Or better yet, put some tactile difference on them. In Goblin Slayer for example, the titular character ties string with a different number of knots on each bottle depending on what type of potion is in it. Say, one for a health potion, 2 for a potion of heroism, etc.
I always found that a little weird : you just have to put you potions in different places. A health potion needs to be quickly taken, so you don't put it in a bag. What are in the bag are the support potion you take BEFORE a fight.

The most recent incarnation of Drizzt with class levels (in 3e) had 10 levels of fighter, 5 levels of ranger. And ranger itself has been going downhill since 2e.

A few years ago I created 12 different lvl 1 characters in case I found a group, I unfortunately haven't yet:( Anyway, 1 of my characters is: A Chaotic Neutral Sage background Female High Elf Ranger planning Drakewarden Sub-Class, at lvl 1 currently she knows 8 different languages!
Good to see Evandra is practicing good Bardkeeping and castrating hers. And of course the misuse of a Restoration potion isn't on her, yet I still hope she'll find Antrius before he can breed.
Our campaign has Evandra as NPC that is constant a bit ahead of the party claiming bounties and applying for rewards. They constantly cast sleep on her, so most of the time she is asleep :)

I was waiting for fun and gruesome special effects watching the ranger dissolve after mistakenly drinking the acid :D But vomiting green poison was still nicely done.....
Reminds me of the spike trap mushrooms in the Dungeon Born book. Mushrooms across the cave floor with hidden spikes inside them to step on. The spikes have healing potions on them, healing the barbs into your flesh so you're immobilized for the monsters to attack.

I disagree, some of their spells are actually rather good. They're a self-buffing half-caster, but people always seem to forget the spells when comparing them to fighters.
