It would be nice if I had real powers to make a deck of cards vanish and reappear so that if the tuck case gets ruined, I could throw away the cards and make the other deck appear.
You can see him switch out the deck in his jacket pocket. The guy sitting there isn't able to see that. Also, he put the card in the pack at an angle so you can tell it's an empty box. More practice needed! I haven't watched the tutorial but I already figured out how the trick was done.
I think I would go Phoenix as well, but the phantom deck, so the cards go unprinted, do the deck switch again and then make the deck vanish. It just keeps going. That could be a lot of fun.

For DIY like this, probably regular Bicycle decks since they seem to be the least expensive.
I would use the spectacle deck by Jay Sankey.
