    ** REQUESTED VIDEO **
    After seeing my crocheted crown ear warmer in a previous WiP Wednesday video, I had a couple requests to do a tutorial on the crochet through the third loop specialty stitch.

    Thanks muchly, Robin!🤗 Great 3rd loop video. I have a few 3rd loop patterns I want to try, but my liitle pea brain couldn't figure it out.😂 I crochet for charity (mostly WUA) and now is the time for scarfs, hats, cowls, and I'm always looking for new stitch patterns to make into something warm for someone. You're right...this stitch will make a fabulous cowl, so I'm going to do that!. Thanks again. 🤗

    Very Cool Robin! Will have to try it. Right now I am fighting my way with decreasing on a corner to corner crochet blanket. Increasing was a piece of cake, decreasing...Ugh.....I have pulled out a full skein 2 times. I think I finally got it. I need to get this done this week for my mother in law who is 91. She is in New Jersey and baby it's cold up there!

      Aileen Kline C2C came out after I stopped crocheting so I’ve never made one. I’ve seen some amazing picture-ghans using the C2C. I love the way the stitch looks.

      @@rsislandcrafts One of the ladies in the crochet/knit group was doing it. I had her show me while I watched. I crochet left handed. So I had to do it a few times until I got the hang of it. On the decrease you are kind of forming a box on the last stitch. I was forming Mt Rainer! very rounded. All the videos ae right handed. Last night I played freeze frame about 20 times while I tried to reverse what I was seeing. Finally clicked. Unfortunately my stitch looks different because I pick a different spot in the chains to crochet. I left it because I liked it. Looks like a popcorn stitch as well as a shell.

      Aileen Kline I don’t remember seeing any popcorn stitches on the C2C Afghans 😂🤣 As long as you like It and It doesn’t fall apart I say stick with It. It’s been a few years but I remember Mikey from The Crochet Crowd showed right and left handed versions of stitches. Might be worth looking up his RUclips channel.

      Aileen Kline The name of the youtube channels is “Crochet Crowd”. I don’t know what his last name is though.

    Hey Robin! I found the crown ear warmer pattern and made 7 (five child-size and two adult). Once the third loop stitch is mastered, the pattern goes really quickly. As long as the yarn you’re using isn’t too splitty, it’s a fun pattern. Those treble stitches are a pain with splitty yarn!

      Excellent Bonnie! I'm sure everyone will love their crown ear warmers. They crochet up so fast it's easy to make a bunch. Once I worked the third loop stitch a few times it was easily to slide my hook in without looking. It does add a fun little detail to the piece. Splitty yarn is the worst.

    How do you know if you should go from back into third stitch or into the front

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  5 лет назад +1

      Linda Lee My suggestion would to be to place a locking stitch marker into the back side when you make the first row of this stitch. Then you would be able to tell easily if you are crocheting into the back or front side. Once you do a couple rows you should be able to easily tell which side you are on. With a little bit of practice you will soon be able to read your crocheting but in the beginning stitch markers can be very helpful. Did that answer your question?

    Can u do a video on how to make a pot holder

    • @rsislandcrafts
      @rsislandcrafts  3 года назад +1

      I’m sorry but I don’t crochet potholders. You could make two dishcloths and crochet them together. Bag o Day crochet has a simple hot pad tutorial that may help. m.ruclips.net/video/XWe3VOR5nQk/видео.html

    Hi Robin, can you do a short video on this term... DcJ in the round. it's in a pattern my friend has and it doesn't explain how to do it and I have no clue, I searched it out but all I got was double crochet join, which was different. The shorter(video) the better , so I can send it to her phone.

      Audrey Wilt I just did a quick search too and only found the dc join. Could you please send me the link to the pattern? Maybe I can figure It out from there. Thanks!
