Totally believe in manifestation: at the age of 6 I told my Dominican aunt, when I grow up I’m going to marry a french man, so I need to learn french. Hahaha. My aunt bought me a french storybook. I learnt french, I’m almost 50 been married 25 years to my french man.
I met my husband in a supermarket. I was 16 he was 18. I went shopping with my parents every Friday night. He was a stock boy and still in high school. He saw me walking around the store and started up a conversation, so every Friday night we just chatted and flirted, but totally innocent and just became friends. Then we just lost track of each other till I bumped into him in a nightclub when I was 20 and in college, then I walked up to him and started the conversation. Two years later we were married. That was 48 years ago. Hard to believe. I would still pick him.
I met my boyfriend from my balcony. A friend and I had a few beers and we decided to people watch with my binoculars, I was looking at the building directly across from mine and there was a guy on his balcony with his binoculars looking back at me. I wrote my number on a piece of paper and the rest is history.
My husband and I met in a very interesting random way. We were engaged in 4 months. Married in 11 months. We were married for almost 32 years until he died. It was a true love story...and I learned so much during those years. I still at times feel him around me. Love truly does live on in your heart.
My husband of 19 1/2 years passed away in December 2018. We met at church and dated for 3 years before we were married in 1999. He was from India and I am Africa American. He was 52 years old and had never been married, I was 51 years old and had been married twice. Our love for each other was mutual. I miss him every day. He was the love of my life.
This is so sweet. I’m in an interracial relationship myself and we definitely experience the same challenges, but between the two of us, we’re just in love. My biggest pet peeve is when black men try to shame me because they think I’m dating the enemy. In my opinion black love is when black people get to love whoever they want.
BM need to shut up they never ask BW for permission to date whom they decide to date and some will out right not even acknowledge you which is pathological in so many ways. But that is another story!! Lol!!
I met my husband at a shoe store. My friend who is afraid to make returns made me go to the store with her to make the return on her behalf. My husband was working at the store. But here’s the kicker. My husband did NOT usually work at that store. He worked at another store in another city. The only reason he was there is because one of his co-workers in that store wanted to go to a protest that day and he was filling in for him. Well I guess my friend saw sparks flying as we were talking because she just excused herself and we ended up having our first mini date right then in the mall food court 😂. We dated for 5 years and then had a dream Wedding. He is the most amazing person I’ve ever met.
I am Black -American and my Husband is White -Belgian. Just how you knew you would live in New York, I knew I would live in Europe. We met while on tour with 2 different bands in the States. I am a singer, he is a DJ. After 2 months of being on tour, our tours became one. Our first show together was at the Oregon Zoo. We toured for 1 month, together, he went home and we talked on the phone for 4 months before I went to visit him in Belgium. After that visit, I went home, packed up my life and moved to Belgium 2 months later. I moved in with him in January, we were married in April. On April 26th we will celebrate 16 years of marriage. He said to me yesterday, that he is so happy to be in quarantine with this family ( we have a 13-year-old daughter) As horrible as all this is, what's going on in the world, I knew what he meant and felt the same. It was easy to fall in love with him and even easier to stay in love with him. I loved the story of how you guys met. Stay Safe through all this.
Ahhh......I'm married to a Belgian guy whom I love as well but haven't settled in Belgium successfully ....compared to my former life in London. Are you in the French or Dutch region? And do you have any tips in settling into the country?
G.C.S * I live on the Dutch side. I took advantage of the free classes and although my dutch is not perfect, I can get around by myself fine. I also work in the entertainment business so I think it was a lot easier to fit in. I have no idea what I would do for work otherwise 😊
My husband and I had the same last name. When he asked me out I said I’ll go out with you but I’m not going to marry you because I had one P ....... and I don’t want another one. Five days later we were engaged and a month later we married. We have been married for 34 years.
I've been chronically single for over a decade. In 54 now and ok because its harder to find a suitable partner that adds value to my life instead of draining me. God bless you both.💜🙏
I met my husband when I was eight years old. He was a tall dark and handsome young man walking down the street. He is 2 1/2 years older than me. And I told my sister there goes my husband. So my sister told him hey boy my sister says she’s going to marry you. By the time I was 15 he had a first date we have two sons And we’ve been together 45 years. And married for 38.
I met my husband at 8 yrs old too..lol..I told his sister and cousin I was going to marry him..we were close friends for yearsss..I got married to someone else for a bit..but it didn't work out..and then My husband and I started dating and 2yrs later..we got married and have been together for 27yrs,married for 25 of those years, but we have been in each other's life since I was 8 and he was 11. Sometimes people just KNOW when they are kids..lol
Beautiful and good for you. Try being the age you are and not having met your life partner. People like you give me hope but you gave no idea how lucky you are.
I met my hubby at work. We were orientated at the same time in a small group of new comers[ I was the only Black person]. For ten years I said "Good Morning Mr.Cohen" and replied in kind as we entered the building or parking area around the same time. He heard through the "grapevine" that I was getting married and sadly congratulated me.[which I felt was a little strange] That Summer I broke off my engagement and told a select few of what happened. Mr. Cohen came smiling to me saying,"I'm sorry to hear about what happened over the Summer. Are you okay?" There was another orientation while sitting across from me he motioned we should be partners for the days activities .......and we've been married partners for the past 25 years!!!
Mad Mike, Karen is wrong. I am a woman and definitely think Karen's accent is sexy. Now there! :) The story of how you two met had me smiling all the way through. It's so romantic and sweet. Thanks for sharing.
I met my husband 17 yrs ago on the #2 train, we were both heading in to work in the city. I was reading the newspaper, looked up to make sure I hadn't missed my stop and he was standing near the door, our eyes met, he smiled, I saw dimples, my heart skipped a beat and we got married four years later❤
Once when my husband and I were in the city, someone yelled out “Why are you with him”. After I dyed my dark hair hair blonde, making me look even whiter, there were gossip and underhand comments. My husband is passed. Once when I was with my young sons, a religious person greeting us said to me “where did you get them” in front of my sons. I replied “My uterus”, I know not very smart but I couldn’t resist.
Florence, Ive been single for 9 years now. I like hearing stories like theirs because it helps me to keep my hope. I wish the same for you on your journey.
My husband and I literally bumped into each other at the main library in Cincinnati. I said sorry sweets, and went upstairs to find the book that brought me to town. Not five minutes had passed when I turn around and there he was walking towards me. I thought, how did he know what floor I was on ...but there was just something about him. We walked to the balcony and talked about food because I was holding a cookbook by the Two Fat Ladies . The conversation moved to art and then he asked for my phone number, I asked the lady at the checkout desk for a pencil and he told her he was going to marry me one day. I thought oh my goodness! I have given my number to a nut! He promised he was not a nut, and asked me to go to this bar and grill called Arnolds. We had a bowl of soup and shared a tiramisu and haven't parted since that day . Our 24th anniversary was March 25th and we have a 17 year old daughter. I can actually say he is the love of my life .I am African American and my husband is Romanian. Next time you are on Instagram check out our pics vaza57.
When I was 29 back in the 80's there was a magazine Alabama Singles. My mother was always commenting when are you going to get marred? So to get my mother off of my back I put an ad in this magazine one of the guys that answered ask if he could meet me on his way to California as he is a truck driver. I said yes, and he keep coming back. I married him five months later, and we have been married for 34 years. I guess this was our version of online dating.
I hope that while people are in "isolation" these days, they will develop the art of conversation and connection. Clearly Karen and Michael connected in a way too few seem to give time to develop. Here is an example of what that type of connection and cultivation could bring.
Exactly. Weeks before even pictures were exchanged because by that time they were already genuinely enamored of each other's personalities and that initial link can over ride a lot of the superficial nonsense we often in this age, use as full determinant of another person's value as a mate and life partner.
I agree. That's why I dislike dating Apps like Tinder where people swipe past based on looks alone without ever giving anyone a chance to get to know them. It's so superficial. No wonder relationships don't last these days if everything is based on looks alone as you could be swiping past your soulmate without ever giving them a chance.
I met my husband in the Congo, he was from the UK and came in my country for the first time. He couldn't speak any French and my English was really bad 😂 We then both traveled to see each other... Today 7 years we seem to be even more in love
You two are so cute. The love is so apparent the way you look at each other. My husband is English and I am West Indian living in America. We met at a paralegal agency in London. He was listening to my conversation with my girlfriend and was laughing at our jokes. I asked him who gave him permission to laugh at our jokes. He replied they were funny with the cutest most innocent boyish smile. Married 21 years now with 3 boys . And his smile still melts my heart💖
My husband and I met at work. He walked in the cafeteria of the hospital laughing. I looked up because I liked his deep voice. I was newly hired, so I didn't know who he was. I asked my co-worker if she knew the guy that just walked in, and she did. The next day my friend called my husband over to our table. The rest is history. We have been married for 27 years. I am so glad I took that job. Thanks for sharing your story.
Karen is seriously a very nice person. She is wonderfully British because it is not true that the British are cold and standoffish. The way she has of interacting with people is awesome, kind and considerate, always complimenting and making them feel good and special. That's why Mad Mike is not mad at all!
How I met my 3rd husband was so surreal . He and my daughter knew each other both photographers. She introduced us one night where he was filming me hand drumming at a event . True story I had wanted to thank him and when we shook hands it was like I could see my whole life flashed forward with him crazy I know but like a movie . So I said to my daughter later I felt like I have known him my whole life she laughed said mom you just met . I couldn’t get him out of my mind . He and I unknowingly kept asking my daughter about each other . We met for coffee talked what seem like forever and it was like we were so much alike . We were always together from then on and married on the same date we met 3 years later been together 10 years now . ❤️💕
When desegregation school bussing started here years ago, my cousin spoke to her young daughter before the first day of school. She told her that there would be some new kids on her bus who were black, and that she should make sure that they felt welcome. So when her daughter came home from school that day, she asked her how it went. Her daughter was excited to tell her that she had made a new friend. "Is she black?" my cousin asked. Her daughter looked disappointed. "Oh no" she said, "I forgot to ask." If only we were all that colorblind. Thanks for sharing your love story.
Colorblind is false, because if you do not see the color of my beautiful melanated skin, then you do not see me. White people like to say they are colorblind or I do not see color, well, if that is the case...you do not really see me and dismiss who I am as a melanated women by making that statement. I prefer the word melanated opposed to black because black is a color and not my nationality.
This is beautiful... I’m pushing 40. Never been on a date, never had a boyfriend. Men have never liked me. I have been so hopeless and depressed for years. I gave up at 31. But there’s a small hope still within me... and I hate myself for it. I’m glad you found love. I’m happy for everyone that does. It seems like an incredible experience.
As an old, old subscriber I’ve heard the story before, but it never gets old! Those looks of love are unmistakable. I met my husband when he was 16 and we married when I was 21. 51 years later, after many life challenges, we are still together and will be until the end. Long live love! Stay well.
I love Karen's accent. It is fascinating to me how couples can meet at random, practically by accident, and it leads to something lasting. Lovely couple.
I'm crying tears of joy , I love to see couples happy , and love each other, the best part that I loved , was when he got teary eye and at the end , when he thought the camera was off and said you are amazing and hugged you . God is so good 🙏🏽
Don’t know how I ended up here but, this was a beautiful how we met chapter. I’ll keep this short. My wife and I met just about 38 years ago. We’ll be celebrating 37 years of marriage very soon. My wife is Japanes and I’m Black/African American. We met at a pub restaurant on the beautiful island of Okinawa.
Honey I'm a nurse trying to stay safe, I'm single and maybe I will meet an angel someday, thank you for this video! It's a true love story . Stay in, be safe, and love on. Your both beautiful.
When he said; "Best decision of my life " (on marrying Karen) Wow-that comment with so so much love in his heart was everything--I love your love story Darling Ms. Karen and MadMike :-) Exquisite!
of course that is the best decision of his life. i mean, he is an average looking, white hetero man, and he has two eyes. if anything, he should be thanking the gods every morning and each night for his incredibly good fortune. most men would be lucky to be with such a lady. in case i am sounding callous, please allow me to share what (neanderthal) males like me think when we encounter such a couple, and by "such", i mean the relative physical attractiveness, not the color. the vast majority of men will think that either the dude is super rich, or famous, or he is blessed with a 'third leg' or all of the above.:)
My husband & I met while working together in college. We will be celebrating our 20 year wedding anniversary this Summer. I am Black & my husband is Filipino & we get that “interracial experience” that you shared all the time. At the grocery store, cashiers always offer to check us out individually until we tell them no we are together. Mind you most of the time him & I are talking to one another so we feel like it should be pretty apparent that we are together.
I just had to comment. My husband and I met online and after talking almost daily on BBM and sometimes on video Skype, we decided to meet in a different country in neutral territory. He not only bought my plane ticket (business class because I had once mentioned that I had never travelled business class) but arranged to pick me up from the airport. I went armed with emergency numbers provided by my friends, just in case he turned out to be a psycho. I didn't see him when I walked through arrivals but he saw me and came up to me and gave me a one armed hug. We spent the next four days getting to know each other. By day two, I realised that I already knew him - this was my friend. The one I had been talking to for 6 months. All that was left was to meet him in person. We've been inseparable ever since. Almost 9 years now.
I met my husband on Instagram, almost 7 years ago. I was new on the platform and he liked my photo. I didn’t knew that strangers could like my photos so I went on his profile to see who he was, and that’s it, I fell in love lol After 5 months chatting, he went from Italy to Brazil to meet me and after 1 year we got married. We love each other like crazy and now we have a 20 month old cute little boy. 💖
Such a sweet story, I loved it. I am Palestinian from San Jose Ca and my husband is a white boy from Boise, Idaho. We will be married 29 years this summer and have three beautiful children. It was meant to be!!!
Omg the way Michael looked at you at the end when he didn't know you were still filming. You two are so clearly able to love and appreciate each other, and the blessing of having found one another. Thank you for sharing you loving story with all of us, Karen and Michael!!
You guys are so cute, like that movie “When Harry met Sally”. And in New York. I met my husband at a church thing. He was in the kitchen with a crowd of people telling a funny story and eating all the desserts lol. It wasn’t love a first sight, but I knew and he said he knew too that we would be friends. And we were the best of friends and we dated and the next thing we knew we had been married for 20 short years. Sadly my best friend passed away three years ago, but I am so blessed to have met like that. We were an interracial couple too and there were lots of hilarious moments. Love you Karen❤️
What a magical way that you met. The magic still permeates through the fibers of your soul. Watching how much you love and like each other is so refreshing. So happy you shared your love story. Stay safe and healthy. ❤
Beautiful story. 😊I almost 40 and have always been single. I would love to meet someone who wants a serious commitment. Hearing your wonderful story gives me hope.
When I was young, in the 70s I thought I would live in Hong Kong one day. I had dreams of being in places where I didn't understand the people around me. I stayed up late and listened to HAM radio and tried to figure out where the people were. I was already big Paddington Bear fan and thought I was going to be a nomad like he was. Fast forward to my adult life, I've lived in a few countries, visited many and lived in Hong Kong long enough to become a resident. I feel peace there. BTW the grocery thing happens with my same race partner, I think it is on body language so they just check. Love your story. I think we cross the paths of others for a reason and it can take years for us to understand that reason.
Karen voice is sexy especially when she finds pockets 😂😂😂. This was am amazing video. I was tearing up the whole time. Very rare what you have!! Stay safe
I totally agree... the pocket reaction is worth a million. I was tearing up as well and I loved the spontaneous moments and their lovely looks at each other. And yes, Karen, you do have a sexy voice and accent!!!
This is so bloody random, and far better a story for it!! I watched this before but came back to rewatch after the things you didn't know about me video, and forgot that he also didn't know how he got on that list/thread. Of the however many on it, big or small, two got in touch, got carried away and married. Wonderfully mad.
I met my husband on yahoo personals...when he messaged me my question was “who are you I don’t chat with strangers” I was in Guyana SA and he is from USA...we started chatting and after about 5 months he flew to my country to come see me and we are now happily married for 15 years❤️
Aw, this is cute!! Clearly you two were meant to be ☺️My husband and I met on Instagram. To this day he doesn’t remember how he came across my profile because we have no mutual friends nor do we follow the same ppl. One day on my lunch break, I randomly posted a video of a beautiful hotel on the edge of the sea and captioned it “Future husband, here.” implying that I wanted my future husband to take me to that hotel one day. He responded with “ok, future wife” ! Lol, I went to this ‘stranger’s’ profile and liked what I saw so I responded with and “lol” and the rest is history. We celebrate our one year wedding anniversary next month☺️💕💕💕
I met my husband on My Space 10 years ago. I sent him a friend request he liked my pictures. Now we're married with children. You can most definitely find love online 😉
My husband and I met when we were ten years old, we lived on the same street. When he and his family moved on that street I noticed him right off the back. We started really liking one another when we turned twelve and we would say we were going to get married and eleven years later at the age of twenty three we married. It will be thirty eight years this November (Lord willing)! There's a lot of communication in our marriage we make each other laugh constantly. Do we argue...yes...but we're still here with each other and communing. Many years ago I said to my husband "YOU DON'T LOVE ME LIKE YOU USED TO"...he replied "NO I DON'T...I LOVE YOU MORE!" That was so romantic to me...it wasn't what he said but how he said it. After all these years I am still so in love with that man...Remember this COMMUNICATION is very important in ones marriage.
I met my husband thru a mutual friend. She liked him so much for me that she showed him my picture and asked if he was interested in meeting me. She then came back to me and told me about him. I wasn’t interested because we have an 8 yr age gap. I’m older. A week later he messaged me aka slid in my DM’s 🤣 I turned him down a few times but then eventually talked me into meeting him for a little fun at Top Golf. Never thinking anything would come of it because in my head he’d be too immature for me. He was 28 and I was 36. That was 2015. We married in 2017. He’s the love of my life ♥️
Even if its with intention, as long as you find the wright one for u, promise even with intention its worth it, happened me, promise, stay open, god bless
I met my partner 36 years ago I asked him to dance, yes brazen me lol. You guys are an adorable couple, you can feel the love between you both. Stay Blessed.
I met my soul mate....I was walking on one side of a New York street...he was on the other side....We both turned around and stared into each others eyes............ We only dated 1 yr before my dad beat him up, more than once...because he wasn't Italian. We both loved each other with words unspoken...never were intermit....He joined the Marines since the war in Nam was on. WE each lead 'paralle' lives..........longing/praying for each other...48 yrs later ..after my daughter posted a pic of me on an old channel....and somehow he found me... We had 5 months of taking like the yrs never passed....He was in FL and I had just left FL actually living 15 minutes from him......... I flew down to stay at my daughters, waiting to hear from him when we could meet, after 2 weeks I found out..he had been murdered.........( won't go into details now ) but it devistated me to the core... I'm still able to talk to his mom who is in her 90's and she can't believe he passed in 09..since she had spoken to him the day before being so excieted to 'see' me again....My only consulation was the fact that she said...He's always been happiest when he was with you. Prior to his passing...he told me this one thing......IF I can NEVER be with you 'here' on earth..I promise you..that WE WILL walk hand an hand for 'all' eternity......................that was in 09 and i'm holding him to 'his promise'...my darling JT........... _
I'm métisse my child looks Caucasian , I have had a substitute kindregarten teacher in France hold back my son when he ran towards me when I went to pick him up. She said: Ce n'est pas ta maman. I answered politely: Do you really think he doesn't know his own mother? She didn't know where to look!
My mom & I have gone through similar situations with our light complected daughters. When do people get it. The gene pool & the Lord makes people in all colors no matter how people want to limit interracial 💘 love & marraige & families & how we they think we should look. Beautiful & a blessing is what children are no matter the color or culture or race.
I only lived a couple hours from my then “phone friend”. I caught a bus to meet him the first time. I’m a beautician and before leaving I just COULDN’T get my hair together. Met my husband at the airport who was absolutely GORGEOUS!!!!! I just got MAD! He smartly went home and changed his clothes, dressed down. Then we went out to dinner. Everything was right. On the second visit he asked me to marry him. We got married and have been together for twelve years.
I cried watching this. I’m Venezuelan and my fiancé is a handsome redhead Brit. We met while working in a cruise ship. We have traveled the world together and the only place we got “ uncomfortable looks” was in USA. LOVE your story. ❤️
I married my best friend 25 years ago. We met at college and were best friends for a year before we dated. We are interfaith and culturally I’m Jewish. He loves my Jewish culture. It was a battle with my family. They said I was watering down my race and letting down all the people who died in the Holocaust. We moved 5 hours away from Philly to give our relationship the best advantage. His family loves my Jewish culture, our language and especially our food. Eventually my family learned to love him. When we married in 1995, interfaith couples were few and far between. But now it is so common. I feel like my struggle paved the way. It was worth the heart ache and tears.
Good point: an interracial couple see each other as humans, not as a specific race. But the outsiders look at your color, ethnicity 😊 even my friends of different race forget what race I am, cause it becomes purely human. U just see humanness and kindness in ppl ❤
I met my forever-husband (had a couple of mismatches before) at months away from 50. We've been together 15 years now (married 12 yrs) and better than ever. Love is always possible.♥
Love the story! I met my partner in a hostel lobby in Bangkok (9 years ago) - he was blocking the only electric outlet and I needed to charge my laptop. At that time he was living in San Francisco and I was living in Bulgaria. The "it's meant to be" part comes in here: I was booked to stay in a different hotel but a week prior I got robbed on one of Thailand's islands so I had to replan some of my accommodation. Looking back if I didn't get robbed I would have never met him!
I LOVE "How we met" conversations!! They reaffirm my belief in fate. You have a beautiful story, thank you for sharing with us. Wishing you a lifetime of connection and laughter.
23:49 I literally cried! One day I hope to find a man who cries when he remembers how he felt when he fell in love with me! 🥰 I knew how much he loved you when you said in your “laid off” video that he gave you the okay to not work a 9-5 job and to start your blog! That blind support meant a lot I’m sure! And btw, your OG subscribers/followers don’t see that you as an interracial couple anymore either.
I wonder whatever became of the person that sent the e-mail thread and knowing they were one that brought two people together. God, Universe. So happy you two were brought together. This is a God friended me moment.
Very funny start! I liked it! I´m half native american and half white and my husband is a mix of asian and black... Interracial couples are very commom in Brazil...
Need more pics from that era to go with the story, with maybe the proposal story next? How many yrs has this love story gone on? I think ur souls were linked from past lives.
Love your art work picture. So lovely & mysterious. What a positive choice to watch how we met stories. It's sort of like 📚 reading chicken 🍲 soup books & it's positive touching stories. Good for the soul. We all need some of that for our mental & emotional health at these times, during Covid lock down.😊😊🎊🎈😀
First subscriber from South Africa. Just fallen inlove you and Michael and would not have followed if it was not because of this beautiful conversation. This is the first video of you that I have watched. Am happy for both of you. Love your love.
My husband and I met at a (gulp--embaressed--!!) Star Trek convention in Los Angles in the mid-seventies. We found we had similar interests, exchanged addresses and started corresponding (we were from different states). Stayed pen-pals (this was in the days before email!) for six years and then we developed from friends to being in love. Got married in early 80's. We are still nerds/geeks but not Trekkies any more. But we are still very much in love. And it gets better every year.
My boyfriend and I are both black and we get asked if we’re together at the market. Sometimes I think cashiers just don’t know if the person behind you is with you or not
Found you in my suggested videos today, Karen. 15 years ago, I was working in a very busy cellular phone store attached to a grocery store. One day, my future husband came in to help translate for a friend who had a question about his bill. I noticed his accent was quite different, and I said, "you're not from around here, where are you from?" He started to tell me his story-he had been a journalist in Venezuela and left for his safety. I gave him my business card and told me to keep me posted about his situation. 3 months later we were engaged, and 6 months later we got married at City Hall, my roommate was our witness. We went to a French restaurant for dinner and went home. Went to work the next day. No honeymoon, either.
I'm crying. I just love the way you two love each other. It also gives me hope that I will still meet the one even though I'm 33. Thank you for posting this. I do believe in manifestation and also that everything happens for a reason.
Just seeing this for the first time as I go back and binge your videos. This is a dose of what I needed in my day. You two are an inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing. Loved this.
Totally believe in manifestation: at the age of 6 I told my Dominican aunt, when I grow up I’m going to marry a french man, so I need to learn french. Hahaha. My aunt bought me a french storybook. I learnt french, I’m almost 50 been married 25 years to my french man.
Jaki Maurey-Delaunay so cute!
Wow!
Well, being that the DR is on the same island as a French speaking country, I am not real surprised!
Oh wow you magnifested what you wanted in your life. Words have power.
Who cares
Every guy should look at their woman the way he looked at you when he thought the camera was off. ❤️
ahhhhhhhh don't make me get teary eyed.......
yesssssss . . .such a dream couple
This was such a delightful video 🌸❤️🙏
Patricia Morris Indeed!!
Agreed!

Nancy Parmelee aww this is so lovely to hear. Congratulations 🥰
Wow
Wooooooow!!! 48 years of love! Amazing! ❤️
😍❤💗😍❤💗
Wow! Love story!
I met my boyfriend from my balcony. A friend and I had a few beers and we decided to people watch with my binoculars, I was looking at the building directly across from mine and there was a guy on his balcony with his binoculars looking back at me. I wrote my number on a piece of paper and the rest is history.
You are crazy.

How romantic.

My husband and I met in a very interesting random way. We were engaged in 4 months. Married in 11 months. We were married for almost 32 years until he died. It was a true love story...and I learned so much during those years. I still at times feel him around me. Love truly does live on in your heart.
it does it never ever truly dies Denise as you are already experiencing. I'm sorry for your loss and both of you will always cherish the memories.
Denise Davis that is so beautiful. Long may your memories reign.

@@dorotheakalra3123 wow. 19 yrs! And you met at 51?
This is so sweet. I’m in an interracial relationship myself and we definitely experience the same challenges, but between the two of us, we’re just in love. My biggest pet peeve is when black men try to shame me because they think I’m dating the enemy. In my opinion black love is when black people get to love whoever they want.
I’m in an interracial relationship as well and I feel the exactly same way!
This.
BM need to shut up they never ask BW for permission to date whom they decide to date and some will out right not even acknowledge you which is pathological in so many ways. But that is another story!! Lol!!
Off course they dont shame black guys with whites chick's tho, you go girl
I pay them no attention. We laugh at them together.
Modern Green Goddess Awww 🥰
What a story. That’s so sweet.
Love these types of stories!
Your very own modern Cinderella story, with a twist!
What a sweet story. Ahh, love!
This is beautiful. Best to you both, well all 3 of you...always.
Love your story! (Also, hi from a fellow Belgian :))

Beautiful!
Aww I just finished reading your story and then saw your name! What a beautiful story Mrs Cohen

Yessss that's totally online dating...wow! God bless you.
Wow. I'm shook, that i,s totally amazing.
I hope that while people are in "isolation" these days, they will develop the art of conversation and connection. Clearly Karen and Michael connected in a way too few seem to give time to develop. Here is an example of what that type of connection and cultivation could bring.

✔✔✔✔👏
Exactly. Weeks before even pictures were exchanged because by that time they were already genuinely enamored of each other's personalities and that initial link can over ride a lot of the superficial nonsense we often in this age, use as full determinant of another person's value as a mate and life partner.
D R-K You are right! I thought the same, very good point!
He couldn't speak any French and my English was really bad 😂
We then both traveled to see each other...

Magical!!
As a British woman who has dated American men I can confirm that they LOVE the British accent! I think it's some kind of naughty librarian vibe!
I'm American and dated a Brit. I loved his accent so much I'd make him talk about anything. He was my little white Englishman! HA!
What a lovely story!
😂
Great story with an unexpected ending. Thank you.
@Elyse George exactly.

in case i am sounding callous, please allow me to share what (neanderthal) males like me think when we encounter such a couple, and by "such", i mean the relative physical attractiveness, not the color. the vast majority of men will think that either the dude is super rich, or famous, or he is blessed with a 'third leg' or all of the above.:)
Michael is truly smitten w you Karen. How absolutely magical still.

@@Gorogorodoro Right, this is what we need to know.
Watching this is 2024 and so glad I did! This brought happy tears to my eyes.
Thank you for sharing! 🙏🏽

That is so sad and beautiful. I'm so sorry you lost him. You will find each other again.
I am so sorry to hear that you two were never able to be together. 😭
😔🥲🥲🥲
Sending hugs.💝
@@kustakuties9847 Thank you...that means a lot to me.........
Thats beautiful . I am here smiling like a nutcase.
40 minutes straight of smiling and now I need fillers. This was so cute.
Real love is blind the real situation.
Me too 😍😍
Yep...so TRUE
the love between you two is palpable. I love how you genuinely LIKE each other as well as love each other. it's beautiful
😳😳 people can be really stupid!! Brilliant response btw 😂😂
Lol this has happen to me in Paris, it's so odd for such multicultural city.
Thanks for sharing!
Meant to say, caught a bus to see him.
I cried watching this. I’m Venezuelan and my fiancé is a handsome redhead Brit. We met while working in a cruise ship. We have traveled the world together and the only place we got “ uncomfortable looks” was in USA. LOVE your story. ❤️
Milla 4 as a US citizen, I’m so f*cking over it.
I know right!
+@@virginiaperez7712: I understand where folks come from when they say a female is to be seen and not heard.
It's because there uncomfortable about how they arrived in the USA. Imjs.
There's just something about your videos. They're so bright yet calming and real. Like chatting with friends.
Can i just point out that karen is a great story teller 😂 felt like i was watching a movie lol
Isn't she fabulous. Their a fun happy couple. Happy for them 👍 too!😄🎉🎈🎊😊💞
I married my best friend 25 years ago.
Post the pictures of yourselves back then.
please. sounds like you are ordering her to
Good point: an interracial couple see each other as humans, not as a specific race. But the outsiders look at your color, ethnicity 😊 even my friends of different race forget what race I am, cause it becomes purely human. U just see humanness and kindness in ppl ❤
The way he looks at you makes my heart melt. That's pure love! ❤
I love your love. I am 51 and still hoping for that kind of love one day.
47 yo and me too.
I got married at 55. It took meeting over 50 people to find him. I highly recommend eHarmony!
Honestly i'd love to find that too xx
Mad Mike I’m a woman and I think Karen’s accent is sexy. 🙂
I wonder whatever became of the person that sent the e-mail thread and knowing they were one that brought two people together. God, Universe. So happy you two were brought together. This is a God friended me moment.
I think it's all God -
Very funny start! I liked it! I´m half native american and half white and my husband is a mix of asian and black... Interracial couples are very commom in Brazil...
Need more pics from that era to go with the story, with maybe the proposal story next? How many yrs has this love story gone on? I think ur souls were linked from past lives.
nycovergirl yes! I would love to hear the rest of the story too!
Please show a close up wedding photo
How long have you been married?
Sleepless in Seattle vibes. And reading everyones "how we met stories" in the comment section is as fun as hearing your lovely story.
I met my husband in Dragoncon's ticket line in 2007. No shame here! We still go every year :-)
Beyond fabulous 💟💟
Australia.
Beautiful!!!! Yayyyyy!!!😃😁😆🙂💝🔥🔥🔥
This...ugh literally made me cry. I hope I can experience this type of love one day!
My boyfriend and I are both black and we get asked if we’re together at the market. Sometimes I think cashiers just don’t know if the person behind you is with you or not
Agree. I think it’s appropriate to ask at checkout for accuracy.
Loved this.
