are new to dog training and how oftern to use treats when starting training early. Many thanks Joanna
Are you planning on doing anymore videos? Just bought both of your books to help me with our11month and they are fab! Videos really bring the book to life!
Steve I love your training techniques, I haven’t got my puppy yet but I am ready your books in preparation. Is there any chance you can do a video on the automatic sit?
Hi Steve I have a 7 month old German Shepard she isn’t treat orientated. We’ve had her since she was 8 weeks and has been almost impossible to do recall and loose leaf walk her. Really appreciate any tips on this sensation.
Hi Steve, Im currently on the IMDT courses and loving it! I did the exercises you demo here with my 4 year old bulldog Martin- he started to bark in his 'give it to me!!!!!!' way towards the end and then looked at me so I gave him the reward but Im concerned I'm now rewarding him barking. What would you suggest? Holly
How can I teach a collie x lab to not lie down every time he sees another dog? I try to get him to focus on me but he gets too overwhelmed in situations.
Wow Steve - you are a lot smaller than I thought. The book comes up to your waist.......Now Dougal these cows are small and those cows are far away :-)

What kind of treats that dog is getting so quickly? Please and thank you. I have an adult Border Terrier mix.

maybe start in a garden or a very low distraction outside area
Totally agree. My pup is great indoors but out in the garden there are too many distractions. I’m invisible 😢

I have the same problem

Hi, when would you add the command word to get them to look at you when you want them to?
Hi Laurie, for that, I would train & use a 'Reflex To Name' as described in Easy Peasy Puppy Squeezy!

How come you don’t use a clicker for training your dogs?
He's using the word 'Good' as the marker
