I am Polynesian and I always love the dances. There are a couple of things the sister needs to learn. Her arm movements are very stiff and robotic. Go soft with the arm movements. Try not to karate chops and stabs. Smooth and relax. Slow and delicate. Your hands are stretched straight. Try to relax your palms and fingers. Have a soft palm with a curve to it like the brother is doing. His palms are not straight. Every time you move your hands, look at them as you move your hands. Don't look straight ahead. By focusing on your hands, the audience will look at your hands too. If you look at other dancers, they will always look at the movements of their hands. You tell your story with your hands. The brother is very smooth in all of his movements. It looks very natural. His palms are not straight and his movements are very authentic. Anyway, both of you did great. Thanks for sharing.

It's so hard to learn by myself but I will do my best to learn this dance to keep the spirit of aloha with me. I haven't learned any Hawaiian dances yet. I like this video because she is actually wearing tight pants. You can see what her legs are doing. When the ladies where the pretty skirts - it looks good but it is harder to learn from. I think I'll learn it backwards if I try by watching. I will look up the song again in English. I've read the lyrics a couple of times - seen them on here. I really like the song and the dance is pretty. I was hoping to learn it with my daughter for her birthda

I've watched 5 He Mele No Lilo dance videos on youtube and the dance is different on each?
this was 4 years agoo, but xD A lot of the time people change up the dance to either match the meaning of the song or the way the music is.
