You can invoke manual shifting to the virtual gears from the paddle shifters without the transmission mode being in manual mode, it just won’t hold that ratio for more than a few seconds if the auto determines a more efficient ratio to “shift” to where as in manual it will generally hold the ratio. Lot of great information though.
Thanks for the video. I was seriously wanting to buy a new Outback, but sadly won’t. As someone who drives 2 hours a day, the climate controls in the infotainment screen would be a nightmare and totally unsafe to use while driving. What was Subaru thinking?
Just give it a test drive. Hvac controls are more intuitive than you would think. Honestly having it all focused on the bottom screen where you know exactly where the controls are just takes a few minutes to get used to and then it becomes second nature.
