I thought I might see a couple of the top teams like 1323 and 254 do something like this, definitely didn't think I would see a team do it mid build season though, impressive. It will be interesting to see what cool things other teams come up with, I'd imagine launching them must be the quickest way?
Really cool concept your team is working on, would you be willing to post the CAD publicly? We would be interested in comparing the dimensions of your claw. Thanks!
i was hoping the team im on could do something like this, as its a great concept that doesnt take as long as an arm based cone placer as long as it can be done reliably
This is cool and all, but it's gonna be rare to see a cone standing up. If an opponent sees what your bot can do, then they can just knock over the cones.

Thank you! We think that shooting will score faster than the quickest arms. It is the pickup that we need to master now...
I’m blown away by the fact that you guys are able to throw cones with that accuracy!
This is the FRC EQUIVALENT of a water bottle flip very creative
This is very promising at this stage! Now I can't wait to see a robot shooting game pieces like this, but on a fully extended arm over the platform.
i can taste the programers blood sweat and tears
😂
Wohoo I got them!! Thanks so much
Wow! This is so cool. We love the idea of the shooter
wow, just wow, never thought I would see this, especially with this amount of consistency.
Oh my God this is cool asf
This is super cool!! Are you using the light sensor to detect the distance from the pole and shooting it autonomously?
Yes, a Limelight camera. The driver turns to the pole and just holds a button.
It works great when the limelight is setup correctly, and I hope you guys do great in the frc competitions.
Didn't think I would see a working cone shooter
Neither did half of our team two weeks ago!
@@7028robotics I bet.
I thought the falcons on the intake were totally overkill until I saw what they were doing😄
Impressive work!
Thank you!
I can taste the effort from here
Here was purposely left undefined

It is a competition so I would imagine not. If they posted it publicly then people could copy it.
Wow, this is great! Can't believe it's this accurate! Quick question: How much does the full "arm" weigh?
Nice, you guys always make sleek bots. Hopefully, one of our comps overlaps so I can see your bot in person.
Edit: I will see you at great northern

Can it place cubes?
It cannot "place" cubes... It will shoot them :)
@@7028robotics Do they stay on the platforms? I imagine getting them to stay would be more difficult than the cones on the poles
@@keckothedragon Yeah they pretty much stay put. They never very little energy to get the the top and mid platforms.
I won’t lie, I didn’t expect this to be a concept this year. Guess I wasn’t thinking about the use cases of vision enough.
I mean what will happen teams will play defense to stop this from happening
You can just do that 😭
You can only do it in your community (and maybe loading zone?) iirc
are you guys planning on speeding up the elevator at some point?
Yes. This is our practice robot and we are making a competition one right now. Videos on the new robot should be out soon.
Cool concept tho
flywheel next
How said this isn't a shooting game
its just basketball but with cones
