  • I visited Ignite Glass Studio in Chicago to create a new series of work with my friend, talented artist Ben Tullman and the super fun Ignite team. The series includes animals that can camouflage to match their surroundings, including a chameleon, an octopus and frogs. This new series will be premiered at SOFA Chicago 2018.
This video shows the making of a chameleon and adding it to one of Ben's beautiful vessels. I love working with Ben and his team because they create beautiful color patterns by using glass murrine (those are the small disks of glass that you see in the beginning). I don't usually work with that color technique in my own sculptures, so it's always a treat to blow glass with them. Also, Chicago is full of good food and good friends!
