The tank part was a hit to Kungen's stream where he called everyone scrubs for getting damage from the discs while he also got damage but has always HoT's and physical reduction on him. Loved it! Should clear the air a a bit.
"This is a guild-killer boss" It actually killed my guild back then. Everyone was so frustrated with each others performance in the last phase of HC people just started getting burned out by the game. It is good to have encounters like these but yeah, it is bad desing to make it the first of an instance
FFS they should of never nerfed this. I haven't played for ages . This was tempting to come back and then i read description. This reminded me of a hard old school boss. That end phase is pretty legit. Looks like a extreme dps race.
i remember having DBM in 2005 i believe it was when i did Nefarian. but even Nef for example - it took time to do Nef, because ALL 40 people in the raid HAD to have that cloak that you can only make from Onyxia scales, or else you died when the fire came. things actually took time back then, and now there are a plethora of wel-fare epics. no one now would run 15 man UBRS all day long to finsh your set so you can raid, that shit took at least 2 hours with a semi-decent PUG
I'd say it's something to be proud of in a way. It requires utmost concentration, dedication, understanding of intricate mechanics and perfect communication between 2 dozen people simultaneously non stop for days on end. I don't know about you, but I haven't encountered many people of whom such skills are required in their jobs. Anyone who's good at their average office job can probably see that you can be quite laid back in most cases. There's no joking around in high end raiding. :p
and a good example of old-school mechanics is 40 man Thaddius. if ONE person in the raid fucked up, 1 in 40 which is 2.5% of the raid, then the WHOLE raid wiped. there is no such thing as that anymore, if a DPS dies now it's no problem at all, unless they die in the first 10 seconds of a fight. and they don't bring half of the raid with them.
When the orbs come, isnt it just to left-nrightclick and use A and D to dodge the few that are coming straight for you? I can't see how this is hard with 60 fps, although I havent tried
This is the kind of raid boss that should be made for every raid. This is the difficulty level I was looking for when i was playing WoW. Although i agree it shouldn't be the first boss.
yeah, those classic bosses where so hardcore, stand around dispelling 24/7 as a healer and tank/spank als dps/tank. the mechanics where so freaking hard, walking out of the raid with a debuff or taunting a boss every like 2 minutes. classic raiding was only hard, because almost every boss was a gearcheck. raiding nowadays have like 20 times harder mechanics.
I think it's great Blizzard have actually made an encounter difficult before the last boss of the raid for once, although it's a bit stupid that it's the first one
that's true, but what i mean is the comparison of player skill , to boss difficulty this is good . I am talking about bosses like viscidius and twin emps. No one knew how to deal with them same as 4 horsemen obviously this guy is harder but i am talking about compared with players skill at the time and technology of addons/mods 4 horsemen compares to what this guy was
This what gw2 lacks of. I wish they would put content like this in. Please do not hate me for that, I do love WoW and I consider it to be one awesome game. :) No offense to anyone.
The reason vanila raids were so hard such as naxx wasn't cause mechanics, it was cause the amount of damage the bosses did, with the shitty damage and healer the players did, as well as 40 man raids which are hard as fuck to get together and control. A lot harder then 10 man or 25man
Oooh, that looks amazing! Finally something that is a bit challenging. How can people complain at that stuff, much more fun than faceroll Dragon Soul..
This is Razorgore all over again. People ran through MC thinking maybe raiding isn't too difficult. When they stepped into BWL they hit a wall - tactics goes from "dont stand in the fire" to omgwtfbbq
It got nerfed as Never ment to be this hard. However, this is propably the best boss fight I have ever seen im world of warcraft and propably im any mmo ever.
So many guilds clear raids because the raiding community and awareness has grown vastly since vanilla. There were no easy-to-get step-by-step guides and tell-me-when-to-press-buttons addons all over the internet in 2004. Things change, you know ;)
there were gear checks. Vael being the biggest one in the game, and i would say ragnaros was one as well (seeing as it took ~6 months to kill him from the beginning of the game). WoW has 0 gear checks since vanilla. WoW was a lot more hardcore of a game for the reasons you listed (gear grind, farm longer for consumables, etc etc). i'm saying back then we earned our gear, and now it's handed out on a silver platter. yes i played then i still have my hunter with my Rhok'Delar.
Not only was every classic raiding boss hard because of gear checks, but people didn't have the extreme body of knowledge of the game as they do today. The scrubbiest of PvErs today would be capable of raiding Naxxramas at 60 without much problem to be honest. But you can equivocate them like that. Mechanics and gear, is not the sole description of the "hardness" of a boss, it is the wiggleroom between clever use of game mechanics, meta-gaming and RNG.
"The idea is to get the boss to 0 HP" - Kripp 9:19
Thanks for that pro tip
"How many people survived that, 3 " and that laugh hahahah iwas laughin with you all those dam orbs that was insane you were on your game tho
The tank part was a hit to Kungen's stream where he called everyone scrubs for getting damage from the discs while he also got damage but has always HoT's and physical reduction on him. Loved it! Should clear the air a a bit.

No, it's not. It only kills noob guilds.
@@marcoswillianl and noob guilds make up for the majority of the raiding groups...... so yes it is bad design
@@CL-jq1xs Nah, it's a git gud problem.
@@marcoswillianl WoW was made for casual in mind so not really...... remember Everquest?
I laughed my ass off when you guys Told Six he was getting owned by the orbs
That was AWESOME! i love extremely tough boss fights. I keep thinking back to C'Thun days :D
So awesome boss, and best video from you Kripp so far. And there have been some epic ones.
Watching the video actually excited me a bit. I got that urge to play WoW again. But then I read the video description. haha
Jay Wilson got in on the development of the boss in the last phase?
"We took your insane mode frogger, and DOUBLED it!
I started laughing like a maniac when the last phase happened.
Sometimes watching Kripps videos make me think damn this guy doesnt sleep enough but this time its like wow, I want what hes on
4:40 The tank, im crying laughing
Kripp looks like he knows Touhou after avoiding those attenuations
Despite how hard it is, the mechanics seem pretty fun and interesting.
Kripp, I love that you still handle 25mans I really divided 25 and 10 man loot again so we can get more 25 progression guilds out =(
When the boss does attenuation and they're dodging all those energy balls, it reminds me of Super R-Type
I always loved bullet hell games, and now I really want to try these heroics
"So the idea is you have to get the boss to 0 HP" -Kripp
Sounds like a plan, now PULL AND LETS DO THIS LOOOL
More real life stories of the Krippers soon please :D!
FFS they should of never nerfed this. I haven't played for ages . This was tempting to come back and then i read description. This reminded me of a hard old school boss. That end phase is pretty legit. Looks like a extreme dps race.
Kripp should get his own meme.
Some Realm of the Mad God projectile dodging lol
MoP raiding is one of the best raiding they have done in a good while. Hard and nice.
i remember having DBM in 2005 i believe it was when i did Nefarian. but even Nef for example - it took time to do Nef, because ALL 40 people in the raid HAD to have that cloak that you can only make from Onyxia scales, or else you died when the fire came. things actually took time back then, and now there are a plethora of wel-fare epics. no one now would run 15 man UBRS all day long to finsh your set so you can raid, that shit took at least 2 hours with a semi-decent PUG

Those attenuations remind me of a shoot 'em up, like holy crap dude.
this is how a heroic fight should look like.
Oh man, I don't even play WoW any more, but this encounter looks fun
I LOVE Kripp. So funny at the end.
Kripp I just started leveling a hunter. What addons do you use that have timers on your cool downs?
Just look at how happy Kripp is to have a challenge =D
dam that encounter is insane...
i dont play wow but i love to watch those wow vids :D very entertaining
Never stop playing wow Krip
I think thats pretty awesome that nobody has killed him yet. Hopefully this tier takes a month or two to clear.
9:56, Krip finds the answer for ending world hunger.
Love the Kungen impersonation :D
I fucking love your tank comment, our raidleader is a tank and its a nightmare lol.
Finally some boss fights that are hard as fuck!
now these are interesting boss mechanics
enchantress would be proud

What an awesome fucking boss! Thanks for sharing Kripp!
Double attenuation is insane
thats a rediculous boss encounter... holy shit.
yeah, those classic bosses where so hardcore, stand around dispelling 24/7 as a healer

As a bullet hell player, that boss looked so dope.
I think it's great Blizzard have actually made an encounter difficult before the last boss of the raid for once, although it's a bit stupid that it's the first one
Look how happy kripp is. :)
From the thumbnail I thought this was a Diablo video. Blizz needs to broaden their artistic horizons.
that's true, but what i mean is the comparison of player skill , to boss difficulty this is good . I am talking about bosses like viscidius and twin emps. I was laughing so hard when there was double attenuation...and I've never played a second of WoW in my life hahaha.
this boss looks awesome miss raiding...
This last phase looks like something out of Touhou Project.
This what gw2 lacks of. I wish they would put content like this in.

seems like once the green orbs come you can pick a spot in between 2 of them and chill + dps
I don´t play wow too, I just saw some videos, but, really, this boss is amazing!!!
Awesome encounter awesome video.
Damn this boss looks very challenging! Hope you down him soon
A hard boss for once you did gj there kripp
This boss reminds me of those japanese shooter touhou games. Lmfao, this is insane.
1 video per day thanks kripp:)
I am curious, what is the average latency people on US realms have? In EU most players have bellow 100ms (at least in my raiding guild).
Noice
Thank you very much. Have a good day.
loved this, laughing all the way through haha, 8:30 LOLhahga
The fight looks awesome. I'm not going to be surprised if Blizz nerf it since they like the casual players.
Wonder if Kripp put out a new video, goes to channel, 25seconds ago :O
That is goddamn funny.
reminds me of the harvester in Naxx40, the assimilation spell is kind of similar. Ofc it was way easier in naxx at WotLK tho.
ya, as the descrip said, he was mega nerfed and killed in the making of the video...
This is Razorgore all over again. People ran through MC thinking maybe raiding isn't too difficult. When they stepped into BWL they hit a wall - tactics goes from "dont stand in the fire" to omgwtfbbq
Its the wow boss fight version of Ikaruga!
sounds like this boss requires touhou experience to me
Maybe I was bugged, however, as a hunter I wasn't silenced from the middle gas.
It got nerfed as Never ment to be this hard. However, this is propably the best boss fight I have ever seen im world of warcraft and propably im any mmo ever.
weird to see you in a non sleepy mode
Best Video since long time! :D
oh wow, this boss looks AWESOME! :D
not sure if nerf is needed or not, but for me, I'd just man up and do it proper.
not sure if kripp actually hates this or loves it because hes into that hardcore impossible shit
Great challenge
Fights and mechanics like this are precisely why I no longer enjoy raiding in World of Warcraft. Pacman was cool like 25 years ago.
Time to practice your Touhou Krip
looks so fun, looks relatively similar to ulduar mimi hm
too bad i am not raiding and playing:(
these moments are fun

Things change, you know ;)
Holy sit that looks fun
Pretty sure twins were killed before Slime.
i have done MC/BWL/Naxx/AQ40 except c'thun. all the smallers too (ZG, AQ20, etc)
sounds like four kings from dark souls and touhou put together :3

Kael'thas the Sunstrider. Nuff said.
now thats a challenge! looks like funn tho
This Boss is the reason i love raiding in wow.. and might get me back after 2 years not playing wow.. buut i doubt it.
Blizzard realized that they made all previous encounters easy. So they made one that required a brain.
It looks like all over japanese Side Scroller games to me with this attenuation damage bubbels
