Allzeit gute Fahrt!!
If you're interested in my opinion about the Z900's rideability you'll have to watch this video please: ruclips.net/video/-_FmEM4a3_Y/видео.html Please excuse the metallic clanging noise you can sometimes hear! Hope it's not too bad!
thanks, not trying to be properly fast. But if you want to help me improve you need to be more specific. Keep in mind that I had almost zero experience with the bike and the outside conditions were very bad. I'm listening:
Schaaf Your throttle control is very abrupt which destabilises the bike, meaning you are less fluid (read slower) in corners. You are also too anxious to shift up even seconds before entering a turn, meaning that you are wasting too much time and concentration changing gears instead of focusing on braking later, entering the curve at the right speed and following an optimal line. Short shifting an engine like the one on the Z900 also means that you are not using the power and torque rev range to its full extent. Shifting up clutchlessly as harsh as you do it also destroys your gearbox.
Awesome Schaaf! I am not brave enough to ride fast on such roads :) At 3:59, I could see the powder/gravel on the road getting sprayed from rear tyre of GS. Kudos to you two! Hope that GS guy stumbles upon this video :)
Oh my... !!! 😍 That's so cool to see you guys riding these 2 awesome bikes how they deserve to be ridden on this beautiful road. I'm especially surprised by the GS rider, as most of them are wise middle-aged men who go easy on the throttle...
In shitty road conditions a GS is stupid fast it will eat bumps and bad tarmac like its nobodys business, in a good road i can always leave behind my friend in his GS but when we ride in very bumpy/poorly mantained roads I strugle to keep up with him. After seeing panniers almost touching the ground with adv tires...... yeah that shit is crazy
Some friends of me "middle aged" like you stupidally have said, would play with you (and your cheap and albanian bike) like cat with a mouse, riding a gs. Probably you will be a child of 18 years old. Cheers from ITALY boy
An overtake on that road would have been bad in those conditions. The BMW would have defended his lead and you would have had to go way to fast. Smart riding. I see gravel, I go slow.
GS with its wide bars, awesome firm yet plush suspension, and a torquey ass motor= no slouch!👍 great video, I used to have a 1987 GS back in the day...they've always handled very well in the twisties.
That was a fantastic dual, you and Mr GS certainly went for it full on considering the conditions. I have to say Mr GS was not at all what i expected, a lot of GS riders are older slower riders (i mean no offence, i just think they have the money and want the best for them in comfort, power and reliability and i don't blame them). I am so glad you made that ride on that day at that time because the end result was thrilling!! Thank you and as always Ride (and speed) Safe.
I like coming across riders who are willing to play a bit. 90% of people will be happy to putter along in traffic or go at 30-40mph in the twisties and never really attempt to do any faster-ish riding. There is this one GS guy who I sometimes "race" around with on motorway... don't know the guy other than this brief stretch of motorway we happen to converge upon at the same time. All legal speeds just some crazy filtering between cars to see who can get to the exit first (luck would have I never have my camera when he shows up...). It makes the occasional ride back home from work memorable. I'm surprised he can squeeze that thing through some of the gaps I barely fit through on my MT09 :)
I never really even touch the corners of my back tire in 14000 miles on my R6s. Then I realized hey I live in Michigan and I can't think of any roads that have corners. I've never had the pleasure riding on something twisty like this.
So got a chance to test ride the Z900 today. Great bike, best suspension of any bike I've ridden. Also weird getting THAT much mid-range torque from a 4 cylinder haha, I'm used to 600s.
you're one brave soul to ride like that on a gravel infested cold roads and if I remember good kawasaki stock tyres are not exactly confidence inspiring...but that could be just me 😁 as always pleasure to watch 👍, im of to Alpes on Sunday so we might cross our paths 😉

Danke!
That's a knarly section of road complete with drop offs and trees. I'll catch up to you guys at the next rest stop. Bike sounds good. I'm still a fan despite the negative reviews by some on the bike's looks. I must say though, now the new RS looks mighty sharp, especially in black.

The GS rider probably knew better his bike than you on the Z. And many time I saw you taking more clever lines. I'd love to see you going to the French Moto Tour (longest in the world ? 1week of pure biking for all bikers with any bike) and post RAW videos !!!
Great onboard!! I'm curious.. are there signs on the road letting you know how tight the corners are? Or do you both know the road well enough to blitz it and anticipate each corner? I find myself in lots of trouble if I'm going hard on a road without knowing it super well / not having signs. For example, a turn might have a "25 mph" sign before it and I judge my entry speed based on the sign. With so many blind corners I'm just surprised you seem to know exactly what to expect!
Out of the many disadvantages the GS had one advantage- It's suspension is plush as fuck, so he'd barely be feeling all the undulations in that road. Good rider too!
Nice Video! That is one of the dangerous road in Austria. This year in April 2019 two People died in a frontal crash, because one of them want to overtake a car. R.I.P. to tow Familys!!!
Stimmt leider!
Sehr sehr geiles Video Schaaf!!
sorry dude, did not mean to hurt your feelings... its just me trying to get to know your motives... keep on riding with a smile, than we can keep on watching your videos with a smile...
A lot of people on here that a GS will wheelie ..... I have the new 1250 turn off that traction control make sure pro plus is on ( anti wheelie ) is now turned off 1 2 3 it will do it all on its own, when you hit hard lol
Just one thing: try to be a little more consistent with the speed. I see you opening and closing the throttle quite a lot. This way you only lose time and momentum in the corners. It's better to have some more speed coming in the corner than opening and closing again.
Fast belongs to the racetrack IMO. If you're interested in my opinion about the Z900's rideability you'll have to watch this video please: ruclips.net/video/-_FmEM4a3_Y/видео.html I collected a couple of thoughts in the video description
I didn't mean it like that. Everybody knows I like to ride fast from time to time. The next and final Z900 upload for example will be much quicker because I purposely tested its capabilities. I'd just never try to go as fast as I can on the open road. That would mean riding on my limits. And probably would end ugly rather quickly. I get your suggestion although it confused me a bit because my CB500 uploads actually prove that I know quite a lot about carrying momentum into corners. Otherwise I wouldn't be able to hold up with literbikes. In this case of this video I'd also thought it would be more obvious why I was operating the throttle a lot and didn't carry more speed into the corners. The grip levels were bad. I simply didn't dare to enter most corners any faster. Because then I'd have left my comfort zone. Which is a No-No for me on public roads.
Hahaha this gs guy i know very well at this track, i teached him the same lesson he gave you but fully on regular side of street only. He was several times totally frustrated that he couldnt catch up with me, but a real smart guy. Nice ride guys.

true that!!
@@Schaaf Diavel vs Z 900...thoughts..?
Very bad lines, the GS 😷
Here's my thumb of approval for a very high-quality video :)
thumb and heart of approval for a high-quality comment!

Schaaf Please help me to gain some subscriber
Only if you help me to gain some money
Schaaf , you need to be way smoother and much more fluid if you want to be properly fast. Your riding is unsettled and inefficient.
thanks, not trying to be properly fast. But if you want to help me improve you need to be more specific. Keep in mind that I had almost zero experience with the bike and the outside conditions were very bad. I'm listening:

"Smiling brightly", that's how I was during the whole video haha ! Great to see you riding, as always !
glad you enjoyed! Thanks Baptiste!

Very impressive editing skills on the dash, I'll have to take notes 👍

That's a knarly section of road complete with drop offs and trees. I'll catch up to you guys at the next rest stop. Bike sounds good. I'm still a fan despite the negative reviews by some on the bike's looks. I must say though, now the new RS looks mighty sharp, especially in black.
Interesting, I especially like its looks :D
The Sugomi design is very aggressive and i guess some folks dont like that. The RS has more power down low but loses top end. Its components are superior mainly because they are fully adjustable. For me its not worth the price especially when you look at how little you are getting by paying 2500€ more than for the standard model.
I think the RS looks more comfortable as well. Nicer seat for longer rides.
You are very brave wich that tires!! Aren't realy good. I enjoy a lot wachind a video!
Thanks
Thanks bro ❤️ ❤️❤️

Why you didn't pull the clutch while change the transmission up...?

Awesome video! Love my Z900!
nice! Thanks!
I got a 2009 R1200GS, and it handles well on twisty roads. It looks a 250kg brick but on good hands it could be a difficult ride to follow
the GS handles amazingly actually :)

we know the road quite well indeed.

It's funny that most people I know they would find these kind of roads a nightmare, but I look forward to ride or drive on roards like these :D
you know weird people then mate :O

Out of the many disadvantages the GS had one advantage- It's suspension is plush as fuck, so he'd barely be feeling all the undulations in that road. Good rider too!

Durchaus!
You can see the road condition isn't great, your riding is so smooth ;)
indeed!!

thank schaaf .conclusion the Gs is better but the multi is pure cuore jaja
7:50 holy heck that’s a lot of bikes! I have to come live there ;D

I know its an old video but watching this ngl the Z900 seems like a real slouch, no get up and go at all.
it definitely isn't

Will you make videos like this on a gs? You go really strong!! Fantastic
I would love to! Maybe later this year I'll find one to test ride under decent conditions!
ok thanks

Alles klar, danke :)
Leimer
loved this vid! I noticed that in the last couple of your uploads, you blur the image when you check your lens. Why do you do that?
too hot to handle
Because it's "not him riding the bike" ;)
Haha, sharp answer, but it actually doesn't answer anything...
I don't need to answer everything. Plus it already got answered. Please do a bit of thinking yourself :)
sorry dude, did not mean to hurt your feelings... its just me trying to get to know your motives... keep on riding with a smile, than we can keep on watching your videos with a smile...
you live in paradise
I do
@@Schaaf you are a good dood! ride safe homey!
Great vid mate, can you please tell me where this is? I must go there
He even had time to say hi to rider in reverse lol so easy for him
yea
If you will ever visit Arona (Lago maggiore) in italy, let me know!!! :D
okay
It goes without saying, that tractors do handle gravel better than most
true that ;)
And rides better in most conditions not only gravel..
I'm suprised by the accellerations of that GS compared to the z900. that thing must have a sh*tload of torque.
It has! Especially down low!
I guess I have to try one :)
What a nice place to ride!
Yea!
I do not understand those 13 people that dislike this video..
I do. You can't please everyone :) Thanks Mark
It was wonderful! deu. " wunderbarın " :D Excited riding and so scared :D
thanks :D
The gs is a heavy pig until you get it off the stand. It handles the twisties way better than it would seem possible
Absolutely
Witch is the name of the location...!? Is in Canada!? Say me PLEEEASE I love it! 🔝🤜🏼🤛🏼❤️
Ochssattel in Austria, mate
A lot of people on here that a GS will wheelie ..... I have the new 1250 turn off that traction control make sure pro plus is on ( anti wheelie ) is now turned off 1 2 3 it will do it all on its own, when you hit hard lol
Yup
Just one thing: try to be a little more consistent with the speed. I see you opening and closing the throttle quite a lot. This way you only lose time and momentum in the corners. It's better to have some more speed coming in the corner than opening and closing again.
I'm not trying to ride fast, I try to have fun. Thanks for the suggestion still
Fast is fun :D
p.s. How do you like the new Zed? I can only hear praise, analog beast and stuff...
Fast belongs to the racetrack IMO.
If you're interested in my opinion about the Z900's rideability you'll have to watch this video please: ruclips.net/video/-_FmEM4a3_Y/видео.html I collected a couple of thoughts in the video description
I didn't say supersonic stupid fast hehehe.
Z900, Street triple 765RS or KTM duke 790? :)
street triple
@@Schaaf Thank you! :D
Only if maxwrist was here with you guys xD
he'd probably be shitting himself on a slippy road like that
mt09 or z900? love your videos
depends on your needs
Would a Z900 be a good upgrade from an Sv650?
absolutely
👏nice riding,where is the road?
I don't know why but Z900 looks like some muscle cruiser like the Ducati Daivel.
cool
the speedo show on the Z900 was in mph or km/h?
kph
Du schaltest ohne Kupplung. Hat die Z900 einen Quickshifter? Lass mich nicht dumm sterben :D
Super Video!
Hahaha this gs guy i know very well at this track, i teached him the same lesson he gave you but fully on regular side of street only. He was several times totally frustrated that he couldnt catch up with me, but a real smart guy. Nice ride guys.
cool
