I feel this has a lot to do with rating inflation for DPS players in solo shuffle. A lot of bad DPS players are able to climb further than equivalent skilled healers, meaning good healers are healing bad DPS players at high rating. Deflate the DPS ladder and make the bad dps players play with the bad healers.

There are too many issues for blizzard to actually solve with balance/tuning in just a patch cycle. The problems with healing in shuffle as I see it are the following: 1. More difficult to communicate defensives because of random teammates, overlapping is a huge mistake that can cost games. Makes it feel like every decision is the wrong decision. 2. Tilt factor as the games progress, this affects healers more bc they have to worry about 4 dps tilting and throwing. 3. Win trading at higher mmr affects healers more because they are forced to deal with the wintrade. 4. No agency at all over the outcome of the game, except maybe as disc priest, hence why they are played 3-4x more than any other healer atm. 5. Low rating gain in general because of forced 3-3 or 0-6 if you are fighting a healer that is better into damp than you. (disc/pres into MW) 6. Generally healing is just unfun/stressful because of how quickly people can die. One mistake feels like you just instalose the game. There is absolutely nothing blizzard can do right now to fix the healer problem other than EXTREMELY OBTUSE rewards for anyone who queues healers. Couple random reward ideas off the top of my head that make sense: 1. Priority DPS queue tokens, you queue a game as a healer, you get a token that allows you to have priority requeue. This would probably have to be bracket specific so you can't just have a healer sitting at 1000cr and spam queue your main at 2800. Potentially lets say 6 total wins across X lobbies gets you 1 priority requeue token for Rival. If you get 2 rival tokens you can exchange them for a duelist token, etc. You can get tokens to priority queue on ur dps at a higher mmr bracket you just gotta put in the work. reward players for playing healers by letting them get queues on their dps alts. 2. Some extreme gold rewards, I'm talking like 5k gold a lobby or something. At the very least this would allow you to get a months sub from rewards in ur solo shuffle lobbies. Healers are already miserable just give them their sub for free so they dont quit. 3. Extra crafted item tokens that are BoA that you can send to ur alts or something. You wanna craft boots on ur alt huntardo? Queue a few rounds as a healer in shuffle and you get it. Maybe have a weekly quest to queue 5 or 10 lobbies as healer and you get a shadowflame token thing. This is just off the top of my head but I feel like I already put in more thought to this than Blizzard did. The only reason on this Earth I am not playing WoW more than 1-2 hours a week atm is because I simply feel like it is a waste of my valuable time on planet earth to sit AFK in Valdrakken waiting 40 minutes to have a shitty time in World of Warcraft Arena. I'd rather go fix my landscaping outside or exercise than bitch because a destro warlock or moonkin double my damage while being immortal. Thank you for coming to my TED talk.
What would be the problem to rework the stone age mmr system by implementing sth. like in lol or hs( ranking brackets, that you stay on or push through)... Would make it less punishing when you lose" only" 100 cr instead of 400cr due to bad rng and would fix the que times? Ik, it would play into hands of boosters and win traders, but that´s a general problem, because Blizzard does not care enough... I mean the discord groups, websites etc. are obvious for them to see. How can they not shut them down or find the connected " boosting" accounts, which will always show specific behaviours. This is all just bc of not caring about pvp all too much....
@@blizzart9191 I think they should not let you lose rating once you get above a certain threshold, like hearthstone kinda. If you get over 1800 you can never fall below 1800. This would also encourage people to try whacky builds or do fun stuff without risk of just tanking like crazy. Sure people that buy boosts will always stay at 1800 but who cares.

Oh man, you basically summed up all the hatred for dps players in solo shuffle that my wife had in her sessions lately, it was making her feel she became worse at disc. That video shown her that even top players face that problem.
You do end up playing poorly trying to cover the bad players. The opposite side though is healers that think they need to move in and CC when they should just be healing. I've seen many Rdruids go in to bash-clone when there is no damage and end up getting globaled because they are so out of position for no reason.
lock's port is tricky to use, unless you play a healer u have no idea how to use it correctly, and most locks don't. so if u wanna play lock, just play a healer first, will make you smarter.

Holy Shit! This video makes me feel SO MUCH BETTER! I’ve been playing a disc priest and trying pvp healing (for the first time ever) this season. I admit I’m a noob when it comes to healing. But I’m an experienced 2k+ pvper player I get blamed 90% of the time when we lose. I admit sometimes it probably is my fault. But I can’t tell you how many times I lose because my DPS is out of LoS and I’m stuck in a CC trying to get to them… Stay in LoS or your healers people! If you are not healing me then if I have a class with mobility I'm going to use that mobility to not die and not rely on a healer who is letting me die to come around.
My 2 favorite ones when i heal that is sometimes mindblowing. 1: lets go mage, my 2 dps finally force the mage to double block,, guess what they decide to change target .. GREAT and 2: Enemy healer lifeswap and they automatically thinks thats the new maintarget (pure bait this lifeswap in most cases) xD. Nice Vid MMarkers^^. I qued with this lock when he was still 1900 earlier this week. he was running in like a mongo, not putting down port, and typing in chat "this game is so easy why can't you just heal me?" Came back foe S2 after quitting before S1 even began, played holy priest first time in solo queue shuffle. Not playing it again, had all the same issues and more outlined in this video. No agency over success, DPS drive the arena victory first, healers seal the deal, if 1 DPS player is trash its over. Otherwise I found people find the weakest player of the 6 and just pound that person as much as possible, it's a horrible game experience

Starting 1400 MMR, needing to basically play 10 shuffles to hit 1400 because every game is like this. I feel that rage. I literally have no choice, but to just suck it up, and queue again. I will quote this till the day I die, but a warrior who ran into LOS of a balance druid and lock both bursting without any defensives, out of LOS of me, when I told him to not eat their entire load and hide, he said "but then how will I be able to chase". This coming from him after he melted in a 3 second stun on me.
I actually used to main disc all the way till DF. When SS released I found myself miserable from the experience to the point I re-rolled mage. Bad games and lack of synergy aside, as it should be expected from an unorganised game mode, which somewhat less prevalent in higher SS ratings. The major problem with imho is the mentality of the game mode. SS feels less like an arena and more like a BG side road battle fiesta. If I could change 1 thing to make healers life easier in SS it would be the damp starting point and scaling time as combined with the massive damage in the current expansion people simply ignore defensive cooldowns. I found that it's more stressful healing someone during my defensive CDs than actually outside them because PS doesn't do enough in SS vs the high amount of damage combined with 40% damp. Thanks for reading this far, please be nice to people as we are all learning, and I can personally promise you that you are stuck at 1600 not because "your teammates", but your lack of mentality to self improve along with self awarness to realise you could of played better yourself and adapt to your teammates. Being toxic will only breed toxicity, being a leader and a role model will inspire others to improve too. You all have fun! that's why we are here for.
Everyone does rocket science here in the comments. The only reason why healing sucks in solo shuffle is, that its the hardest role in general and a 1500 healer is like a 1800 dps but since you play with 1500 dps you just cry as healer. It's the discrepancy in skill level and no I'm not a healer.
I stopped healing solo que the last few weeks of S1 because it just wasn’t fun to go from 1800->2.1k--:1850->2k-->1750. I know it isn’t me… most of the time and it just stopped being fun. I’ll do 3s but even then, it was so deflated that it did not feel rewarding at all (got to around 1950)

I had someone today on the same map, and the dude jumped off literally identical to your situation. Safe to say he died because i was trapped and couldnt trinket until i got hexed (since the rsham was casting hex while i was in trap). He proceeded to message me: "horrible healer" and me and my irl friend i was also playing with got a great laugh haha
This is why in 3v3, as a healer, double caster always feels the most fun and relaxed to play with. You can appropriately play around a triangular formation and rotate the front point of the triangle that's facing the enemy team with defensive CD's while constantly pushing out damage. Your mage no longer has Ice Block? They go to the back and the warlock moves up.. as soon as the warlock runs out of defensives, the mage swaps them out. It's super easy and relaxed. But as soon as you introduce a melee player into this it becomes a complete shit show. The melee player can't rotate back because they don't want to stop doing damage so they feel the need to constantly be in the front. It's on the melee to LOS and position properly, it doesn't matter how many heals I have, if they don't LOS into their healer, away from incoming damage, it's GG go next. Hybrid comps, so ranged + melee, are just SO difficult to play with out communication. Coming from a duelist Warrior/HPal/RDruid, as someone who climbed as a hybrid comp a few times as warrior with mage or ele, timing is crucial for everything and the warrior NEEDS to know when and where to position. If they don't the melee player will feel like a headless chicken 100% of the time. That's why I refuse to play any variation of hybrid if Discord is not being used. Double melee? Sure we can probably zug zug to victory. Double Caster? Well, as long as they understand triangular positioning/rotation we don't "need" communication as much. Hybrid comps? Forget about it, everyone needs a Seal Team 6 understanding if they want to be successful with out voice.
Honestly feel like there is little to no respect for healers in this game and more people really need to see what is happening from a healer's perspective, even by just watching a healer stream. Utter chaos trying to heal when people los you. Lol. It's super cool you were like "ok let's watch the vod and if I'm in the wrong then I own up to it" though what we ended up seeing was a hide n seek horror film. Lol good stuff
MMarkers, don't let a bad player get you worked up. Rather than taking accountability some people are man-babies. I find there are more douchey players in Horde vs. Alliance.
I don't feel solo should reward conquest, switch it to honor and allow all the noobs to practice no problems, but if you want to earn rating and gear find a team and go arena. No healer wants to be part of these types of games.
As a low rated healer, solo q can be the most toxic shit ever. It’s super difficult and frustrating analyze and fix my own mistakes, while simultaneously getting blamed for DPS dying out of position or not rotating defensives. So I guess it’s cathartic for me to see people who actually know the game, deal with the same shit.
my easy answer for not doing any solo on whatever spec is that people sucks in it and play too bad at low cr so we can't win, and OFCCCCC they always blame the heal
I was playing as a holy pala with a boomie from LFG, He trinket a ROOT, also he been in melee range all the time, I told him "I didn't invite a boomie for being in melee, otherwise id invite a warrior", the next morning I woke up with 30 days ban.
I swear this happens 2-4 times a game until you get to at least 1800cr then It gets a little better. Not even a retail thing. Even in Wrath arena you constantly see people even at supposedly higher mmrs LoS their healers and die. That being said, no one forces you to play sshuffle, just gotta find teamates you can rely on for 3s
Main lock I know the pain to heal shuffle sucks as hell and love you understanding of lock gameplay port and gate bread and butter even with push repositioning re gate and re port still happens to get panic brain and run away before being top but it improves when anyone start understanding cd and healer spots better
Solo DPS players be like : I will just stay in the middle or behind the pillar and you should be able to heal me anytime you dumb lame healer " I am in much lower rank atm, but lately I rarely win more than 3 games out of 6 due to this fact. I am not super experienced but these guys are driving me crazy.
I've stopped healing because DPS just tell me to uninstall the game. These idiots don't realise that less healers = longer queue times. And healing is so sweaty that I can't even have some fun with a little damage in between heals. Nah.

I play holy paladin probably one of the worst healing specs, and this happens to me all the time. No matter what I do. I always have to compromise my position to try and get in LoS of dps that enjoy getting trained. Consequently we lose many matches and at the end of the game whispers of “ ur bad, learn your role, learn to play, hard stuck 1400” Follow. I can’t use my defensive nor can I heal when I get LoS. Perhaps the game does do well. After high dampening I just won’t have the throughput to maintain anyone up at 70% dampening. It’s a tough life as a healer I tell you.
this is why i dont play solo shuffle lol id much rather play with 2 randoms that will be on my team for consecutive games where we can discuss what went wrong and why between games. people tend to be less toxic too
It can be frustrating when healing is such a thankless role and stressful to top it off. You are brought into the worst situations and forced into cc situations and swallow all of it because you accept that it is going to happen yet will still get flamed.

My 2 favorite ones when i heal that is sometimes mindblowing. 1: lets go mage, my 2 dps finally force the mage to double block,, guess what they decide to change target .. GREAT and 2: Enemy healer lifeswap and they automatically thinks thats the new maintarget (pure bait this lifeswap in most cases) xD. Nice Vid MMarkers^^. I am healing as holy paladin atm, I do hope the tier will help me out in future, struggling, ppl breaking my repetance on top of that (when i play it), oh well .. but still addicted to healing shuffle regardless!

thank god for this video. I qued with this lock when he was still 1900 earlier this week. he was running in like a mongo, not putting down port, and typing in chat "this game is so easy why can't you just heal me?" Good to see he's down at 1800 now, wouldnt be long till he drops to 1600 where he belongs.
This is why I never blame the healer unless it's something outlandish like throwing games.

Came back foe S2 after quitting before S1 even began, played holy priest first time in solo queue shuffle. Not playing it again, had all the same issues and more outlined in this video. No agency over success, DPS drive the arena victory first, healers seal the deal, if 1 DPS player is trash its over. Otherwise I found people find the weakest player of the 6 and just pound that person as much as possible, it's a horrible game experience
It just feels like you can hell your heart out and someone can be playing one handed eating chips and then laugh and say heals are bad....

I played healer since Legion but I give up this season, blizz never learn its awfull to heal, too much cc and dmg. I'm having fun playing dps now.

Starting 1400 MMR, needing to basically play 10 shuffles to hit 1400 because every game is like this.
I feel that rage. I literally have no choice, but to just suck it up, and queue again.
I will quote this till the day I die, but a warrior who ran into LOS of a balance druid and lock both bursting without any defensives, out of LOS of me, when I told him to not eat their entire load and hide, he said "but then how will I be able to chase". This coming from him after he melted in a 3 second stun on me.
I actually used to main disc all the way till DF. When SS released I found myself miserable from the experience to the point I re-rolled mage.
Bad games and lack of synergy aside, as it should be expected from an unorganised game mode, which somewhat less prevalent in higher SS ratings. The major problem with imho is the mentality of the game mode.
SS feels less like an arena and more like a BG side road battle fiesta.
If I could change 1 thing to make healers life easier in SS it would be the damp starting point and scaling time as combined with the massive damage in the current expansion people simply ignore defensive cooldowns.
I found that it's more stressful healing someone during my defensive CDs than actually outside them because PS doesn't do enough in SS vs the high amount of damage combined with 40% damp.
Thanks for reading this far, please be nice to people as we are all learning, and I can personally promise you that you are stuck at 1600 not because "your teammates", but your lack of mentality to self improve along with self awarness to realise you could of played better yourself and adapt to your teammates. Being toxic will only breed toxicity, being a leader and a role model will inspire others to improve too.

Everyone does rocket science here in the comments. The only reason why healing sucks in solo shuffle is, that its the hardest role in general and a 1500 healer is like a 1800 dps but since you play with 1500 dps you just cry as healer. It's the discrepancy in skill level and no I'm not a healer.
I stopped healing solo que the last few weeks of S1 because it just wasn’t fun to go from 1800->2.1k--:1850->2k-->1750. I know it isn’t me… most of the time and it just stopped being fun. I’ll do 3s but even then, it was so deflated that it did not feel rewarding at all (got to around 1950)

I had someone today on the same map, and the dude jumped off literally identical to your situation. Safe to say he died because i was trapped and couldnt trinket until i got hexed (since the rsham was casting hex while i was in trap). He proceeded to message me: "horrible healer" and me and my irl friend i was also playing with got a great laugh haha

This is why in 3v3, as a healer, double caster always feels the most fun and relaxed to play with. You can appropriately play around a triangular formation and rotate the front point of the triangle that's facing the enemy team with defensive CD's while constantly pushing out damage. Your mage no longer has Ice Block? They go to the back and the warlock moves up.. as soon as the warlock runs out of defensives, the mage swaps them out. It's super easy and relaxed.
But as soon as you introduce a melee player into this it becomes a complete shit show. The melee player can't rotate back because they don't want to stop doing damage so they feel the need to constantly be in the front. It's on the melee to LOS and position properly, it doesn't matter how many heals I have, if they don't LOS into their healer, away from incoming damage, it's GG go next.
Hybrid comps, so ranged + melee, are just SO difficult to play with out communication. Coming from a duelist Warrior/HPal/RDruid, as someone who climbed as a hybrid comp a few times as warrior with mage or ele, timing is crucial for everything and the warrior NEEDS to know when and where to position. If they don't the melee player will feel like a headless chicken 100% of the time. That's why I refuse to play any variation of hybrid if Discord is not being used. Double melee? Sure we can probably zug zug to victory. Double Caster? Well, as long as they understand triangular positioning/rotation we don't "need" communication as much. Hybrid comps? Forget about it, everyone needs a Seal Team 6 understanding if they want to be successful with out voice.
Honestly feel like there is little to no respect for healers in this game and more people really need to see what is happening from a healer's perspective, even by just watching a healer stream. Utter chaos trying to heal when people los you. Lol. It's super cool you were like "ok let's watch the vod and if I'm in the wrong then I own up to it" though what we ended up seeing was a hide n seek horror film. Lol good stuff

I don't feel solo should reward conquest, switch it to honor and allow all the noobs to practice no problems, but if you want to earn rating and gear find a team and go arena. No healer wants to be part of these types of games.
As a low rated healer, solo q can be the most toxic shit ever. It’s super difficult and frustrating analyze and fix my own mistakes, while simultaneously getting blamed for DPS dying out of position or not rotating defensives. So I guess it’s cathartic for me to see people who actually know the game, deal with the same shit.

my easy answer for not doing any solo on whatever spec is that people sucks in it and play too bad at low cr so we can't win, and OFCCCCC they always blame the heal
I was playing as a holy pala with a boomie from LFG, He trinket a ROOT, also he been in melee range all the time, I told him "I didn't invite a boomie for being in melee, otherwise id invite a warrior", the next morning I woke up with 30 days ban.

Even in Wrath arena you constantly see people even at supposedly higher mmrs LoS their healers and die. That being said, no one forces you to play sshuffle, just gotta find teamates you can rely on for 3s

Main lock I know the pain to heal shuffle sucks as hell and love you understanding of lock gameplay port and gate bread and butter even with push repositioning re gate and re port still happens to get panic brain and run away before being top but it improves when anyone start understanding cd and healer spots better

I've stopped healing because DPS just tell me to uninstall the game. These idiots don't realise that less healers = longer queue times. And healing is so sweaty that I can't even have some fun with a little damage in between heals. Nah.

I play holy paladin probably one of the worst healing specs, and this happens to me all the time. No matter what I do. I always have to compromise my position to try and get in LoS of dps that enjoy getting trained. Consequently we lose many matches and at the end of the game whispers of “ ur bad, learn your role, learn to play, hard stuck 1400” Follow. I can’t use my defensive nor can I heal when I get LoS. Perhaps the game does do well. After high dampening I just won’t have the throughput to maintain anyone up at 70% dampening. It’s a tough life as a healer I tell you.

It can be frustrating when healing is such a thankless role and stressful to top it off. You are brought into the worst situations and forced into cc situations and swallow all of it because you accept that it is going to happen yet will still get flamed.
