I think I can clear up the “dad” thing.
(Not in high school anymore but this is still a thing in the some groups I run with) Jackson, MS is a dangerous place to live-both in the streets, and for some kids like me, at home too.
Our real families were complicated so (at least in my case) we stuck to friends pretty closely, and as we did- they become our surrogate families. It’s just a matter of love and care.
I have a friend I call “Granny”, another I call “Mom”. I have several “brothers and sisters and cousins”. Never called anyone dad though (that’s a deep bit I don’t wanna look into).
I don’t know about modern high-schoolers but that’s why we did it.
Love this channel! 😁
OK, one of the clicks that exist are the sporty girls.
There are the smart ones that up you don’t expect to swear at all but they swear a lot and there’s also the political ones.
Not really a new clique but a change in the culture of a clique. Nerds in my school became
1. More pervasive
2. Much more competitive with GPA
3. Not smart but inhumanly perfect
4. Were very willing to cheat and game the system any way possible
I'm surprised nobody has mentioned the coffee addicts like me. I mean, the kids that always walk in with a Starbucks drink or a plastic coffee cup from McDonalds in one hand. I mean, I always make my own coffee at home and sometimes take some out in one of the many reusable travel cups we have so Ig there's that too. xD
Sounds like every high school in Melbourne except the coffee they drink is the bourgeois wanker coffee that is a lot better than the sewage sold from McDonald's and Starbucks.
@@JamesDavy2009 Well, sadly I live on the other side of the country in California so Idk if we have a Bourgeois so sadly McDonald's and Starbucks it is for me. But it sounds like a good place. If we have any here, I might have to try it out. xD
I'm in high school right now. My town is a small one in Oklahoma, so there aren't really any cliques, just various friend groups. I guess there's band, robotics, and all the different sports groups, but that's really it.
My school was pretty small but the notable ones were The average, the oddballs, the blonde girls who speak in mean girl script, and loners. During my run there were two loners, me and a girl who didn’t speak a lot of English and hated everything. I didn’t realize until I got my yearbook but in my senior descriptor page apparently I had been referred to by underclassmen as “Worker” and “The bounty hunter” because I was the one who tracked down students who teachers needed for any reason and threw out the broken desks.
People who call a friend dad is NOT a fetish thing. It's a found family thing.

Nobody ever gave my daughters any problems when they called me dad. My daughters told me that they never had any problems as a lot of the school compared me to a Michael Meyers lookalike. I am 6'6" 280#.
In my experience the vlblagk kids cliqued up cuz famn near everyone else was racist and we had to survive. We eneded up being cool eith thise same kids as adults, mostly cuz we were raised at a time where racism was really dialing down. Now, I've no ic s it's been on the rise again, only with every race ganging up with oter races against certain groups without realizing that they have a problem with THAT group, not the entire race
There’s like the kids who just jailbreak all the school computers and the gay ones. I don’t know how to describe it, just the gay ones

Band kids vs Orchestra kids vs Choir kids and the people not taking a music class are on the sidelines
Is Supreme cliques really that often of a thing?!
Maaaan, I’ve not thought about NigaHiga in ages lol
Clique is pronounced Cleek; not 'click'. (just like antique or unique) forte is pronounced' fort' not 'for-tay'(not every French word ends in 'ay', just like every Spanish word doesn't end in 'oh' It's "until death US DO part" not until death do us part. Pulling yourself 'up by your bootstraps' is meant to be an example of an IMPOSSIBILITY, not advice to succeed by sheer force of will. "Blood is thicker than water" means the bonds made on the bloody battle field are stronger than the 'water of the womb; (your family) It literally means the opposite of what we think it does.
it is pronounced for-tay bro, ask google. it doesnt mean that every french word end like that, just this one
@@diliscollective9743 Forte is also the Italian musical term meaning loud.
I can't believe there are still nerds. Forgive me if I'm wrong, but that term came from Ralph Malph in Happy Days. It's over 50 years old.
CLEE SHAY NOT CLIK
Bro if your a furry your asking for bullying
please elaborate further, i am intrigued
(and confused at your horrible logic that having a hobby gurantees harassment)
People can have interests without worrying about being bullied. I’m bullied for “being a furry” when I’m not even one. People will bully you for anything, trust me.
or just a person with an expressive hobby. no need to bring people down who aren't hurting anything
@@XenicTheDurr I dont think he's bullying furries, he's just stating a fact. At this point, its kinda expected that furries are bullied
Can confirm there’s a person that calls their friend dad. What I find strange about it is that the friend is a trans man. I’m not against transgenders, but calling a non-related, same aged, biological female dad doesn’t sound right. Then again, they did looked similar.
Well, they are actually male
@@GrahamLavelle-hn3sz No, one’s actually biological male, the other is biological female that identifies as a man. I even asked him if he’s transgender at least a year before I heard him being called dad.
@@notmyrealname5865 I'm just saying, use the gender people prefer to use
