I know this would be an excellent asset and positive event if it could be a public path - but I find it really strange that one of the most buried, out of reach tunnels in the country is being chosen for restoration while there are hundreds of fully extant much easier and cheaper disused tunnels that could be tidied up and re-opened but they lay idle.
Wake up Sunny Jim. There are lots of former UK railway tunnels re purposed for cycling and walking. and each one is a resounding success. The former mining valleys of South Wales are a potential tourist destination and property prices will soar especially since a lot of the valleys are connected to the capital by rail.
