- Martin Barkey and his MBRP team visited our Quick Lane Location to install the first Prototype Exhaust system on the all new Ford 7.3 Godzilla F250 Tremor. Check out the driving impression and deep throat exhaust note.
You asked. The System is ready. We just added a 20 Second Sound Clip of the completed 4” MBRP System to our channel.
......some dudes just love the sound of their own voice.........
Some guys have qualified ears. ruclips.net/video/9aCLyLSWqO4/видео.html
Two ears, one mouth. It's that way by design...
That might be true! For those of us that don't have "qualified ears," whatever that means, it is tough to hear the truck as he continues to ramble on. The majority of the people clicked on this video to listen to the truck. I think this video is clickbait. You should rename the title Martin Barkey drones on in a new Superduty......That would be a more accurate description.
The more I see how that 10 speed trans shifts the more I like it.
My buddy claimed his raptor would fight to get into overdrive making it very on off for acceleration. It's either in the peak of the powerband or in overdrive. They are good preformers.
I’ve heard exhaust leaks louder than this.
super250duty Lots of development to go. Thank he forward resonator might have to go for full on Big Block.
@@BlackstockFord ya it would do good without resonators i think
🤣😂
i've had some pretty big exhaust leaks. but i've heard stock truck exhaust louder than this.
Good video, but if you're making a video for an exhaust system, please don't talk so much! Everytime I was trying to hear exhaust notes, you were talking! Also, if you want the viewer to see the decimeter, try and get the glare off the screen. Thank you.
@Michael Spizzirri Agreed 100%. However he does make all valid points. Just wait until after you do the sound test to mention your initial impressions.
Michael Spizzirri Valid points. We had 37 mins of footage and rushed to edit under 10 mins. Jim Carson used his iPhone impromptu to video. He didn’t even realize the MBRP Designer was sitting beside him with decimeter! The at cruise reading was 67db up-to about 83 at WOT. MBRP is developing many combinations to test.
Two weeks later and MBRP has their new 2020 F-350 7.3 Gas. Let the testing begin!
My 7.3 KR tremor was built this week at KTP. Can't wait to get her and start the Mods. this might be my 1st. thanks for the info.🇺🇸
sandman62 Awesome congrats. What colour did you get?
@@BlackstockFord Star white over stone ,, only way to get 2tone and no chrome and tremor package.
@@sandman6298 you getting a tune done for it?
My left ear enjoyed this video.
I have heart burn LOL
I am ready for someone to supercharge this motor. 3, 2, 1, GO!
Life On the Road Our HotShot Life You know it’s gotta be coming soon. 👍
I think it’s a pretty good start for aftermarket exhaust. My personal opinion is that maybe that large resonator or muffler toward the front, could be sacrificed for a smaller resonator. Saying this I do realize the need to balance good sound and keeping the noise and drone down in the cabin area.
J Sager Great observations. That is exactly the observation Martin made off camera. Will a Resonator Delete cause drone, what impact will it have on performance etc. That 7.3 develops a LOT of bottom end Torque. 400+ ft lbs at 1,600 ROM. media.ford.com/content/dam/fordmedia/North%20America/US/2019/08/01/2020SuperDutyPickupHPTorqueCurve.jpg Thanks for your comment
Just placed the order for my 2020 350. Can't wait to let the horses sing.
FORD is #1 no questions asked.
Far too quiet. External mic and a gopro would help your setup greatly.
Why spend 1000$ on an exhaust when it’s like 4 decibels louder than stock? Just do cutouts and have the sound when you want it, and stock when you don’t.
3 decibels is exactly double the sound 133 percent is a decent gain
Justin Turdhole in that moment I’d forgotten it’s nonlinear. however I do not know what the actual decibel gain is. It may be far less than 4 decibels.
My point is that it is not noticeable compared to stock. Why spend or try justifying spending so much money on it?
Put some headers on it, delete a couple mufflers and maybe replace them with a nice set of Borlas. That’s a performance exhaust. If you want flow but don’t want loud, do headers / stock exhaust but have cutouts.
Also don’t try to say you pick up power with this muffler swap, considering you still literally have the factory setup in terms of flow. The Catalysts/headers is where any power will be made if any, even a proper catback (which this isn’t, really) rarely makes any gains on a dyno.
I really do not see the point of this system.
Alex Fry your comment was on decibels and wasting money on this exhaust , they made bold gains I’ll give you that , until it’s on the dyno who knows, but on sound the audio doesn’t do anything justice. I had a bored , stroked , cammed dual exhaust raptor and the sound off the video was pathetic. It hit 121db and if I rode without ear plugs I’d have ringing in my ears for a good day and a half.
On my 15 Ford 6.7 diesel I have the 4" Cool Duals and they have been flawless for the last 5 years. I have a 7.3 Godzilla coming and want a similar set up to that. Duals for the look and the sound is perfect
Good luck bud... just picked mine up and the exhaust shop said there is no room for duals out the back without removing the spare
@@MrUcquality that sucks....thanks Man
@@Jassman3536 .. got mine done today... now I have a v8 sounding truck! bad ass!!! single sided like my diesel.
my left ear enjoyed your video
There is the truck hoping to get some point this year , trade my 2017 f150 FX4 . Nobody has the 7.3 here in Ottawa yet .
Kevin Davies We have this 250 Tremor and a White Lariat 350 with Sport Pkg but not a Tremor. Impressive drive.
Come on man this truck deserve a review of a real truck enthusiast
excited to see what this engine can make with a couple little mods... even a tune should do a lot right>? i mean they said the AFR was gonna be like 14.7 all thru the rev band..., thats terrible for power but great for fuel economy! lets see someone do a tune on this thing
Well if it's good for fuel economu, how do you explain the horrible mileage it gets in factory fresh & stock form?
@@charleshenson4183 if 15mpg is bad for a 1 ton truck then you must be a diesel guy. the 6.2 sometimes maybe if you were good made 12 mpg... also this engine is smaller and lighter... infact its smaller then a coyote... it fits in a foxbody with only changing motor mounts and slightly changing steering shaft. SVT has already put it in a foxbody... they put a cam that they call "a very mild cam" guess what it made with just a cam? 575 hp N?A... so ya being lighter and smaller and fits in small cars... imagine the mpg it would get in a small light car? so ya dont complain about 15-16 mpg (depending on your re end gear of choice [there are a few options this year])
@@thesavior2398
15 mpg going downhill in neutral & 6mpg towing.
@@charleshenson4183 maybe towing 30k ya but no. FLT tested it for 60 miles and got 15mp and then tested it for 800 miles and got the exact same... but if you want a diesel get a diesel dont complain about gassers if you dont want a gasser. thats stupid. it makes great fuel economy. and no not in neutral go troll on a chevy post or something
@@thesavior2398
Dude I just got rid of my 3rd diesel a laramie sport megacab 4x4 & wanted one of these & am very aware of the fuel mileage it gets & it sure as hell isn't this good or I would have a new laramie tremor.
So you can stick your trolling 💩 where the sun don't shine.
Start watching at 9:45 to skip through all the bullshit and actually hear what the exhaust sounds like.
You needed to Dyno before and after.
Your opinion is good but what does it do for me?
This guy just doesn't stop talking.
Just bought a 6.6 GM yesterday... apologizes to GM guys today for admitting the 7.3 is better. That takes guts
wjs97m are u really saying the Duramax is a worse engine
@@heywatsup671 you completely missed what his whole point was
Where Is the big block he kept talking about? The 7.3 is a small block...
BigMolch I was looking for this comment. 445 cubic inches is a big block physically, but not a big block. Idk, hopefully that’s what they meant, although I doubt it. Miscommunications like this are what give ford a bad name in the sense of warranty work with the “typewriter tick” and the issues with the voodoo that should have been taken care of. Engineers are definitely much smarter than the dealers of ford, but that comes with technological advancements. GM and dodge dealers are repairing 30 year old technology so it’s easy for them.
Hey for the MBRP guys we have seen alot of issues with your aluminized mufflers. They split right where the inlet pipe goes in the muffler, I’d like to see the outer shell be a 1 piece design.
Glasspacks are best in my opinion. They sound somewhat like straight pipe, but not as loud and very little drone.
And btw I couldnt hear the truck at all. All you had to do was start the truck, walk around it, rev it up a couple times and take her down road. Then end it with the camera on the side of the road and you doing a couple fly bys. One or two normal driving and one or two passes going wide ass open
Love those duratrec tires nice truck!
Just straight pipe it 🤘🤘
Zachariah Robertson
You will need to get the drone out, though.
Straight pipes sound like garbage
Karl Hopkins Depends on how it’s designed. Muffler deletes and cat deletes yes. Custom exhaust, usually no
Just get a highflow cat with no muffler. Basically just a glasspack.
Did anyone else notice the stitching on the drivers seat is off?
Expected more from the exhaust. I think there is room for improvement on this.
Justin Petrello Definately. Tons of work left this was less than 48 hours from the truck arriving. Subscribe and stay tuned!
Could we hear the exhuast more outside of the truck or would that be a ridiculous request?
20hp gain at the tire? From a catback only? That’s laughable. Today’s OE exhaust systems flow surprisingly well, to the point where unless you have a really radical setup, you’ll only see noteworthy gains by ditching the stock manifolds and perhaps the cats past a certain point. I would love to see 3rd party testing on a non-inflated dyno prove that one of these engines in completely stock form will pick up 20 at the tire.
Also, it’s still technically a small block by most people’s standards as far as bore spacing and external dimensions, especially considering it shares the same bore spacing as the outgoing 6.2. While official overall external dimensions haven’t been released, I’d venture to say it is extremely comparable in size to a 6.2 engine. Once again making it more or less, a small block.
Hopefully someone is designing a supercharger system for this engine...
Thank you.
The 1960s GM lingo “big block” and “small block” designation applies to the 460.
The 460 bore spacing and the canted valve cylinder head width was quite noticeable.

@@Blackneck1994 Thank you. I think once such systems become available the true potential of the new 7.3 will be realized.
Sounds great
Flowmaster super 10 or borla atak exhaust would sound better!
Big block displacement with a sound my old 305 puts to shame. Where is the rumble, the roar? Probably couldn't hear it over martin...
What did you use to record the audio; a Tamagotchi?
BOT_ROCKET We use Sennheiser Lav Mic with Saramonic IPhone Lightning adaptor. Hope that answers it.
This has to be a classic hahaha a tamagotchi! Hahahaha
Coleen West what
When are you going to make a true cat back exhaust? without the resonator?
By replacing exhaust does it affect the factory warranty
did it require cutting, i have the 7.3 crew cab short box tremor and not sure if it will need cutting to install?
Flow master 40 series
Just straight pipe this beast and be done with it.
Badass
Loud exhaust is lame
@@Stephen-re4oy said nobody ever.
So Im a little pissed this exhaust video doesn’t showcase the sound of the exhaust. You get a little sample about midway but wtf
will y'all make a dual application like I have on my 15 6.7 cat back. Quiet inside the cab slightly louder on the outside and breaths.
I thought tfl had the first exhaust on it ?
TheBostonstapler The time stamp says we were ahead by two days, but hey it’s all good. TFL is awesome
Sorry the people at tfl did a exhaust on a 7.3 liter before you so you are not
They just put a 50 series onto stock piping. That's not doing a catback
Ok. We read dates a little differently. But they do a great job either way.
Should have put duals on it...
Loud 24-7
Why was the resonator left on?
Could you crank up the volume? Can hardly hear you talking, let alone the exhaust.
Can u get duel exhaust ? Or least one in double out into muffler ?
Do you have before and after dyno runs?
Nate Young That will be next stage as development and comparisons are tried. We had one day to be first. MBRP will publish the results as they do for every system.
@@BlackstockFord thanks for the info. And being first before TFL truck is cool lol.

@@BlackstockFord agreed
Looks and sounds MEAN!!!!!
Deeregoat G Great Deep sound. No replacement for displacement.
Sounds healthy
I think the TFL guys beat you at ‘first’
James Wheaton We beat em by two days but they do a great job.
I watched the TFL video first. BUT I’m already liking the mbrp sound over the flowmaster 50 series they used. Just my opinion.
I agree. This mbrp sounded better than the flowmaster they used
They didnt do a cutback, they cut and pasted a flowmaster 50 onto the stock exhaust.
You called it a cat back but it looks like it's a resonator back set up...
Adrian OCNJ You are correct. We removed one resonator but not the big one up front. We had one day to start. MBRP is currently working on the development and will test with and without. Chambered and Straight. The early torque curve of the OHV 7.3 will be interesting on the Dyno.
People who think cat back exhausts add power are a special kinda stupid.
People who think straight pipes sound good are a special kind of stupid
Sounds stock
Are the new 7.3 propane compatible
JD4440 Good question. Somebody will do it for sure but none that we know of thus far. Sorry.
Your face
How much does it cost to put that exhaust on?
Here, here!
It sounds stock.
second thefastlanetruck is first
kingkobra We think the time stamp say different, but TFL is awesome
Muffler looks like a Magnaflow unit.
David Stadulis Definitely not. It’s a Chambered MBRP. For the test it’s an AL piece. MBRP never sells an exhaust that hasn’t been on the Dyno for specific application first.
and your saying magnaflow doesn't...lol..
Magnaflow (and others) use a Straight through design with Acoustic absorbing material. MBRP(and others)use a Chambered Design. The sound result is different.
The power increase is similar, but a Chambered design leaves more design options to minimize negative noises and tune for specific applications. Straight Thru designs will more likely produces pops and crackles and harder to control drone at cruising speed.
MBRP publishes Dyno results for each application and allows the Muffler Chambers to be tuned for various pipe diameters.
@@BlackstockFord I prefer the straight through design myself.. better HP gains instead of chambered..maganaflow 19430 I'm looking at for my new truck but thanks anyways..
u ever here of north ...lol..it is winter time ..
Why dont gassers need 4000 dollar exhaust systems that require ammonia to be poured into them? Why are diesels the only trucks that have to follow these bullshit EPA rules. Why do we have to jump through hoops and void our warranties to make our property the way we want it with a exhaust system, or lack of.... I dont think it's fair. If my truck needs all kinds of emission shit on it so should everyone elses.
This guy really needs to stop talking so much
You talk too much, goose the damn trucks he can actually hear what it sounds!
