Here is a tip… boiling liquid can over cook cucumbers, but not carrots. My advice is follow her advice, but pour the brine/vinegar mix when it’s just warm to the touch. So do the boil but let it cool. VERY IMPORTANT. Much snappier cuckes, if you feel they didn’t absorb the flavor? Let them sit for more days. Hope this helps.
Good to know, thanks!
Why is there no water in this recipe? I used a quart size jar and the amt of vinegar didn't fill up the jar so I added some water and they turned out great! I did wait until it was warm not hot off the stove like you suggested too. Thx
Thank you for this tip!!

I made these last night and they turned out amazing! I followed one commenter’s tip and let the brine cool a little after boiling, and my pickles are super crunchy and flavorful!
Ever since I discovered refrigerator pickles I can't go back to regular, store bought pickles because they don't have the fresh crunch of fridge pickles. I've used this same recipe to make pickled carrots, radishes, and my favorite, pickled onions!
What kind of onions do you use?
Purple onions, they're so pretty!
Fantastic on a burger too! I pickle tomato slices for burgers. So good.

I very much like the knife you are slicing cucumbers with. What kind and size is it, if you would.
I'll definitely try this, quick question, I bought a Mccormick pickle jar mix, can I use it on this?

Hi!👋Can you reuse the “juice” after the first batch of pickles is gone?
Thank you very much for this tasty and easy pickle recipe. As soon as I watched your video I made two jars, 6 fat dill pickles and a quarter long cucumber. Luckily I had a bundle fresh dill at home. However I put the dill at the top of the jar' then poured the vinegar and hot water. After one hour I will remove them and put fresh dills again.
And also I divided the vinegar sauce into two jars and topped my 1 lt jars with hot water. My second mistake) I will write the outcome result after one night fridge time.
Regards from Canada.
Alright, I tasted my pickles. It really tastes very delicious. Thanks again.
I’ve been looking, but can’t find water added to this recipe anywhere. You said you poured vinegar and hot water. Appreciate any help. Thanks!
Love the video and how simple you made it look. Are they on the sweet side?
No, but strong vinegar taste. If I make them again i think I will dilute the vinegar some.
This actually looks easy! I will buy some cucumbers to do this.. also can i ditch the dill?
Hello.
Do I pour warm liquid to the cucumbers or it has to be room temperature first? Thanks.
Ohhh yesssss💞
Hi new sub here 👋, wondering if you have a good Saskatoon pie filling (making from scratch) recipe?
Nice
Thank you for all your information.
I am new at all of this. What about other kinds of vinegar besides white vinegar? Wine vinegar, Rice vinegar, Balsamic vinegar, etc?
Thank you.
Thanks for the info what size mason jars are those
love the recipe and to the point presentation. a few family members thot mine was too vinegary, will that dissipate some after several days or should I add some water to the recipe? thanks.
I added water - about 3/4 c but I just made them so no results yet but I saw other recipes the had even more.
Love pickles
Sterilize the jars/lids? Like this recipe, thanks for sharing.
Lovely presentation. Does powdered black pepper work?
Just made these pickles , they are delicious. I won't be buying dill pickles any more .
Can that recipe be used for tomatoes or cauliflower or pickled corn? I have fond memories of my grandparents having a garden.
I would like to get into preserving garden foods ,you see I have successfully grown a small garden this summer, looking forward to next year.... Love your show by the way.
Yup! When I pickle different items, I use the same base recipe and make slight adjustments to the flavor profiles.
