I'm ramping up to Spotfire 10 after years away, and appreciate not only the excellent new features like the data canvas & prep functions, but your clear instructions! One thing where Spotfire TIBCO devs could do better is to stop with the inscrutable naming "patterns" in the pivot settings; nobody knows what that chicken scratch means! Use plain English. Maybe Indians would appreciate plain Hindi. The point is to use more prompts with common sense than to force users to learn yet another proprietary little scripting language or try to master Regex; that's the king of all arcane coding schemes! One example of useful clarity would be to rename the field where he changes the column name to Months, to "New name for Columns to Transform"--how much clearer is that?
