@@OneAV8 Mine is the MK4 speed wing, the 582 is ok, but noisy. Mine tends to fly slightly nose up, so I add a couple of degrees of flapperons. The Ivo prop seems to work well, its a large dia at 72”, so good for take off, but only getting about 70/75 knots cruise. Just found your channel, and really enjoying it.
@stevenstyles7602 mine wants to fly nose down if I’m empty, so I always fly with a little weight in the tail. One of the things I like about the Jabiru is how quiet it is. I’m glad you found the channel!
@@OneAV8 I noticed in one of your videos, you did a wheeler landing, I physically can’t do that. Always 3 point or tail wheel first. Did you see my link for the image of my aircraft? The photo was taken by a plane spotter at the U.K. annual LAA rally.
I just imagine the what if. If I accidentally hooked up the tire skimming the water. What if I nosed into the water. What would it do to my airplane, my self. The thrill is worth the risk? Not for me. Bold pilots and old pilots and crippled bold pilots
I understand the question. I think you truly have to make a personal decision. Given the technique and physics, I feel comfortable with a water ski, but I’d be scared to death to do aerobatics. The guy that does aerobatics may not be willing to ski. I agree, you have to consider the what if’s and make a decision based on that.
@@OneAV8 Once I water skied a bit, some years ago, and figured out it's pretty easy, I now do it rarely. I used it once for landing super short on a sandbar, not really thinking it thru...., while the water approach helped me land short, once on the bar, the takeoff, NEEDED the water to get airborne, and while it was no problem, it just wasn't worth a bit of stress! The biggest reason I rarely do it in my RANS S-7S is watefowl, they always get in the way!
Yes, the waterfowl can be tricky! We don’t have much of a problem with them where we fly, but I could see it being an issue in a more waterfowl populated area.
Just received my new hat, thanks! I love it and happy to support the adventures of a fellow aviator.
I’m glad you like it brother! 😎 Thanks for all the support- we have been flying a lot lately so I hope to be able to share some of our adventures.
You got a little mud on those tires awesome
😂 yeah- I landed where it was dry only to taxi where it wasn’t 🤣
Great video I think you might be the next RUclips star keep it up
Hey, I appreciate that! I enjoy sharing our adventures through these videos. We’re having a big time!
Like the better value trent palmer! lover the videos
😂 Trent Palmer on a budget…. That’s me 😂! Glad you’re enjoying- we’re having a big time down here 🤙
Great video buddy. Loved those shots of water skiing. Great job 💪👍
Thanks brother 🤙. Water skiing beside each other coming down the river was awesome! 😎
I have an avid here in uk, same colour as yours with a 582.
That’s cool! I have the Jabiru 2200, and I love it!
I fly an Avid here in UK, with 582.
3 blade Ivo prop.
How do you like the Ivo prop??

@stevenstyles7602 I didn’t see the link?? I do 3 point landings 99% of the time, but usually just to get slow and stopped short.
