Lovin' the vibe. Came here because I was searching for some vids featuring our native rose species in their home garden. I used to work for a wholesale native plant nursery and am stoked to come across more folks under 60 bringing their enthusiasm and knowledge and curiosity into this space. (No shade to the older folks- just excited to see the passin' of the torch.) Hope your garden is growing beautifully!
Lmao.. Just another banger in the garden.. Bee-itch! That’s that H-Town flava you only get here!
Another banger in the garden... Biatch! LOL😂
Butterflies and bees thank you 🦋🐝✊
Hahaha
🤣🤣🤣 you are sooo funny! Soooo entertaining to watch AND I’m learning at the same time!!! I’m from Corpus Christi 🏝️☀️ my husband and I bough our first house 2 years ago and I’m still learning how to take care of my yards 😮💨 alllso I just planted some portulaca (or some sh like that 🤣🤣🤣) flowers on a window flower bed and watching them grow is sooo surprisingly fulfilling ✨👌🏻
I’m in New England so I cant have all the same plants you can grow, but have enjoyed watching your channel and getting ideas on how to spruce up my property! Also, thanks for offering the zones plants grow and/or come back after freezing.
I used to use the fruit from the texas olive to throw them at my grandmas neighbor's cars and windows 🤣🤣
Ahahahaha, I’m growing ammunition!!
What got you into gardening and how did you learn so much? Any books or just individual research?
Dude, you are hilarious 😂
You are the coolest dude on the face of the earth.
Wish you'd crank out more vids for the one time. Would love to see an update vid to see how that new growth is coming in.
It's hard I run two RUclips channels and the time spent planting and editing is a full day. But I may do some shorter vids to throw in here and there.
Dude, you’re the best. Also, due to your love for the Vitex, have you considered a Texas Mountain Laurel? Slow growing, evergreen, doesn’t bloom as long as the Vitex does but the flowers look like sacs of grapes and smell like grape crush, and their natural trunk structure is awesome, but I’m wondering if you may get a little too much rain. I don’t know Houston’s climate compared to Phoenix.
i have one of those trees! i love those pretty purple kool aid scented flowers this year they bloomed in mid february i think last year it was March....
The yard is looking GREAT! So glad our rain has finally stopped. You're doing an awesome job. I see yard if the YEAR in your future. Always remember, you are AWESOME.
Thanks, that's why I'm trying to get so much down now! So it has time to take off as soon as possible.
Wow. That's a coincidence. Earth is MY plaaanet, too! Loved your planting and tomorrow I"M gonna throw some flowers into the ground, too!!! Getting inspired.
Mustard & Ketchup dynamic ftw 🔥
Great content! I just can’t watch it around my kids because of your language, but you do you man 😂
My newer vids are more family friendly
❤️❤️❤️ Love this channel! ❤️❤️❤️ Much love from Galveston Texas ❤️🙏🥰
Cute pink hat Beautiful flowers 🌼🌹 and yes that tree is awesome Love from Canada
Love your commentary!
All Tree Ya'll
YURDDD
Check out Texas Persimmon, they grow good out here in San Antonio
I ran across this video today and it induced me to subscribe. You have a great channel man! I was looking for a channel like this since I also live in the Houston, Texas area. I have many of the same species you planted in this video. Love it!
nice I need to make my yard over but I'm only doing things I can eat or drink
Edible flowers
Another banger! 💯
Appreciate ya!
Tuning in for the plantu
Yes The Chaste Tree! Already had one on deck.
Hey love everything, but you might want to move those blanket flower a little further from the coneflower, they get pretty big. 😄
Yeah I need to keep spacing in mind it's a little hard to visualize when they're tiny lil dudes. I kinda want a dense planting but we'll see I may end up yanking it and moving it.
@@paulplantu dense planting is cool but that echinacea isn’t going to catch up. My garden is all about dense planting and I make those mistakes all the time. Just thought I’d give you a heads up! Happy growing!
@@LostInThisGardenofLife Thanks G, I appreciate the advice!!
Great point. I just planted one of those blanket flowers too, so I will keep that in mind in relation to my other plants. I’m working on planting a side garden to replace the grass.
You’ll be able to see that garden from space
Hahaha, I'm going to buy property in the future and grow trees in a giant dick formation.
@@paulplantu 😂😂😂
Nice natives. Couple little trees are planted a few feet from fence or house... was that the plan?
There are also Red Buds that are white and pink; The one I have is either a Eastern or a Mexican Purple Red Bud.
That’s awesome I’ll have to look those ip
Earth is my planet
How is the Vitex doing? I planted two this year in FL. Pretty excited about it.
Love your way of presenting. You are smart and hilarious! Good information put together well, great video.
Lowes by me just put all their trees at 50% off. I bought 15. 4 are vitex. Not as tall as yours though!
Yo I heard that at 3:33 😂
Your videos are hilarious. You have nice soil. How did you get that.
I'm loving that fence color I also live in texas did you create a video for it ?
No, it’s pecan stain from lowes on cedar.
@@paulplantu cool thanks did you use a spray gun or roller and if you used a roller what type of roller? try to do this myself 🤦♀️
0:47 sago coming in nicely. Update on all of them?
Oh yes, they look great! I'll do an update this week.
@@paulplantu ok cool. Do one whenver you feel like making one. Dont want you to feel pressured to make a video. Love from south texas
Ya DIGGGG!
Southern Indiana is watching.
Lezzgoooo
Maybe some trees with diff color leafs to add interest to the view. I don’t know what grows on ur area but something like a purple leaf plum or something similar would look awesome amongst all the green
I have some ti-plants I'm going to throw in to have some red foliage. I'll look into the red plum. That sounds cool.
Where do you get all of your plants from?
Any raised beds in the process soon? 🥕🥦
Probably not this season, I want more of a perennial system but eventually I may mix in some annuals.
I'm just a bit north of Houston
Try planting a pineapple top 🍍 It is a great experience
Okay!!!
If you would come get it. I’ve go them growing up all over my yard. Ugh
McLovin it keep the info flowing trying to do the same thing on my land
You have to!!! Haha, appreciate the support!
what happened to the wood of the tallow trees cut down?
I covered up a bed of Asian jasmine with it and lined my new fence gaps with it.
Great selection. Love false indigo! Hope you give updates!
Also, since you’re interested in natives, you might want to find a native plant nursery. Many cultivars don’t produce nectar. Also, where the straight species might be a perineal, the cultivars often act as an annual. Anyway, very cool you’re thinking of the bees and butterflies and other beneficial insects. Don’t forget the birds 😉
Yeah, there’s one I go to. It actually is where I grabbed that false indigo. I did see on the big box stores suppliers websites they called some flowers “short lived perrineals” SMH! Thanks for the advice.
you look good
Hey Bianca
You should plant some more fruit trees
Where can I get some sable minor palm seedlings?
I need help with ideas for my front yard. I don’t like the mulch, but the small stones or white pebbles yes. And potted plants. But idk what to plant because they have no shade, just the house shade when the sun moves but.. I need an expert advice. I also don’t have time or money to much maintenance and I don’t want plants that look horrendous in winter or summer. Help
You need to look up native low maintenance plants for the area you live. Pebbles and rocks look good and are fine in a desert like environment but if you live in a place that gets fairly regular rain you’re going to be constantly pulling weeds out. Cacti, would be fine in pots but anything else you’ll have to regularly water because there’s not much soil in pots to retain moisture. I have no clue where you live so it’s hard to advise you.
Where’s the one year update? Please
Going to do one soon!!
Chaste Tree isn't native to the US. It's adapted.
update?
Earth is what? Mah planet goddammit!
KNOW THAT!
I love palm trees if you get another free send to me
If j to the r-o-c and Laura From Garden Answer had a baby
LMFAOOOOO!! I mean, you're not lying...
Salavia? Queso coneflowers 😂😂😂
So you were aware enough to cut down invasive tallow trees, but STILL planted an invasive vitex! Sheesh! Talk about an inconsistent approach to landscape management.
You don’t need to use that kind of language. Surly you’ve got better vocabulary.
i think its great you removed the evasive species of tree, but dang the city should have done that for you considering it was outside your fence, but great work
