Dale Jarrett’s 1999 season was so dominant, yet it’s rarely talked about. 1998-2000 each had their champion with a sub 8 average finish, those being 5.7, 6.8, and 7.4, respectively. Those 3 years had arguably the 3 most dominant champions
@@ZFKATNBADGER40 Yes it was but because Labonte's season has been talked about the debate of how truly dominate Labonte was that year, people now and remember Labonte a lot more in depth perspective than Dale Jarrett's 99 season.
In all honesty DJ was was in every championship fight from 96-2000. His run of consistency, for obvious reasons, gets overlooked because of Jeff Gordon. Imo he was Jeff's biggest championship threat in the 90's
He had 4 wins, 24 top 5s, and 29 top 10s in 34 races in 1999. Of the 5 races he didn’t finish top 10, 3 of them were top 20s. The other 2 finishes were when he flipped in the Daytona 500 and wrecking in the Bristol night race. Didn’t have the wins of 98 Gordon but was so consistently good throughout the season. Todd Parrott and Doug Yates had some bad fast Taurus’ for DJ!
DJ is my favorite driver of all time. What always made it better was hearing Papa Ned cheering Dale on. He was always gracious, always humble. When he won that race at ‘Dega in 2005 after that long, long drought, I knew it was probably the last. I still supported him though; especially when he “raced the UPS truck!!” What a legend. Deserved to be in the Hall of Fame.
It surprises me that Dale Jarrett spent so long in the now Xfinity series that he only had just over a decade of competitive driving and he made them count
Dale Jarrett also was responsible for the no racing back to the yellow flag rule too. Huge safety improvement after the Sylvania 300 in Loudon in 2003.
First video and the voice of Bob Jenkins... :( With Terry Labonte, DJ is my favorite driver of this golden era. Between 1996 and 2001 he was with Jeff Gordon the most consistent driver.
The MOST vanilla, uninteresting, bland human to ever compete. I think he’s kindve the beginning of where the long line of uninteresting drivers of today started.
Really? I get he’s a bit more corporate but he has perhaps the best helmet throw of all time, almost beat the crap out of Gordon at Loudon in 99, the hmiel incident and the ryan Neumann take out. I’m sure Ernie Irvan has some things/criticisms to say too.

RIP Bob Jenkins. What a legend he was.
One of the best racers in Nascar History
A True Nascar Champion. I am glad to say I saw 3 of his Daytona 500 wins. Thanks for posting!!

One of the most underrated drivers in the 90s. Overshadowed by Earnhardt, Rusty Wallace and Jeff Gordon.
Respected the heck out of Dale Jarrett. Also even though I was a Earnhardt fan. I loved all the Dale and Dale shows.
It surprises me that Dale Jarrett spent so long in the now Xfinity series that he only had just over a decade of competitive driving and he made them count
His last NXS win was the crash-marred inaugural Jiffy Lube Miami 300 at Homestead.
ITS ABOUT TIME NASCAR!!! Finally a documentary about the driver i liked the most..... Thank you
The two Dales were my favorites as a kid. Raise Hell Praise (both) Dales.

These are great videos
He came to Miltom, Vermont when I was a kid in the late 90s/early 00s. Got to meet him and see that 88 car. Awesome.
Davey was so special. I miss him. oh what could have been------------------
Just imagine what a powerhouse Robert Yates Racing could have been with Dale and Davey
Davey was my favorite driver. He was one of the best ever.
DJ a is the best!!!!!!
Miss him hell of a driver .
Grew up watching him Dale sr. And rusty wallace battling it out.
You got that right
At D.Js. speach at the championship he thanked Davey Allison because Davey was Robert Yates racing
The 93cars has no headlight🥺
My driver
Do Mark Martin next.
Back when NASCAR was fun to watch
They could have raced to the finish
I am only the one that knows/heard him because of the UPS machine?
👍
If fix it Felix was a nascar driver
2 Daytona Wins Under Caution 🤔
He won 2 under green.
Extremely suspect considering there are rarely crashes at daytona. Especially at the end. 🤣
Third
Nothing more annoying than hearing that old codger Ned call a race
You are far more annoying. Now go back to playing video games in your Mommy and Daddy’s basement.
