I always drill and tap a hole install a Schrader valve he'll on Mazda rotary engines I used a valve stem out a tire it would fit perfect in the hole never leaked or came out the many I had done then I would pull out the Schrader valve giving a place for air to burp fill slow and never had issues on rear mount rad but I totally understand the situation

I've ben using Lucas 1975 on and in everything made me a believer in 83 5 star General V92 Detroit water in oil ran 11/2 gallons in it drove it 475 miles home never hurt nothing my old 68 boss 460 thick casting motor that's my 560 cubic. Motor with the dove c twist wedged heads 2.50 intake and 1.87 exhaust flow match with Victor 460 drive it on street we can go 125, over and be safe
You should get a vacuum fill cooling system tool. Will take you only a few minutes then to fill the cooling system and have zero air in the system. They are about 150$,worth every penny. Will also save you time with all the work you do maintaining your entire fleet or fords lol.

You need a vacuum filler for coolant system. They work awesome for stuff like that.

I put a radiator drain value at hie point of engine up front lets me fill fast when replacing water on back to back race's

go buy a air lift coolant system filler. can verify no leaks and fill in min. not hours. best 100 i ever spent

I'm betting there's a additive added to the water to soak up heat. There's additive that's called wetter water that helps heat soak.
