I loved them growing up in NY. They never played the US so in April 2001 I went over to England specifically to see them at the London Palladium. Fantastic.
Tich Amey is one of the best guitarists this country ever produced - and get those harmonies. Tich was good enough to play bass for Hendrix on occasions.
¡¡Never I can't forget my induction at world of pop/rock music at 68's phenomenal!!!Im was a little boy of 9 years ; dancing with David Dee & Dozy ,Beaky,Mick and Tich ¡¡marvelous times ahhhh!!!
Dave Dee was a great performer......For the time that was a mean fuzz.......I remember it well...Although still good radio friendly pop, their later singles I considered too lightweight, as a Pretty Things and Stones record buyer.....During the 70s and 80's with the availability of cheap compilation albums I began to recognise this band as the high quality pop creators they were.....
Habe die Band in den 1990er-Jahren LIVE in FRANKFURT erlebt.Wunderbare Erinnerungen.Habe die Eintrittskarte noch 🎉🎉💥💃🔊🎵🎶🎼🎸 & 172 Concerte von AC/DC bis ZZ TOP 👍🫶🤪😃👌🎸🎼🎶🎵🎵💃💥
An Absolutely Monumental Belting Classic From These Great Artists. Unbeatable Vocals And Brilliant Harmonies. Remember Like It Was Only Yesterday. Thank You And God Bless Mr Dee For The Brilliant Legacy You And The Guys Have Left For Us To Enjoy. ❤❤❤
Excelente grupo, magníficas y rítmicas rolas; se oyen increíbles, la introducción, la batería, las guitarras y los demás sonidos y eso que en ese tiempo no existía la tecnología de ahora. Muchas gracias por el vídeo.
I like this song of Dave Dee & Co and remember those days the whole band passed by at my desk here in Holland checking their passports as an Immigration officer, nice guys.😀 ✋🏻
A charismatic and personable performance from Dave Dee, showing that the band were one of Britain's best musical assets in the 60s. By the way, Hold Tight WAS recorded in stereo - it just wasn't issued in that format until years later, as was the case with so many singles of that era. What chance a stereo edition of Pink Floyd's Arnold Layne?
Hold tight, count to three, Gotta stay close by me And hold tight, sing and shout Just ride my round-about And hold tight, shut your eyes, girl, You suit me for size. Forget the other guys. You'll never fall each time you call. Hold tight, hold tight, hold tight. Hold tight make me feel What you say is for real And hold tight, Carousel, girl, You'll soon ring my bell And hold tight, we will fly, Swinging low, swinging high. We're gonna make the sky. You'll never fall each time you call. Hold tight, hold tight, hold tight. Hold tight, count to three, Gotta stay close by me And hold tight, sing and shout Just ride my round-about And hold tight, shut your eyes, girl, You suit me for size. Forget the other guys. You'll never fall each time you call. Hold tight, hold tight, hold tight.
I have vague memories of hearing this on an AM clock radio that some how fell into my hands when I was a kid, over the noise and multipath reverberation. AM didn't match the techical quality of FM, but it added a sense of distance that made a song like this sound cool. It didn't chart in the USA, but it was a big hit in Boston and a few other cities.
Just discovering again the music of Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Titch. Strange I can remember listening to all their music when I was a kid and loving it but you never put a name to the group when you are a child do you! Another group I didn't get to see perform live, damn!
In many ways an Unusual pop Song, I think a little ahead of its time. Probably Should have made The Top Spot...but 4 was commendable with lots of Stiff Opposition in 66.🏴❤🏴❤
my mum and dad bought me their 1st album for my 13th birthday...it featured Kenny Everett doing the opening track called DD.D.B.M & T, it was a spoof intro to the band using a very similar backing track to that of Hold Tight
While scrolling down, I found this one. Really nice work John. Good to hear this one in stereo. I hope you will work on more British Invasion nuggets that would sound great in stereo. EdB
Death Proof, what's that? LOL I'm here listening to this because it's a classic 1960s track from a very successful English band. Subject closed, end of :-)
Remember that "Pete Townshend at one point consider forming a band with the members of the group Paddy, Klaus and Gibson, when Roger Daltrey was fired from the Who for a short time..."
Die 60er die Krönung der Musikgeschichte!!!
There's something special about music from the 50s and 60s; no other decade of music comes close
I saw these live at Butlins a few years before Dave Dee passed away - they were absolutely brilliant and still one of the best live bands I've seen.
Saw them at Butlin's, Bognor Regis 1969. A brilliant Live band.
I loved them growing up in NY. They never played the US so in April 2001 I went over to England specifically to see them at the London Palladium. Fantastic.
The best Song of Dave Dee & Co.
Killer 60's garage rock!!!
Tich Amey is one of the best guitarists this country ever produced - and get those harmonies. Tich was good enough to play bass for Hendrix on occasions.
R I P, dave dee and now dozy.

Forever linked to the best car crash scene in movie history!
Death proof ☠️ 👌🏻
On of my favorite Kurt Russell movies. He’s an expert villain
2023 and still loving this classic!
One of the lesser known classics👌

Yes, I think the sound was pretty heavy for the times back then!
@@veilofpersephone1480 the guitar tone was heavy, and the drums too. The rest of the song is poppy. A good combo imo 😎
Great group they appeared at Cradley heath in the 60s
Brilliant 👏
Man, surly, one of the best, dammit
One of my favourite bands growing up loved the name as well

Feel I was always born too late in the 70's, missed all these 60's classics, will always be there on my mind though.
Still a great sound in 2022. love this and so very many memories.
2023 lessgo
I first heard this song watching Tarantino's Death Proof

I have a stereo copy of Arnold Layne.
Love the camera sweep starting at the 01:33 mark; it goes great with the build-up.
bin 1956 geboren hab diese Gruppe von später Kindheit bis in die späten 70er erleben können einfach klasse
OH MAN, wo sind die Jahre hin😅😅, aber einer meiner LIEBLINGSBANDS aus den 60er❤❤❤
To me, they’re a like a cross between The Dave Clarke Five and The Hollies.
great band with a real edge .
Still sounds great after all these years ,heard the song on the adverts I thought I got this song love it 😊

Whow, they can do it, the best and a excellent song

Einfach super tolle Musik aus meiner Jugend! 😀😀

Los años 60's fueron muy dificiles por qué la competencia no era buena, era exelente!
Brilliant! Perfect sound synchronisation!
What an amazing young man. ❤❤
Awsome song I crank it when I hear it 🍺
Has an ELO and Bay Vity Rollers vibe.
YESSS love this song.
Great missing "Top Of The Pops" clip from 17/3/66
Thank you for this music. We needed you in the 60ies. We could depend on you !!!
Thank you Quentin for listening to this gem....
Well done on the remix. Good stereo and a nice clean sound. Other RUclips offerings have fairly poor audio.
Bought this when it came out ... Pommy band very popular in Australia, the media we're all over `em when they toured here.
Crazy how a gruesome scene from a movie, make you love the song playing from it. 😳😕....😌👐🕺HOLLLLLD TIIIIIIGHT!! 🤪😵
Super !🍺🍺🍺
Me encanta la melodía , excelente !! también el vídeo
RIP Tich
Super Gitarren Sound !!!
One of the catchiest songs ever written! Something about the phrasing on this one I never get tired of it!
Near the top of the charts when England won the World CupHappy Days.....................
Wellington Garage 1966. All the apprentice leaping up and down to this. Long hair great times. Now all bald anybody remember?

Stuntman Mike: "Now I gotta catch me my other girlfriends"😜
the only thing wrong with this track is the intro pity it wasn't longer it's the best part
Remember that "Pete Townshend at one point consider forming a band with the members of the group Paddy, Klaus and Gibson, when Roger Daltrey was fired from the Who for a short time..."
Dave Dee a former copper attended the fatal crash of Eddie Cochran in Bristol.
Superb
