- This week i did some more woodturning and with this piece of olive wood i got from Kostas Annikas Deftereos i decided to make a simple bowl. it was a extremely fun process considering i had never done it before. the wood lathe i own and turned this bowl turning on with is a record power coronet herald lathe and the tools i used are as always the carbide cutters from East wood tools, i finished this with yorkshire grit abrasive paste and hampshire sheen microcrystalline wax

Another great job. A unique piece, lots of style and lots of creativity ... Thanks for sharing.
Thank you very much!
It is very nice piece of wood and also the shape of the bowl well done Jamie. 👏
Thanks mate
Great work, Jamie, as usual. I love olive wood. It has wonderful and appealing figure. It is one of my favorite (yeah I know, US spelling 😋) woods for turnings. I use it a lot as a handle material because it brings so much character to an otherwise mundane piece such as a handle for a cake knife or pizza slicer.
Looking forward to your next beautiful piece. 👍👍
Thanks brother
Looks great! The markings in the wood look awesome 😁👍❤
Thanks heather, appreciate it

The olive wood has a beautiful grain. In my territory (southern Italy) there are many secular trees and many are dried up because of a virus called Xilella. Good job.
Thanks buddy, i appreciate it
👍👍
thanks mate
@@jpwoodwork I think I may have found the issue. I need to update
Love it!! 🔥🔥
Thanks 🔥
Someone sure was hungry, they took a lathe chunk out of the side. Gorgeous looking bowl though.
LOL, Thanks buddy
Apologies if you answered this previously. What did you apply to the wood before the sanding sealer?
No problems, That would of been Methylated Spirits or Denatured alcohol, i apply that to clean the grain of sawdust :) hope this helps
👍👍👍👍
Thanks Jakey
