You need to massage your turbo carbon for a minute or two, whilst it's still in the packet, this will change the density of your carbon from been clumpy to a liquid, making it easier to fully mix into your wash, hence, your not wasting it.
11:03 in Russia man does not stir vodka, vodka stirs itself.

This comment is underrated
Should list the items in the description

Love the simplicity and the specific info.
Anyone can do this...)
Top work..!!😍😎
Holy Crap! Tate & Lyle sugar! Processed In Lafayette IN! My old stompin grounds. Thanks for the (mildy unpleasant) memories.
Very nice
Great video with simple step-by-step instructions. Thanks pal
I would use bottled water, tap water may contain lead, chlorine, ammonia,
In all my life I have never heard of using some of that stuff you list. I grew up with an old man who taught me how, and it was simply put water in to a copper vessel(still), add your starting fruit, grain, vegetable, add sugar, yeast, and leave to ferment until the proper time the light the fire underneath then allow the gas to enter the coil. Then you can put into a thumper, or just allow it to poor it out as liquid straight after as people in my family have simply done in the past. That list does not seem at like the knowledge I had as a kid, and even now.
+Fangadora Wolfen when do you ever add Fruit and Veg to a Vodka wash? if that's how you do it good luck to you, this is my way. This is more of a intro to home distilling and a simple recipe to get people started.
ass? I am not saying vodka(I should have been more clear), but liqueur in general. You use certain fruits(Hard cider-apples), or grains(Whisky-rye), or vegetables(vodka-potatoes). You just have to ferment whatever your going to use to create a liqueur. Wine in the same process is strengthened into brandy. Though things like wine need to age and ferment in a very different way than most if not all alcohol. Things like beer and gin have more recipes to hundreds of different flavors making them fairly unique in my opinion. I grew up in a household with an old moonshiner as a father. He taught me how it was done. Now that I think about it your way seems like an easy way just for people at home in areas where an alcohol still would have a hard time functioning, or around people who just want to make a small amount.
That is what Rickards did, burn hardwood without oxygen, the carbonated wood was placed in a large barrel and the alkohol was poured through it. Cleaned all the impurities out.
Thank you. I'm going to give your recipe a try.
Mix my mash in the bathroom too. Clean area, warm water, and a drain for any mess. Really is an overlooked tip
Greetings Moonshiner from California. Loved the video. I subscribed.
Can you post a link where u bought your 5gallon water container? I'd like to have the same containers for mash.
Thanks for the recipe, might be worthwhile telling people to disinfect first though moonshiner. But yeah again thanks I have just started my first batch!
your welcome James, let me know how you get on
Y u dissenfecting are u a dirty person never disinfect my shit. I've made beer and all and always turned out fine. Just wash it
For a alcoholic here. That will make me nice and buzzed. For a long time.. 👍
Thankyou for this video, you've made it all very simple to understand. Top marks mate!
Whats the output volume on your 5 gal mash? All said and done how much actual vodka do you expect?
good
That’s a nice bathroom, nice and clean.
Doug dimadome!?!?
Thank god, my comrades were about to run dehydrated
I think i did not wait for the next episode and started drinking this mixture
Love the descriptive way you present the tutorials. Can you display an ingredients list for Vodka? Thanks
Hi. Can i leave water sugar for 7 days in Stainless Steel container with air lock or only use plastic bucket ?
I followed this reciepe but I used 16 cups of sugar and everything was working the yeast started working fast but it stopped bubbling after 24 hours should I dump this batch and start over? or should I just move on to the next step ? or sould I wait the six days left and then finish the process. I put the tubo carbon in last and I used classic 8 turbo yeast and it was bubbling very fast. I never understood kg so I guessed is it too late to add more sugar?
I also dig the LED bathtub lights
Forget about the turbo shit! Use plain baker yeast. Also, how can yeast be "triple distilled"??? That' pure idiocy!
Kalle Klæp like anybody except him even gives a shit. If it gets me drunk, I don’t give a fuck.
@@pixelfish3395 Well, if you don't mind drinking garbage it's ok. I like to drink superior stuff that is properly fermented and distilled.
No disrespect here just a general observation, wouldn’t it make more sense to pour the sugar and yeast in as you fill the bucket up to make it easier and less storing possibly?
Great vid!.....be rude to not watch the whole series.
Subbed.
thank you curt
mine is smelling like rotten eggs, i followed the instructions to the letter so not sure where i went wrong? should i chuck it down the sink or is it still safe to use? i used all the still spirits products. much love
Great Video. Thank you very much. !!! As a business perspective why don't you sell products or link to a wholesaler who does? Cheers!
If i hae a dollar for Every time he said simple...
ID BE A MILLIONAIRE
I would like to do s small batch first so I need a recipe for 1 or 2 gal.
I'm going to try this for my birthday party 😂😂😂
Tip. You can effectively spread the use of one turbo yeast packet over (2) 5 gallon washes. How? Because of marketing. Yeast is a living organism and will multiply in ideal conditions. Something the turbo yeast manufacturers doesn't want you to know. They add plenty of nutrient into the packets for you to use one packet for two batches. I know because I've been doing it for YEARS. I still get the 20% yield after 5-7 days. Now the cost of using turbos isn't so bad is it?
wingmanalive I like turbos very much. I make my wash with about a kilo of malt (1.15 €) per 10 liters. This adds so much nutrients, that you need a teaspoon of turboyeast for 10 liters and it ferments even quicker and adds a nice malt flavour. Not much but its better then the yeast off flavour, that is also able to taste after refluxing it!
Nice.
My great-grandfather used to be a Moonshiner in Missouri my great-uncle used to run it in the St Louis during the prohibition
Nixes
Mom - where’s those 2 Effiin great bag of sugar I bought
it can be dangerous? it can transfer to methanol?
How much should yeast and turbo carbon, be put on this amount?
Hiya can you do a whisky mash and a corn one? Cheers fella
Extremely informational thank you my dude!
your very welcome Sebastian
can you use the same yeast as you use to make bread and baked goods?
that's true yeast is yeast the world over
Not really, there are thousands of yeasts and they produce widely different products in a mash.
Yes u can just it will affect flavor and quality and quantity. So use the good stuff
You will only get 5%
Bread yeast is kind of spacific to wheat, since it grows on wheat, no you want a yeast that grows on what your fermenting.
lol. My North Carolina neighbor used a garbage can like kettle, cooked it (stearlized), and threw veggies in, including peppers. Then worked in his garden while the kettle cooled. I did not see any cooking, no distillation, this is just a fancy sugar wash, which people in NC would have thrown out in the day, and been angry.
Those who know say 'avoid anything with Turbo in it's name'. Why? Because this type of yeast produces a great deal more of the unpleasant compounds in the foreshots - that's why you have to resort to activated charcoal in an attempt to remove them. Better is to use a wine yeast such as a 'champagne' yeast which produce far less of the nasties.
it is safe to use a plastic container to make the vodka ?
I imagine some hillbilly dude in rural Louisiana NOT following the recipe exactly : "DARLENE, I CAN'T SEEE, taste good though".
hello, great video I have 2 questions if you can kindly help first is I wanted to know how do you dilute the vodka to get it to 80% proof can you use normal or mineral water second question is how long can you store the vodka after its made is there a time limit hope to hear from you soon.
Hi Mohammed. to answer your first question. you dilute to alcohol with spring water to your chosen proof. the answer to your second question is the time would be tens of years, there are whiskeys old as 60+ so it would be a long time
The Moonshiner thank you for your help top man.
I have two q plz answer, is turo charcoal & activated charcoal r same? , What is the alternative for air look is it necessary or I can just cover it and it would be fine. Great video
When you can't afford your smirny addiction anymore but you still like boozing!
How match by kg using yeast ? For 25 liters of water

I LOVE YOU MAN. GREETINGS FROM HAWAII.
thank you, Hawaii is defo in my holiday destinations list for sure
@@TheMoonshiner01 Can you explain how come no potatoes were used to make this vodka. I thought vodka was made using potatoes
I make bread at home and pour the yeast and sugar at the same time before pouring water. Why all the added work after the water is poured?
could an extra 4 L of water destroy my fermentation for making vodka.r instead of using a 25l bucket I used a 50l bucket with this matter to the fermentation.because I got no gas coming up from mine
Hey there dear moonshiner. I'm writing to ask you about the sugar. Actually i was told that you need fruit based sugar to make vodka.something like raisin which is widely used in iran.is sugar by itself enough for the process?ond also i might not be able to get all those fancy stuff.is it ok to skip them?
Yeast how many giram and turbo carbon how many giram sir after mixing how many days keep in room
i made a mash with sugar, malt potatoes and yeast. It went warm at first and cooled down. When i went back to it, it smelled like Vinegar. Any ideas why??
Is it possible to use alum Rock instead of carbon will it act the same way
why use air lock this turbo yeast ferments at such high rate you dont need an air lock no matter what brand you use, agree with turbo carbon as it gets rid of any nasty impurities in the wash after fermantation completes
Steer it up bro!
Thank you so much for sharing. I just bought a Bighorn still and want to make 94% or better alcohol to use for cannabis oil extraction. The 94% grain alcohol available here is $96cdn per 1.1l. I have only just now unboxed the still and am researching what other equipment I need and the process used for making mash and distilling. I believe I found all my information in your videos.
You say your finished product is 70%. Do I just reprocess my finished product to increase the % and add water to decrease to a more palatable 40% if I want to make drinking vodka?
Justin Pentercost 94% is impossible with a pot still. You can get 85% then you are good, but that isn't like the 94%. It still has a taste. What you want is a reflux still. My one costs nearly nothing, but can produces 94%! Just google it, the building and using it is a great fun.
If you have questions ask them!
hi moonshiner , great vids btw , i got a kit for crimbo , for 21l% vodka just coming to end of fermentation , then the clearing stage . but my question is the kit doesnt mention the distilling process does this process increase the abv % ? cheers
I've tried them kits and didn't like it. if you want to make true spirits you have to distil
I like the blue neon light under the tub! It adds a certain ambience in his quest to make this delicious intoxicant! All hail the Vodka God of the Earth!!🤪🤪🤪
Hi i love your still recepies i have tryed to make the vodka one i follewed your instructions but i have a problem the yeast as stopped working and the alchole is only showing 5% can you help me
if you followed all the steps as listed it should work. The only things to check would be your starting water temp 30c - 40c. The temp of the location where fermentation is taking place 16c - 25c. the type of yeast you used.
do you think you could use a fish tank heater to keep a more accurate temperature with the wash wile it is fermenting
+Charles Buchanan I cant see why not. I haven't tried it as I have my fermenting tubs inside so the temperature is kept the same
why leave it for 7-10 days if turbo yeast is suppose to work it off in 24 hrs?
thought he was gona say ..just to get you pissed..lol
nice video.i live about 4500 miles south of london.i don't have 3×distilled turbo yeast so can I use some chinese bakers yeast??
I'm not sure what is mixed in with baking yeas, I've never used it before in distilling sorry.
Question about quantities. You say to use 8 kg of sugar. That is 17 lbs. right? Also, you keep mentioning to use 25 liters of sugar/water solution. That is 6.6 gallons approximately--but you are using a 5 gal bucket. I'm just trying to get the ratios correct.
I'm from the UK so we use liters. 25ltrs are 5.4 Imperial Gallons (6.6 US Gallons)
Good video pal
thank you
Great video mate, thanks for sharing. I started my first 'turbo' brew the other day...must admit my heart sank when i added the carbon, looks like 40 pints of ink! haha. Hopefully the turbo klar will sort it out though.
I have subscribed.
Why is the water sound running when it’s not in the fast motion stirring sugar part?
Great video! But is there a way to make your own triple distilled turbo yeast? How is it made? And what about the turbo carbon?
There no such thing as triple distilled yeast triple distilled is the amount you distill your spirit it's just yeast what is a little cleaner than normal turbo crap if u want a gd decent drink try a birdwatchers recipe or tpw tomamato paste wash same thing really
@moonshiner does the yeast "dissolve" the same way that the sugar does? I mean do you stir it in until you can't see it anymore?
Yes
can i use powdered activated carbon as found in the aquarium bags of carbon as i can't find the liquid carbon
Yes Leagh you can use both. I use that type of granulated carbon at the end of the process in a water filter
Does the sugar replace the potatoes?
can you put a link for the yeast you used and the carbon please
Aren't you supposed to filter the water first? Tap water contains chlorine. Not good for the yeast.
If your tap water has chlorine in it, boil it or let it sit in a vessel for a few days, so the chlorine can draw off.
Alternatively, use bottled water.
+Kalle Klæp
My tap water has no chlorine in it. There is no water or sewer service where we live. We have our own deep well and a ceptic tank.
City municipal water always has some chlorine in it to prevent any bacteria or viruses growing in the piping. This is why I mentioned chlorine.
Ray_Biker Your own well...excellent..! That's even better than bottled water for mashing and fermenting. i live in Denmark, here we can drink the city water right from the tap...no chlorine in it. In my neck of the woods, the water is a bit hard due to the limestone in it, but that doesn't matter for my ferments. On the contrary, the limestone lowers the PH level which is fine. Yeast is happy around a PH of 4,5 to 3,5...anything higher or lower causes unpleasant byproducts or even dead yeast cells (fermentation crashes).
I live in a part of the UK where all our water comes from a natural underground spring, apart from the bacterial screening the water company do. it is as fresh and clean as mountain spring water
Chlorine evaporates once it reaches air
I watched all four videos. I thought that vodka was supposed to be made using potatoes. How come you're not using them?
Hot water from your tap comes with all the shit out you boiler , bad idea pal , boil it on the stove fresh clean water 👍👍
karl alton but when water boils all the microbes get done did dead
Unless you're on a closed loop, which is most people.
All I can think of when he was mixing the sugar in with the water is Men in Black.
Why the two cameras? In case we forgot what your hair looks like?
it just looks a bit more professional, but a hard to edit
Fuck that guy, I loved the video.
To be honest here I like the "4th wall" effect it has
For the production value
Out of curiosity, what do you use to avoid methanol poisoning? I've heard this is a serious concern when brewing hard liquor as opposed to beer.
+Do Over Gaming its all in my 3rd part Video. you should always though away the heads (first part of the run) as methanol and acetone have a lower boiling point to evaporate off first.
got that exact brew on right now after watching this cheers :)
+Luke Busch let me know how you get on
Shouldn't it be stored somewhere outside? The CO2 in high concentrations can be dangerous
Not nearly enough with brewing to be a hazard.
Did u get the second camera to get ur mullet
Good start. 25 litre bucket, 25 litres vodka?, i may be disappointed.
Kin ell mate 👍 bathtub vodski
Trust me on this: the folks who have been doing this for a long time do NOT have British accents but they DO drive hot cars (usually with bald tires).
So informative mate, would you say this saves money from buying (even the sainsburys basics) store Vodka?
Conor O'Brien are you conan son 😂?
its mutch cheaper than even the cheapast brands
Fuck no u can get some cheap ass vodka for like 15 dollars a bottle u fig the time and expenses of all of it and it's not cheaper
@entice I drink 11 dollar bottles of Vodka and if i just stick with Vodka, no headaches.
