Here’s an older 2001 video I did a few years ago. It’s your typical full cycle alert test, so nothing special. But this was before some radio upgrades were made to the system. There was no FSK polling and the Model 7 was still running off a legacy telephone relay. The most obvious problem is that it skipped the first set of tones, but luckily activated on round 2 and left a nice ambience. This is probably one of the last times it ran the attack signal via land line.
You can find this siren at the end of N Geiger Street. It’s easy to spot off 231 and is the first 2001 siren I’ve ever heard up close. When I was looking at some old articles, the intention was the city was going to replace it with a "voice-capable" unit and move this siren head elsewhere. But they ended up just getting a new -130 and sticking it in the more industrial part of town.
With the exclusion of Jasper, sirens in Dubois County are tested every first day of the month at 6pm for a full cycle. Tests may get canceled or postponed if severe weather is expected or occurring.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!

Cool 😎 Shot Of The Federal Signal 2001-SRN
phenomenal work!
I live in Lawrence ks and these sirens are in Lawrence. Hearing 3 of these sirens makes it creepy. On April 30th, 2024 I was in a tornado warning I heard like 5 of these sirens it sounded creepy
Awesome Video Brandon, also, you gonna be Storm chasing in Kentucky tomorrow?
Beautiful 2001 ambience
These videos are awesome
My town has 5 2001-130s and one eclipse 8. I love hearing them go off.
Amazing ambience, since you tend to do Southern Indiana, I recommend going somewhere in Ripley County, I’ve never seen anyone record there before.
We have a 2001-130 on US 60 that meets with 41 that is pitched up in Henderson. Quite interesting to hear actually.
RIP for the guys ears while trimming weeds before the sirens went off.
This is odd to ask, but can I use your thumbnail only, just the thumbnail nothing else. If you say know I completely understand.
It’s super scary
Is Dubois co Indiana an automatic siren system? 1:23
What microphone do you use?
Même bruit d’un 2001 130
Can you make a video on how to tune into the dtmf tones on a scanner
Depends on the scanner
Whats that in the background doing attack? It sounds 3 phase.
That siren at central Huntingburg is a model 7. This was recorded before the siren broke down and got fixed.
@@jcjohnson7066 thanks
4th gen SRN.
3rd*
@@HSETM The third generation SRN has 4 screws on the motor cover, while the fourth generation SRN has one.
@@blockthesirenenthusiast I thought one of the differences were the logo as well.
@@HSETM nah you’re thinking of the SRNB
@@indymetrosirens5643 one of my favorite series of 2001s, honestly I could really care less about the Generation it is(Unless it's the 1st and second gen ones)
