- The mayoral election is exactly one month away and the deadline for voter registration is creeping up on us.
Londoners have two more weeks, until midnight on Tuesday April 16th, to register to vote.
There have been some major changes since the last London mayor election in 2021. From a new voting system to needing photographic ID, here’s a breakdown of everything you need to know.

Scrapped a half decent voting system in favour for even more fptp. i was hoping to actually vote for who i want but now im just gonna have to vote to keep the tories out. great.

I’m a Labour supporter and I weirdly feel the same way. I want it to be shown on the record that Khan is my first choice, not that I merely prefer him to the Tory candidate.

Did anyone read in the standard that the next mayor should pay REFUGEES HOUSING DEPOSIT, this country is so fking BACKWARDS. The homeless are not refugees but the people you kicked out to house refugees and also where is the deposit for people who paid tax and were BORN in this country.
You made no mention of the final date you can register, nor did you mention how people who are unable to physically get to a voting station can vote .

I feel sick to my core and my brain of the state London is in I don’t care who wins as long as Khan the greens or the Lib Dem’s don’t get voted in I will feel better and more optimistic about the state my country is in!

as a pakistani british citizen , i've seen this place turn from being looked up at to being clowned on, i will be voting for Nick Scanlon, this is a christian country and even as an ex-muslin i don't think that should change.

You don't have any independant proof whatsoever of a cleaner environment then. 40% of 40% = 16% = a shoddy mandate for making people poorer for no reason.

Only in central london was there any benefit years ago, and the current mayor did not do that. There is no independent or any proof that the mayors 'expansion' has improved air quality at all. It was predicted it might' make 1% difference at best by the Jacobs report. Fact is, 80% of greater london pollution does not come from cars, so if you take 5% of (20% pollution) cars off the road as the mayor has done you get 1% improvement at best. That's assuming you can even measure 1%... hence you will not have any 'proof' that i asked for anywhere. You are completely wrong to think the expansion helps air quality. You have been truly lied to my friend, but don't feel bad, that's politics, not science. The only thing the expansion has done is make the poorest people poorer, stopped carers, and old people seeing their family's, and damaged local business. It all about control. In time you will understand this. Good luck.
