It was an amazing night and always good to see The Amazing Emma! The last couple of months of been exhausting, but in the BEST way! So much good music!! Cheers!!!
Very cool. Discovering Big Star was definitely one of the major turning points in my musical journey long ago. It’s nice to see that the legend continues to live on.
Great recap, Emma! So cool about the setlists, meeting the band, and obtaining the autographs. Berwyn! The city made famous by Svengoolie! Alex was the perfect person to attend with you, and always quick with his Sharpie! By the way, I had that same Cheap Trick shirt in high school. It would strangle me to death if I tried to put in on now, though. Fantastic video!
Fantastic review! Pretty cool you were able to meet the band and get their autographs. No guitar picks? Have fun teaching this year. I'm guessing you start in a week or two. Should be an interesting semester in your CE class with the upcoming election. Enjoy the rest of the weekend!
Emma, sounds like a very cool concert. I lived in Memphis, TN in the mid 1970's, but did not see Big Star though that is where I got some of their original albums. I might have seen Alex Chilton when I lived in Orlando, FL in the late 1980's and early 1990's (either him or Jonathan Richman!, I can't remember for sure), but it was a small bar downtown, which was good because I worked downtown. Thanks, Chris
Looks like that was an amazing show. Love me some Big Star. I found a 7" 45 of Watch The Sunrise at a record fair a few years back. I'm also a big fan of Chris Stamey's solo albums, You should grab those if you ever see them, especially 'Instant Excitement' and "It's A Wonderful Life'
Emma-You get to see the coolest shows....Maybe they'll do this somewhere in LA....Telling on myself....I bought the first 2 Big Star albums when they came out (The first one when I was 9)..My respect has done nothing but grow through the years...And because of your fondness for Power Pop. if you would like to hear something brand new, click on the big T by my name, click on the community tab and click on the blue link.....Peace and Love, Terry Tutor

Hi Emma - Saw Big Star 🌟 reunion tour in 1993 & it was a fantastic experience. Only time I ever saw Alex Chilton perform.
I’m sure that was awesome! Very cool. :)

Thanks Jim!!! :) soooo I did ask Jon Auer after the show if he had any extra picks but he had no custom ones.

I saw Sansone open for the Zombies in 2014, I wish i would have appreciated him more back then. Awesome clips!

I saw 90s Big Star at The Fillmore and I saw Big Star Third tribute at a free outdoor festival.
Great find on that 45!! I am keeping an eye out for Stamey solo material. Just haven’t picked anything up yet. Thanks for watching!
Very cool :)

Hey Terry! Thank you very much! :) How awesome that you were one of the OG Big Star fans.
Shows like that are my style, don't really care for the big arena shows anymore. Looks like it was a great night. Nice job on the review!
Thanks for stopping by! I agree - I love venues like this one. Appreciate the kind words!
I always thought the Posies were a great fit for the Big Star catalog.
Totally agree 👍🏻
