It's called the city ground because Nottingham officially became a city in 1897 and Forest's stadium was named as a celebration as it was in the city's boundary. Love your vids Dave, keep up the good work!!
I only wish Dave was a Town Crier with his Sixty Nines, Fish, Chips, Battered Sausage, Crutches, Mushy Peas, Undertaker Wedgie, P on the floor, Reliant Robin, Rolls Royce Hearse... _Never change M8, Never change..._
It was only a few hundred yards from the old Town Ground at the opposite end of Trent Bridge, which had been named after the Town Arms pub. Nottingham was granted its Charter as a City in 1897 and it was called the City Ground to commemorate this as the land on which it stands was at that time within the City boundary. - according to google. Forest fan myself so was interested
Today wasn’t a good day for me and my mental health ..... it’s been a really tough day ...... but watching you in this video and describing what and who around you has really made me chuckle . Yes please keep up the people watching 😁😁😁😁
I feel you! Suffer with bi-polar disorder. Some days are good and some not so good. So when I watch things like blue van man it takes to the happy place. Hope you agree and really hope you feel better.
@@KimiMD thank you. Feeling a little better tonight. I suffer from PTSD after getting emergency brain surgery 2 years ago so things have spiralled since then. Hope you are keeping well ☺️☺️☺️
The new ground was called the City Ground. It was only a few hundred yards from the old Town Ground at the opposite end of Trent Bridge, which had been named after the Town Arms pub. 69 plate is a car registered from 1st September 2019 to 29th February 2020. 20 plate is from 1st March 2020 to 31st August 2020. 70 plate is 1st September 2020 to 28th February 2021
About the number plates - the DVLA add 50 to the year in September and that number runs up to March in the next year. For example... 08 is March to August 2008, 58 is September 2008 to February 2009. 18 is March to August 2018, 68 is September 2018 to February 2019. 20 is March to August 2020, 70 is September 2020 to February 2021. So, the plates from March this year will be 21 :)
A fun fact: car number plates are actually based upon when and where they're made. The first two letters are generally to identify the factory/region. The number is then the year, and if it was made in the second half of the year they add 50 to it. So if it was 2002 it becomes 02 or 52. That's why any year after 2009 ends up being 6- or 7-. Then the three letters at the end are the unique identifier, specific to that car.
Other Nottingham(ish) recommendations for your Chippy Tour Dave: Cods Scollops Wollaton (voted Britains Best a few times, but, well, I'll let you determine that), Priory Fish Bar A52 - Homemade Chilli Sauce and Kebabs are insane, George's @ The Thorn Tree Inn A610 Langley Mill / Codnor.
Come on BVM you have to go to Steel's Corner House in Cleethorpes. It ain't gonna be there much longer. Jumbo Haddock chips and peas... If you don't do it now it will be gone. You have to have the jumbo haddock - it is a thing of legend and the best chippi in the world - honest. A thing of beauty.

Great vid as always, even better that you're at my local. It's called the city ground as it was named to commemorate Nottingham being given City status around the same time.
When I was working away in Nottingham everyone used to rave about The Cod's Scallops. There's a couple of them. Didn't think it was as good as up north in Newcastle mind but that's supposedly the best Nottingham have
Love how you paint the scene on whats going on around you! love people watching if i had a van id sit and watch people all day stuffing my face...if i had a youtibe channel
There are 8 fish and chip shops in my small town, all are shit apart from one which is on my housing estate. All the others in the town centre are absolutely shite, but the holiday maker's seem to love them.
The blue t shirt really brings out the green in the mushy peas xxx

Yeah, quite often you see company cars registered to where the head office is, mostly they are registered to the local DVLa office
And most police cars have X as the second letter, in the Midlands they are mainly VX & BX
Fish and chips is easily my favourite take away, love it
You should go to Ruddington fish bar, about a 5-10 min drive from there!
