I feel it with "you can't rely on anyone" thing. Got in as a cadet on a certain server, a map I don't really know. Patrolling with an officer we passed several times by a maints bar organized by some folks. Really neat and cozy place, they even made a floor path from the main hall through the maints leading to the place. Pretty popular too. Skip forward like half an hour. A syndie, let's call him Jackie, is being searched for by what feels like everyone. Constant requests of his whereabouts and stuff. I decide to check the maints bar. He's there, chilling with his fellow agent monkey. Well, I'm not super robust, and I really don't wanna fight a 2v1 in a cramped space full of civilians. I call out into sec radio: "Hey, Jackie is in the maints bar, requesting reinforcements." "I repeat, Jackie is in the maints bar, please send help". Having said that, I approach Jackie and begin chatting him up. He's not being aggressive, and doesn't suspect he's wanted because I'm not being aggro at all. We have a conversation for what feels like 5 minutes or more. Nobody's coming. I am getting impatient. Suddenly I hear a question on sec comms: "Hey, so does anyone know where that Jackie guy is?" Again, we have a fully staffed sec department. I'm a cadet who's playing the map for the first time and doesn't really main sec. I walk away from Jackie, who's planning to leave and unload onto the person asking, telling that Jackie hasn't moved an inch in the last 5 minutes and that I reported his whereabouts in the sec channel already. Not without bad words. I tell them to get to the maints bar, to which I receive: "Where's the maints bar?" I don't know, maybe you should know this thing literally every passenger on the station knows?! After explaining the location of maints bar, a single(!) person arrives and we arrest Jackie together. But holy shit did my opinion of other sec players dipped after that.
1:47 a little advice I found, it's that holobarriers are really useful in situations like that because the AI treats it like a wall so you're 100% safe, everyone else is safe, and coordinating with the AI becomes easier though the airlock may close and the AI must be opening it again if you're not fast... But safety above speed in most cases is the best. And also putting barriers around you helps with civilians, stupid seccofs and RP
"you can't rely on anyone" thing: calm shift i was dinona warden i arthorized testing lethal weapons for sec to train on dummyes. spider appered from vent under me and sec off had some kind of weapon that burns(dont remeber what). lets just say i was lucky i didnt ashed
Changeling meta: Insert your own blood into the centrifuge before doing anything to anyone, chem is now full of Blood Kudzu. Do it a second time, and the centrifuge's durability is now used up and it's destroyed. Thankfully they fixed changeling hivemind by making NOT a radio channel.
5:23 hearing messages has been so hard ever since they removed tts. Like half the time I miss like 50 important messages and once the CE was going to fire me because I didn’t read his messages. Oops 🙁
5:39 IDK when you play but 90% of the time my secmates are swell, responsive and good people. And when they aren't HoS demotes them. I do rely on them frequently and recently unlocked Warden 11:45 Robust sec 26:40 This is prime sec combat gameplay. I am not robust, so I mostly help peopoe with paperwork, arrest unaware syndies that break into HoP in front of me, and search thieves. I do kill criters occassionally
God, this is an old round, back when my character was named Weegee DaGooper, I had to leave that round because of IRL reasons but is good to know what happen in that round.
I bet the person who reported you to get that bwoink was the nukie guy. he seems VERY uptight about metagaming to accuse people of it with less evidence than you had that he was a ling
1:54 please alt click also, when you kill a changeling, always cuff the corpse and strip them of EVERYTHING, and be prepared for them to jump up and melt the cuffs at any moment on the way to the crematoreum i think its really funny that people think ninja is a combat antag and gets in fights and die because they only have 20% resistances lol
My main issue with changelings is the RDM maints meta, where changelings will make any reason to get people in maints and RDM them to eat them. This includes wire cutting which makes me want engineering to have guns if we have to put up with that kind of nonsense...
i like the idea of lings but jfc they are pretty much impossible to deal with. Unless youve been in the armory the ling can just kill you with no counterplay. Sec wont notice even if its reported and by then it doesnt matter since youre round removed. I really wish they would make ling less of a murderbone tank that stops people from playing the game
Sec figures out that other sec is a nukie only to be gibbed by arrivals. Nukie kills his commander then immediately dies to radiation. Just another night on the station.
Why is the admin giving you the run around mid gunfight? You are the Detective, and lying is not against any rule nor is it illegal as long as a prosecution hasn't been made, someone else validhunting and killing an innocent bystander is murder, a crime, and their own fault. Your admin buddy needs to play the game more and admin less.
The moment with the salv and the chine lake is something I have wanted to do for a long time. shame I can't FIND ANY OF THEM. (that was not me in the vid if that wasn't clear.)
I take pride in my engineering CE is my favorite role unfortunately engineering can be a mixed bag of inexperience and laziness and then I start to go crazy

Sometimes it feels like everyone in your department but you are morons
People tend to not listen to radio. Why do you think holopads were added? Most players have attention span of a goldfish

3:21 putting your thieving beacon by the toilet is an… interesting move.
19:49 you missed him saying “CHANGLING BROTHERS GO LOUD!”
Note, a compenent tider is 100% more useful than most sec officers
Detective tider which usess some illeegal?

1:59 sulfuric acid slime when??? Also, if you get attacked by an omnizine slime, does it just heal you?

Linga kind of HAVE to do this. They NEED to eat people to live, and the more they eat the more powers they get.

I hope that's played up for RUclips and not your actual internal monolog
When using the radio for communication it really does feel like trying to get information from a gang of toddlers.
700 views aint enough for this quality
The moment with the salv and the chine lake is something I have wanted to do for a long time.
shame I can't FIND ANY OF THEM.
(that was not me in the vid if that wasn't clear.)
i was the CE here i remember the armory repair
props to you!! lots of time will people wont care or they just make it with normal wall.
