There was a comment on this video yesterday, where the subscriber asked why John did not use the word 'feeling' instead of 'synaesthesia'. Dear Mark The most likely reason John Grinder uses the term synaesthesia in this video is because he is explaining the experience of two modalities being expressed simultaneously, known as synaesthesia in NLP. Feeling denotes the modality of kinaesthetic which of course is present, but in John’s example there is an accompanying modality attached to the feeling. To delete linguistically the accompaniment and refer to the experiences only as a feeling would be an incorrect description and defeat the purpose of the this part of the lecture which was to explain synaesthesia (as the term is applied in NLP) to the class.
