Appreciate you making videos like this! The bootleg is definitely a very appealing option, it cost about $65 where i am at while the Bandai one is x4 the price at $230.
They look very identical. I might not be able to differentiate the bootleg unless I fiddle with it in person. Hmm... It looks good enough for display. Maybe I should really get one.
@@thanhvu2377 Thanks! I'll keep that in mind. I'm actually nervous, because it's gonna be my first 1/100 bootleg. I've only built a couple of hg bootlegs, which are pretty decent atleast.
The main difference is the fit on the bandai kits in general is better I have done a few daban kits and sanding may be required on some pegs. My tip is to sand them a bit each time then clean the part test it , sand more test it, until the fit is ok.
the only thing i can notice is the shape of the vents on the mouth plate a bit weird on the bootleg, and the gold painted part finish is a bit more mirror on the bootleg. but overall i think its worth to get since the original is so expensive
The bootleg is an exact copy of the original. They didn’t even bother trying to make their own. They just bought an Mgex model and copied the original runners. You can literally mix and match the parts from each kit and they’ll fit together. Albeit the bootleg parts will differ slightly with the slotted and pegged fittings.
It's kinda hard to see the differences without panel lining. But still, an impressive kit even without one. Gotta say Bandai have more details, but the bootleg doesn't fall behind as well. Good video.
Rumored that this was the initial release prototype design before Daban releases their final updated version later in the year. Hopefully it will have the Proud Defender Striker Pack for it. Likely Daban's version will have the shinier gold color similar to the 6642S Phenex.
@@justgamesandtoys This is a quote from Plamo Times April 18 post. "Hello, everyone. Some info has been circling around Weibo lately regarding the Xunxin MGEX Strike Freedom and upcoming Daban kits. 1. Lets start with the Xunxin. There has been a few negative feedbacks about the kit. from too tight or loose fitting parts, bad molds, etc. Don't quote me on this but according to infos circling around, it seems that the Xunxin model is a "trial" version for the kit and that Daban will release a "better" version sometime later this year. 2. This aligns with the current circling info that Daban is set to release its own "MGEX" bootleg. 3. The Metal Structure 1/60 Sazabi by Daban is currently in production. (Those parts you see shared on Weibo are trial molds) 4. A bootleg version of the MG 1/100 Sazabi China exclusive (the white and blue) will be bootlegged by Daban. That's about it for now. Like I always say, take these infos with a grain of salt until more updates. Cheers!"
@@Exaris79 Knowing Daban and its build quality, I doubt they are going to give us a MGEX bootleg better than this. Though I think the price could even be cheaper.
Plamo time's sources are mostly on weibo's rumor mill, I will take it with a lot of salt. I don't need to go down that deep because in the end these are just bootleg products. It doesn't make sense because ultimately those are just still a recasts, hence better if true. I'd be more curious if daban has the cad files for this because if that's the case, they can really improve / modify it like the MB Destiny.
this costed me lesser than half of the price of bandai. For the fitting issues it has, I'd say it's very addressable, for durability, it is solid for now as I really don't fiddle model kit joints often. Everything gets loose even with original kits. I have also pre ordered the midnight color of this brand. I hope it gets delivered with no issues.
no, but this is a really high quality bootleg, only the plated gold have minor issues with fitting. (Its gold plated so not a surprise) just sand it a bit, or use a drill then its good. And compare the price, its 1/3 of bandai for some minor inconvenience, and its very hard to buy bandai

I suggest get it on their later batch
The first batch is almost always imperfect for bootlegs I guess

The side view of the torsos show that they are VERY different.

Uhh yea sherlock thats why its called a bootleg do you even know what it mean?
how was the build quality? loose or tight joints? material quality?
Without indicating first which is bandai, its really difficult to tell which is bandai which is BL. One of the best K.O. kit recently

Xuxin mgex have some fitting problem and some doesn't have connectors so you need to glue it
Meh whatever, imma save money getting the KO. I'm more than fine doing alot of the necessary sanding here and there.🤷♀️

I don't believe it, this is simply a recast. but done properly.
The Proud Defender that Daban’s been cooking is for the 8802 MB Strike Freedom, the connector matches with the kits backpack

The only thing I can tell that's different is the mouth plate piece and the color on the K.O is a shade lighter than the og
For half the price I'd say the bootleg is a win. But how's the build? And how's the durability?

Xunxin looks damn nice even so tall but the bandai not so tall
since i cant tell the different, so i rather buying the fake. to save my pocket
Its the samw honestly. Now its down to quality. Does the bootleg tight fit and snap fit as good as bandai?
of course not...

No, I’m building it at the moment and I have to sand most of the pegs since it’s too tight
which left ? your left or SF's left ?
Will the bootleg be compatible with Wings of the Skies built for the Bandai MGEX?
I can't provide inputs here as I don't have it.
Where to buy xunxin model?
Support Bandai: Perfect and support real
Support Bootleg: Poor human having a crisp part
maybe if bandai didn't price it so ridiculously high i would, but since they did, i won't
Bruh.. at the end of the day, people/or friends just looking it from a far since you just displaying gundam, not playing it
Huh, R&D cost no money? Of course it's gonna cost a lot more than the bootleg which is just copy paste everything@@Demiurge13
Great review 👍
Whats the price difference between the 2, and assembly quality?
please watch my separate video review, i hope it helps.
i got this one Daban its Good value for money❤
Is daban and xunxin the same?
no one really knows.
i guess the bootleg is not bad for me. price was 45 and the bandai is 150
Once I put both of them on my shelf, I won't be able to see the differences except for the fact that one was cheaper than the other, 😅
you can actually spot it, just look at the plated parts. and the face vents
Doesnt matter. As long as you have the passion to build. I dont care if thats a bootleg or no.
Lost some parts for my bandai MGEX, will this bootleg fit?
probably but not as snug and flush, It might need some modification.
Does Xunxin has undergates?
Got the KO just now, havent started building it, decided to go for the bootleg since I'll just display it on my Kira shrine. lol
How is the bootleg sticker quality?
Metallic stickers stick well enough, metal etching is okay, can't something abou wsd decal as i didn't bother to apply it.
parang walang pinagkaiba. Parang mapapabili ata ako neto ng XUNXIN 😅
Nice nice broww
Wow! Almost the same!
darn , should bought the bootleg one T_T last week
the difference between this two is so minimal lmao
both are almost the same, the small detail some is different
I'm sure the bootleg has build issues.
yes, pls watch my separate video for review. thanks
copying is the best policy
Same kit but cheaper
Perfect bootleg 👍🏾
Bandai left?
Yeah, they left the chat.
cringe af. as if bootlegs will exist without Bandai. Poor guy😂😂😂@@jinwu9423
