  • Lt. Col. Bill Russell ('17) discusses his book "And Our Hearts to Poland: A Novel of the Triumph and Tragedy of America’s Oldest and Most Loyal Ally."
    This lecture is part of the 13th Annual Spring Symposium of the Kosciuszko Chair of Polish Studies in honor of Lady Blanka Rosenstiel on the topic of "Crisis in the Intermarium: War in Ukraine and its Implications."
    Lt. Col. (Ret) Russell’s love of Polish history began when he married Katarzyna, the daughter of a regional leader in the Polish Solidarity movement of the 1980s, and granddaughter of a survivor of Stalin’s Gulags. He is a retired US Army Infantry Officer and a veteran of the Cold War, Desert Storm, the Balkan peacekeeping operations, and the Iraq War. He and his wife were in the Pentagon on 9/11. He holds Bachelor of Arts in Russian Studies, an Executive Master of Arts in National Security Affairs from IWP and a Juris Doctor from Florida A&M College of Law.
