Hello there! I only discovered your RUclips channel recently and I find it really helpful! I am in my first year of Biomedical Science and because of the circumstances of this year, I really struggled with finding out how I can get involved in anything really that would help me in the future. I tried reaching out for help from my tutor, but it didn't really help. Do you have any suggestion in this sense for a first year? What should I be focusing on from now on? Is there any chance for getting any sort of work experience or shadowing in the summer before sencond year? And if so, do you have any suggestions? And as a more general question, what should I work on in the years to come that would benefit me after graduation and finding a job? I'm only now starting to realise that in order to succeed in this career you have to get involved in lots of other activities beside uni and I'm not saying it is impossible, but it surely is harder now! Your university will probably announce any opportunities throughout your second year. This is what happened in my case. But it is also a good idea to email different lecturers who you think their research interests match yours. Bafta :)
