There was no need to pepper spray her, beat her and drag her body with the car!!! When they pulled her out of the car, her arm caught in the seat belt. When they sped away she was dragged until her arm ripped off. They abandoned her car 14 blocks away. It doesn't get much more senseless and cruel than that.

What bothers me is that while the one guy was beating her, and stomping on her outside of the car, other cars were driving by and nobody stopped, nobody blocked the car from leaving. The three girls pled guilty to plea bargains, 20 years each. The guy, John Honore, was sentenced to life.
That DA can prosecute them as adults or say goodbye to his career. They drove off knowing that she was still wrapped up in the seat belt. That’s cold-blooded murder.

In order to prove a charge of murder, the prosecutor would have to establish that 1) they targeted HER, specifically, and 2) they intended from the get-go for her to die. Neither of those things is apparently true. Nobody is somehow cutting them slack by charging them with manslaughter: The prosecutor's main concern is charging them with something that can be PROVED. Don't prove it beyond the shadow of a doubt? The state loses the whole ball of wax. As more evidence comes in, the prosecutor can always UP the ante, but they don't like to have to reduce the charges after one has been declared. It weakens their case.
That's messed up. She did not deserve that. Shoutout to her boss for having those cameras up so everybody can see what low life these people really are. smh!

I am sorry, I don’t understand what happened. I see them assaulting her and taking off but I don’t see her being dragged. Was her hand trapped at the door of the vehicle as they tried to close it? I don’t understand how her hand got decapitated

At that point her body weight and gravity is keeping the seatbelt wrapped tightly around her arm until it eventually her body separates from the arm.

There is no value to society to allow any of the perpetrators to walk among law abiding citizens at any time in the future. My condolences to the family. At 15 yrs old I was playing jump rope, marbles, kick ball, study the word of God. I Knew nothing about doing evil. These kids are monsters.

This is so sad on many levels. Hope they get prosecuted to the fullest. That being said my family protocol when we get into the car is to first lock the doors and always have situational awareness. You just never know these days.
She had zero awareness. They were walking around her for no reason, she had the window down, door unlocked, just sitting there. Probably thought that daytime meant it was safe. And police and the politicians instead of getting more strict on crime are getting softer. These type of incidents will only increase. They were probably afraid of her too. It didn’t say if it was his parent but it said a tip from another parent led to the arrest of the 17 year old too. These three were probably a menace to the neighborhood and their families. But I agree it was probably a brave and gut wrenching decision for a parent even if your kid is a sociopath.
