  • Watch as Alpine's own Chris Teguh unboxes and breaks down the R-A90S 6-Channel Amplifier with Staggered Power on the very first episode of 'What's New Teguh'.
    R-A90S PRODUCT OVERVIEW:
    Experience your music in Hi-Res with the versatile R-A90S 6-Channel Amplifier for hair-raising details that puts you in the center of the performance.
    VERSATILE SYSTEM BUILDS:
    The R-A90S features a staggered power channel layout that allows each channel to host different levels of power, compared to traditional, multi-channel amplifiers. This allows the R-A90S to effectively function as both a 3-way active amplifier and a 5-channel amplifier by delivering the power you need to the channels where you need it the most. Now you can use one amplifier to either power an active 3-way sound system or use it to power your speakers and subwoofer without the bulk of an additional amplifier.
    HI-RES AUDIO:
    Hear the subtle details you’ve been missing in your music with the R-A90S. With the highest power output in its category, the R-A90S drives power to your sound system to create a big dynamic music range for the listener, reproducing high-frequency sounds up to 45k Hz, making the R-A90S Hi-Res Audio Compliant.

    This is perfect for my 3 way active aspirations in my current build. I only want to run two amps max, but wanted higher output for the woofers. Most 6 channels are all the same output as you mentioned and an 8 channel with 4 channels bridged is just unnecessary. My choice was AudioControl LC-6.1200, but looked up Alpine 6 channel on a whim and found this unit. I think I'm sold on the price and that it has the numbers that I'm looking for. I love my AudioControl amps, but I'm really excited about this amp.

      @Tom Smith 🤦🏼‍♂️ because smart people know how to use DSP's and don't need crossovers on their amps. 🤣 What a stupid comment.

    These days you can use the dsp on pioneer double din headunit and use 2 way or 3 way crossovers sets, technology has upgraded, for example aside from cdtaudio, focal k2,k3,etc.,precision ausio,sb acoustics, hybrid audio, and the system will sound like its ready for competition, eventhough its stealth.

    Sure i use cdt audio 3way with crossover for front and back and use a 12 or 15 in sub, best sound, only because dt crossovers are amazing, but only the high level, mx 1000, hd series or euro series, alpine v9 are still my favorite or the new tiny Rockford fosgate

    I got the alpine ilx w650 with the kta 450 power pack.
    With the power pack, how would this function and be compatible with this 6 channel amp? I have R series S65c.2 speakers and R- W10D4 subwoofer. (Full alpine set up). I just haven't gotten an amp yet cause I'm not fully educated on these things and I want the amp to be compatible with the kta 450 amp installed behind the sterio

    So I got this amp but my mid range door speakers are 105rms so if I do the bridge on 5/6 would the 150 be too much for them?

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 8 месяцев назад

      I'm not sure I understand. What are you bridging?
      You can definitely run a pair of mids off channels 5 and 6. Having more power than you need is great. Just don't play it so loud, so long the voice coils start to smell.

  • @junballs6576
    @junballs6576 3 года назад

    How would I run Type R's components in the front & coaxials is the back as 4 channel? Would I get the full RMS on them speakers & some?

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 8 месяцев назад

      You would bridge channels 1/2 and use at 4 ohm for the front left components. Then bridge 3/4 for the right components.
      Then the rear two coaxials use channels 5 and 6.
      This would make it 4 channel.
      200w x 2 and 150w x 2.

    Hello Chris, what kind of rca inputs are on this amp, single end input or differential? The reason I ask is because I intend to use my stock head unit and speaker-rca conversion. I would like to figure out if it would be better to run single end rca cable (which has shielding) from the amp and just terminate the bare wires at the head unit. The idea would be to reduce noise. However, if the amp has differential input I could just run speaker wire and convert to rca near the amp. Thanks!

      Because I have 2 sets of rockford t2652-s components that are 75w rms each and I have 1 pair of kicker 6x9 speakers that are 150w rms I just want to know if this 6 channel amp will be perfect for all these speakers please

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 8 месяцев назад

      @@jesseedgell8698yes, those are the ratings. It probably puts out a little more than what it's rated at. Keep in mind that you don't have to match the speaker power ratings to the amplifier power ratings. Speaker power ratings are thermal based which means they can handle a lot more power than they are rated for. You just have to make sure and not overheat the speakers.

    can any channels be bridged at 2ohms for a dual coil 4 ohm subwoofer or only bridgeable at 4ohms?

    • @JasonWW2000
      @JasonWW2000 8 месяцев назад

      All the individual channels can be run at 4 ohm or 2 ohm.
      Channels 1/2, 3/4 and 5/6 can be bridged at 8 ohm or 4 ohm.
      Channel 1/2 bridged at 8 ohm is 75 x 2 or 150w.
      Bridged at 4 ohm is 100 x 2 or 200w.
      None of the channels in bridged mode are 2 ohm rated.
      Hope that clears it up.

      That will work, but your wasting a lot of power.
      I would run the front components on channels 1/2 for the tweeters and 5/6 for the mids.
      Then use 3/4 for the coaxials.
      Then use

    • @JasonWW2000

      It depends on the ohm load. 150 x 2 is at 4 ohm and 250 x 2 is at 2 ohm.
