Yeah buddy, same here. I think the creators weren't planning on her gaining so much popularity. They probably thought it would be Mileena but everyone including me took to Kitana. I think that's why they weekend her abilities and storyline in latter games. Only since Mk9 did she start looking again like the contender she was in mk2
How do you get the CPU trapped in the fan lift? When I input it they just counter with projectile most of the time or sweep if they're too close. Rarely I can trap them in it.

Sorry but its just you ; ) Those version are similar arcade ports, with exactly the same AI, the only difference is the crappier graphic & sound glitches in the MKAK version. MK2 is relatively easy I think once you figure out the patterns of the AI.
Human players don't use the throwing for some reason. These females throw so much that when you don't use the throw and play with one of them it looks silly.
MK2 ultimate Kombo: flying kick- flying kick- flying kick= easy win not enjoyable at all, the real combos in 3 and 9 were way better and it was way more fun then just spamming flying kick and some times some special attacks
I've always loved Kitana's throw. IDK why they didn't keep it.

Okay this will sound dumb but how on earth did you pull off throwing the fan in midair?!
you simply do the fan throw move while you are in air - its the same combination - you have to be quick though
I cannot for the life of me do a jump kick and midair fan combo. I love this game, but I have a hard time with combos.
At start use the fan lift, hit them with teleport kick, while in air throw a fan at them, jump towards them and before they get up uppercut them 😁.
