You can button mash, it's a strategy that can get you through all the game. But if you want to 'git good' you can change most your flips to shorter flips for upping your multipliers between grinds and manuals and don't end on a ramp pressing loads of random buttons, you end doing a grab move like 'madonna' and if it's your first time doing it on the current run it will add thousands to your base score with the multiplier adding hundreds of thousands on top of that if you've strung a decent combo together using the 'gaps' in the game to add to the multiplayer. I only played THPS 2 on my Gameboy back in the day. I did however get a PS2 with THPS 3 for my birthday. Took me years aswell until a buddy in 5-7th grad told me about a secret level and hidden characters like Darth Maul that could be unlocked. Great days back then!
