It’s very cool . In Canada those are $1600 new. I found a used Honcho for $750 and pulled the trigger. Baja Pro X with some upgraded foams and aluminum beadlocks , brass diff covers, clipless hood latch from Fine Laser Designs is a life saver when opening the body. I run it on 4S , much better that way. As far as worth the money, for me it is only because I found a second hand unit. If I had to pay for brand new I would not have one. The usual areas I take my 1/10 trucks, the Honcho just rolls over without any bother. You sort of have to find new places to challenge a truck this size . Keep your eye out for a second hand Honcho, I think you’ll really like it 👍
Oh wow, that's even more expensive! I thought we were milked like cash cows in the UK, but that's worse! 😬 Yeah you'd definitely have to find new challenges. I don't rock crawl as often as I trail, so I honestly don't think I'd use it as much. I'd just end up sending it in the mud destroying diffs and gears! 🤣🤦
Awesome review! Probably the most valuable review of this RC I have watched. What have we let the world come to though, I remember buying full size jeeps for less than $1k.......
Thanks very much, appreciate it. 👍 It's crazy isn't it! I'd love one, but sometimes you just can't justify the spend, especially when you know you're going to throw even more money at it! 😬
Thanks very much, appreciate it. 👍😁 If we were in person this would be one of those awkward Man moments, do we shake hands, fist pump, chest bump or just look awkwardly into each other's eyes! 🤣🤣🤣 Ahem...yeah...thank you. 🤣👍😁
I love watching these in video, so much more realistic looking driving over the rocks! They are awesome trucks and I would love to have a Honcho but since I don't have a worthy spot to drive it so I can't justify the price tag. Not really worth the $1000 to just drive around in the woods, I would want big rocks that would challenge it!
Yeah totally agree, it ate up most the terrain in my woods except the mud. It's certainly too expensive to be a shelf queen! 🤣😬 Was great fun on the rocks. 👍💪
What a machine! Great video, it was really good to see a rig perform so well. I reckon, chuck some portals on and it could get over a small bungalow!! 😎 Thanks for all the brilliant content! 👍
In my opinion, cost isn’t necessarily the issue-there are plenty of vehicles of smaller scale knocking on the door of $1000. Competition vehicles of all genres will be knocking on the $1000 mark, my last comp crawler in 2012 was $1200, not counting the transmitter. The question for me would be where I would run this that would be challenging, hence fun. All my 1/10 crawl and scale vehicles are plenty capable for the terrain I have as is. I would have to find terrain that would be scale to this rig.
Yeah very true, plus if you're in a group and no-one else has one, it's probably not as fun. The challenge is definitely part of the fun, one of the reasons I really enjoyed the RC4WD 1982 Pickup with leafs, everything was harder! 🤣 I do fancy a Vanquish at some point. 👍
Have a 1/8 MJX H8H Defender in the mail on the way to me right now. For $333 I couldn’t pass it up. Have you seen the new Rlaarlo JK07 Pro? Full tent, pull out awning, tables and chairs, brushless, 3 speed working windshield wipers, and a bunch of other great stuff.
I haven't no, couldn't bring myself to pay for the Rlaarlo as its pricey. The MJX I was tempted by, but tbh I wasn't convinced it would be that good! 😬 I am tempted by the new Rlaarlo though with the scale awning etc, that does look awesome but again very expensive! 😬
🤣 True, although I certainly wouldn't pay that much for a tenth scale, stupid money! Yeah I'm sure it's running a 60kg or so servo, but still seemed like it needed more tbh. 👍
@ if your rough on it like I am with mine the rod ends become a weak point and once I put a set of treal links it was solid side to side, no more slop. Ended up doing the treal axles links and driveshafts powerhobby servo and aluminum wheels with proline hyrax and 3bro’s antifoams. Stock motor and esc but this thing is a tank. It’s so much for for slow crawling or trails with larger obstacles. Wish I could convince a few more people to scoop one up cause it sucks being the only one at the meet, more often I just leave it at home and grab a 1/10 off the shelf as to not piss anyone off for going off scale:(
For 1600 dollars I buy myself a real 4x4 and I'm going to crawl for real. It's expensive, way too expensive for what it is. Axial should be careful not to take people for pigeons, I'm not talking about Traxxas who also happily abuse their prices. I bought a scx24 base camp 10 days ago and I have to say that it's really crap!! Personally I went to FMS for the 1/18 and to element RC for the 1/10 the prices are very good and the quality is there. The big brands should never forget that they became "big" thanks to the customers and what the customers have done they can undo.
Yeah I'm not sure I could bring myself to pay the price tag tbh! That's what's always put me off buying one. The SCX24 Base Camp does look rubbish, they just seem to be churning out the same crap with a different paint job, like oooh look we painted it a different colour, it's great! 😬🤣 FMS and Hobbyplus are definitely leading the way with the mini crawlers atm. I was a bit disappointed with my latest Element purchase tbh. I forked out for the Bushido Plus and it wasn't worth the £400 price tag imo.
@@DoURC For the rc element I bought the basic ECTO, it is not bad and scalable, it is especially the cheapest. For the mini, I also have a Hobbyplus with a furitek venom combo inside, they are superb real crawlers for a fair price (in Europe 180 euros 200 dollars). I bought axial and traxxas for years but today my view has changed on these companies that only seek to make a profit with the same "repainted" crap. To be frank, Hobbyplus, FMS and maybe cross RC or Gmad are much better than traxxas or axial today. When you see the latest fms LC80 at 1/10!! Absolutely magnificent and it works super well for a more than reasonable price (350 euros here in France, around 380 dollars).
@bidibulle6795 Yeah I love my Hobbyplus CR18P Evo Pro. I think it's the best performing and best value mini crawler if you're not looking for scale. 👍 I'm in the UK, so everything costs a bit more here than the US unfortunately. Sounds like they're possibly cheaper in France. 👍

I've wanted one since they came out. However, the cost isn't the only reason, its where the heck am I going to store the giant thing :D
🤣 Yeah they are massive! When I told my wife I was borrowing one to do a video, the expression on her face was priceless! 😬🤣🤣🤣
Man. You do an awesome job. Your a nature. You’re honest, charismatic person. And also great shots by the way. Nice rig.
Thanks very much, appreciate it. 👍😁

I think that its good for the price. That thing is a beast on the rocks!
It was a beast on the rocks. I think it's still a bit pricey though! 😬
Rad. Maybe it did so well because the rocks are 1/6 too? :)
🤣 Maybe 👍
It's a pretty cool rig. I will work my way up. I am thinking about the H 10 optic build kit for my next RC. A step up from my minis.
That would be a very nice step up, I've fancied a Vanquish for a while now. 👍😎
What a machine! Great video, it was really good to see a rig perform so well. I reckon, chuck some portals on and it could get over a small bungalow!! 😎 Thanks for all the brilliant content! 👍
🤣 Yeah on the rocks it was a machine. It just kept surprising me and did look great on the rocks. 👍😎
That Jeep is Awesome and have a Great Good Looks!
For my like is way big!!!
They have an awesome presence don't they and dies look cool. 👍
An SCX6 with a Hobbywing AXE combo and a Flysky Noble nb4+ would be an awesome set up.
Yeah, I was quite impressed with the stock slow speed control tbh, especially for such a big rig. 👍

Have u tried the rlaarlo mk-07 big scale crawler, or the mjx big crawler?

these are awesome, i want the honcho version 👍👍👍😀
Yeah same here, just a lot of money to buy one! 😬
Well with vanquish dropping a 1/10th h10 optic kit for $3,500 I think this price seems very reasonable. I love mine. You will need links and a servo
🤣 True, although I certainly wouldn't pay that much for a tenth scale, stupid money!

Yeah, it has to have a steering servo... and i swapped out the motor and esc to give it more wheel speed in the mud.
Ah nice. 👍
I would loved to have pushed it harder in the mud, but didn't want to break it. It did seem to just sink though.
Nothing to do with the vid but how do you put more power into the battery cuz min only last at least 30 min
What battery are you using? If you're charging it to full capacity, you'll get runtime relative to the capacity and how you're using it. 👍
@DoURC 500 mAh
@Oliver-o4q For a mini crawler is it?
lol this is insane. Wish traxxas had a version too.
Would love if traxxas made a brushless 1/6 scale too!
Yeah, more bigger rigs from others would be great, although can you imagine the price if Traxxas did one! 😬🤣
@ yeah they’d be costly, but I also think they’d be force to innovate.
Cool and all, however, I decided to build my own 1/6 lighter and cheaper with hardbody.
Oh nice, I need to build my 8x8 thos year, it's an itch I need to scratch.
Building your own is way more satisfying too, well done. 👍😎
no it not worth $1000.00
🤣🤣🤣👍

I want an scx6 but the hobby shops in my country are charging $1400usd lol
Ooooh that's pricey! 😬
