- How about this for a video concept ?
Some talk and a looper jam at the end.
Good, here it is then.
I say good, but it doesn't contain any actual vitamins, just a Gin and Tonic and this :
A channel recommendation, a tale of a runaway brain, the beige revolution, a lady playing the guitar, and a sweet tune.
Here's the link to Audiomo Music

Yes I follow Audiomo. I love his reviews.
Oh cool. Jim is a great guy, I really enjoyed doing a podcast episode with him recently. Hopefully we'll do that again soon. Hope you have a great weekend, Rob.
Hey Robbo thanks for the mention, wasn't expecting that when I clicked this today
The thing that drives me nuts about Mayer is how much the guy influences gear prices on the market. He made a pedal I've really wanted for years, the Marshall Bluesbreaker basically quadruple in price and it isn't the first time he's done it. As a player I think he's an excellent, but he's not someone that really inspires me ya know what I mean? The other thing with Mayer is unfortunately he's one of the only household names people know of anymore with modern music, which is no fault of his in all honesty just how things are in the current music world I guess.
I deal with the anxiety stuff too, some days you forget it even exists other days it can take over your entire being basically. The drink helps temporarily but the next day you need one sooner to fight back against it, it never ends! You got it man!
Oh mate, I saw your piece on the Bluesbreaker. Gotta love that sort of celebrity endorsement that ruins the market !
Your welcome on the shout out, it's great to see your numbers growing on the channel, much deserved.
I know what you mean about the drink. I used to be terrible at controlling it, to the point where I couldn't. I'm glad I don't feel that way anymore, but I do keep a close eye on it now all the time. It rains all the time here, we need a beer sometimes !
Cheers.
Thank you for your openness mate, I honestly think we spend a lifetime controlling our moods, or at least I do and I think the secret is not to beat yourself up about the dips and troughs. They are natural. Don’t get John Mayer either. Maybe he’s this moment’s acoustisonic! Discovered Jim about a month ago and love him. And brother, wobbly and beige is simply the blues.
Love your work, stay strong and see you next time.
Cheers matey, nice one. That was an odd brain-glitch, felt perfectly okay the next day, so no idea what was going on, hahaha. Cheers.
Really dug the looper jam in this one Rob! Great vibes.
Many thanks, hope you're well, cheers.
Being bipolar myself l understand completely...good to see you have support mate.
Cheers NicK, I think my brain was doing it's software update that day !
I don’t have an opinion on John Mayer other than he’s managed to make guitar playing so dull I’ve taken up playing the banjo for a while 😁
That was a laugh chatting last night, stay well mate.
You need something blue! Most of my electric guitars except for the Starcaster are 💙 blue.
I do like a metallic blue on a guitar, it's probably the colour I'd go for if I didn't keep accidentally buying beige guitars :) I love my Starcaster, that's cool you have one as well, that guitar always makes me smile.
Hi Rob totally agree with you about Mayer. The thing is folks around our age heard all that the first time around with ReoSpeedForeignerTotoWagon and other bands of that ilk. As you say, the lad can certainly play and good luck to him but to me it’s the ultimate meh sound. Enjoyed your video as always, were you channelling your inner Mike Oldfield at the end ATB
Cheers, hope you're keeping well.
I am a huge Oldfield fan, he's definitely a big influence, so it's entirely possible he cropped up somewhere along the way :)
Morning, Rob. It's ten past seven in the morning, and I still don't give a shit about getting older. (I'm 55).
Comes from going through high school being sneered at for loving Pink Floyd, Genesis, Zeppelin, etc. Makes you bloody minded !!
Don't like Mayer, either. He's a bit of a prick.
G'day matey, school was the same for me, I'm just a year older, just a handful of us 'hairy people', surrounded by New Romantics, Mods and Skins, it made weekend drinking interesting !
I have never really understood fandom, reminds me of those little aliens in the locker (Men in Black). Growing up I was always drawn to old-time music and was utterly ridiculed for it by the various tribes of the time. Yes, music was even more tribal back then than it is now, I thank streaming et al for unlocking a universe of sound for modern consumers. My grown up kids have the world at their ears. It never occurred to me that my taste was any better, and I have no time for opinion propped up by arrogance, particularly when the holder of that opinion has the necessary credentials. They should know better. Hah, after all that spiel I can say that I like a couple of Mayer’s songs, but that’s about it, I feel no compulsion to wax lyrical or to like everything he puts his name to. I find it impossible to like any single artist's entire catalogue… Perhaps that is the key to “fandom” that I lack. I would love to hear some of your recommendations. Keep up the good work Robbo, always a pleasure.
Jamie, 59 and a half….
PS. Listened to your loop four times… Loved it : )
I got into Yes at abut age 12 or so, while the rest of the school were becoming skinheads or mods, I know the feeling :) Having said that, I was a huge Rick Wakeman fanboy for years, unfortunately Minimoogs and Hammonds were out of my price range, so I played my acoustic guitar instead. Still can't afford a bloody Minimoog... I'm glad you enjoyed the looper jam, I was getting Fairport/Cropredy vibes while playing it, that was nice ! Cheers. Robbo, 56 and 4 pints.
