This makes so much sense! I was a runner most of my life until @2009 and always struggled with tight IT bands, hamstrings, psoas, and my knees... I also struggled with undiagnosed chronic constipation IBS for most of my life until 2002.
I’ve spent years healing my gut from wheat/gluten allergies and other issues so this is a key awareness around why this was enhanced back then for me. Meanwhile I’ve always been in the fitness field teaching & advocating for stretching & strengthening! 🙌🏼
Thank You for this powerful insight!

      HI,
That is an indication that either your are lifting too much for your level of conditioning, or that your core isn't working properly. You can learn a lot by studying my online course titled "Scientific Core Conditioning".

If you search those topics on my channel here, I'm pretty sure you'll find those stretches amidst my many videos.
FYI, there is a whole set of 20 stretch tests and specific instructions for corrective stretching in my books titled "How To Eat, Move and Be Healthy!" and "The Golf Biomechanic's Manual".

    Hi Paul,
I am inclined to sit on the sofa in a yoga position with the soles of my feet together. My left leg seems to gradually lean to the left as the right leg becomes upright I rest my right arm on my knee.
After a few minutes if I move too quickly I get a pretty sharp pain in my groin.
I sometimes get this pain when I'm lying on my back in bed with my legs straight and left foot in a natural position. Is this my IT band do you know?
I'm definitely guilty of not stretching enough. I am a lefty also.
    Thanks.
    Martin

      Hi,
      It can be.
Too much muscle tension compresses the cartilage in joints, which starts a degenerative and inflammatory process in the irritated joint(s).
Eating any grain that you can't digest results in undigested food antigens getting stuck in the micro capillaries around joints, with the most problem being in and around most active joints. The result is that the immune system comes to police the antigens and that triggers an inflammatory response, producing the kind of pain you are describing. For example, if I eat any corn whatsoever, my hip joints get very painful and I feel like an old man...so I avoid all grains because any of them will do that to me, but corn is the worst for my body.
      Love and chi,
      Paul Chek

Mr. Chek, I sent an email to your info email link at the chek institute site today regarding my desire to pursue work in holistic/naturopathic medicine. Like you once were, I'm a paratrooper in the Army and I'm very concerned about the direction of the military and do not believe it's in line with my ultimate goal of helping and healing people. I go into much greater detail in the email, if you can personally read it and reach out I'd be more than grateful.
    God Bless, Matthew

    • @PaulChekLive

      Hi Matthew,
If you send your email to me via Penny, my wife at penny@paulchek.com it is much more likely to make it to me.
I'll read and respond as soon as I have a moment to read it once Penny forwards it to me.
You are Very Wise to be concerned about the direction the military is going!
I was concerned when I got out in 1986!
I've found that there is no more rewarding a career path than devoting ourselves to helping others live and love more fully.
Anyone can destroy life, but it takes a big heart and real commitment to life to nurture life, and right now, nature is severely struggling due to corporate hijacking of natural resources, including the minds of those too asleep to realize that they've been possessed by the evil geniuses that want to strip mine the world and the inner-resources of humanity....Every Darth Vader crates a Luke Skywalker....
      Love and chi,
      Paul Chek

the gut and diet affect absolutely everything friend :) but that may have to do with the powerful antiinflammatory affects fasting has? if you are observing something then it is true keep asking why and you'll find the answer

    • @foleskinfoley8617
      @foleskinfoley8617 2 года назад +1

Could be toxicity issue. Toxins are often stored in the joints and tissues. Do the questionnaires in Paul’s book will give you more of an idea of the issue

    • @PaulChekLive
      @PaulChekLive  2 года назад +2

      Hi,
Yes, the colon reflexes to the entire sciatic nerve distribution, which is through the hamstrings, calves and feet.
I'd recommend you follow the 4-day rotation diet and tips for exclusion of foods so you an find the foods that are inflaming your intestinal tract and removing them or this issue will be unlikely to clear up. You can also try seeing a colon hydrotherapist and getting cleaned out, which can give you relief and be a diagnostic tool; if the symptoms go away or decrease it suggests that there is a relationship between the Achilles pain and the colon, which I've seen many times in my career. Another option is to do a food allergy and food intolerance test so you know what to eliminate right away, but the exclusion diet is the gold standard because the tests are still not that accurate.
      Love and chi,
      Paul Chek

@@PaulChekLive I had pondered this as well; encourages me even more i'm on the right path! Thank you for opening up about the insanity of Marines lol. I served in the marine corps as an infantryman and i can attest to that statement. Honestly I watched the highly intense rather dark methods of conditioning marines turn some people seriously crazy and most others twist their mindsets pretty darkly. What do we expect would happen when you tell someone to chant the mantra "kill, kill, kill them all" tens of thousands of times... Thanks for the teachings paul you have given me so much hope not feeling alone in my views of life and how to live it
