    Very well done, that does not look easy! As mentioned, it’s great to see you back on the vlogs, hope you can find a happy balance between enjoying your work but staying healthy too!

      Hey Ally, Always good to see your name! lets see what the future holds.

      @@AMDetails Hi Alan. There’s a few really! The plotter and the table, but also the problems you can have just getting the piece from the table onto the car, and the careful control of the airborne dust. A lot of care goes into that and i that’s often left out of other videos making it look ridiculously easy - which it isn’t! Hope abdy is fine, and say hi to Eoin 👍

    Great job Alan!.. very tricky and love the fact that you are trying to tuck the xpel edges. Looks so much professional tucking, but major time consuming, but makes an amazing look on stealth..

    14:05 how about one of those air-purifiers, instead of spraying water to the air? some of them come with HEPA filter.

    • @AMDetails
      @AMDetails  2 года назад +1

      Definitely an option, and i probably over-prep the area. But I want to make sure as the unit is not new and not purpose-built for Paint protection film, so I want to take as many stapes as I can in the early stages. As we invest in modifications or tools. An Air purifier may be one.

      @@AMDetails hi Alan , i found the whole process really good , makes you realise how much work is involved. I fancy getting the front end of my van done

    • @AMDetails

      I probably do too much prep. But I'm still finding the balance in the shed.
      Really enjoying the process though! 😁👍🔔

  • @OraEtLabora0

    11:01 can you not prep film on windscreen? it would be much shorter distance to travel from there onto bonnet.

    • @AMDetails
      @AMDetails  2 года назад +1

      Indeed, I know of a lot of detailers who also use the side windows for B pillar prep.
      The issue is I want the surface as verticle as possible, so I can do a final flush to make sure everything is a s clean as possible. Using the screen for large pieces is not something I would do naturally. But may try in future.

    20:23 will Xpel not hide blemishes in clear-coat?

    • @AMDetails
      @AMDetails  2 года назад +1

      It can indeed hide blemishes. But this is not a brand-new vehicle. so I like to do a light machine to make sure the surface in as clean and prepped as possible.

    What is the liquid used when applying the film?

    • @AMDetails
      @AMDetails  2 года назад +1

      A slip solution that is different depending on the user and the environment. Right now I'm about 3ml slip for every 1L DI water.

    please, less pointing to and punching of camera. most utubers stopped doing it some time ago...
    it's very intrusive - one would not behave like that in real life towards a client next to them so why doing it on video which is 1-to-1/1-to-many communication channel.
    thanks

      @ora Labora, Loving the engagement on the video. But it's not an act. I'm a very animated and "professionally silly" person. If you ever catch me live at a show, you will see.
      It's who I am, and I've tried to "tame it" for RUclips and to be more universal. But then I get the opposite and people to say whats wrong Alan.
      Hopefully, you enjoy the content and stick around as I love the questions you have to ask.
