The compositions for this game were great actually, and this song is one of the many examples of that. It's very dramatic, somehow melancholic. It's a shame that the sound programmers weren't able to execute the musical ideas properly.
I think that part of it is really just lowering the pieces an octave, and making some of the notes more on key. It’s why almost every remix is lower than the OG
As I understand it, this game only had maybe a year at the most for development. It was released a little more than a year after Wily's revenge, 13-14 months or so. I could be wrong and admittedly haven't looked into it too far. But I agree the music, and other aspects of the game could've been more polished.
@@luisjogos821 Damn. Yeah, I noticed the sound engine has this audible issue where the BGM alters depending on the most recent sound effect. -Buster shot sfx makes the BGM flat; -Landing sfx made it sound open or normal -Enemy damage or destruction sfx give it what I call the "tang" (or perhaps sharp for lack of better terms) sound, sounds very asiatic. This is kind of rare in occurrence compared to the other two. Some definitely needed a lowered pitch on some parts, others were okay as they were. At least I think so.
@@DangerWrap well, it’s probably just due to Cut Man not appearing to have ears (because if you ask me, those things on the side of his head look like weird hooks)
@Byronic Fate It was definitely a mistake in programming; the songs were composed fine, but they programmed the songs too high. You can find pitch-corrected and NES versions of this song on RUclips.
It's because this game was rushed horribly and not only does it show in the gameplay and visuals, but the most broken part was the soundtrack that wasn't even implemented properly. If you ask me, i like the broken versions better
It sucks that capcom never put these on any of their mm collections. You got castlevania and contra that have GB versions but capcom refuses to put their game boy ports of their mm games onto their collections.
There was gonna be a GBA compilation of the Gameboy Megaman games that was supposed to release alongside Mega Man Anniversary Collection, but it was cancelled for some reason.
with the black and white limitations of the game boy, combined with the sad tone of the music, it made me think that this level is currently within a thunderstorm.
The high pitch does NOT bother me. I LOVE this soundtrack!

either my ears work different from yours or your ears just lack imagination ^^

@@GTA2SWcity it was made in *5. Months.* The sound programmer was probably so short on time that they couldn't fix the sound mistake.

This game has an amazing soundtrack. The creator is a fucking genius.
The music from Gameboy Mega Man 2 is the only music in Mega Man history that gives me a mild headache. I'm not joking either, it actually does!
Choke on it
The only megaman game I played as a kid, and my favorite stage and music by far !
Same, I used to play this game a lot when I was young. I honestly despised the game, but I did enjoy the music.
oh, Airman's GameBoy version theme is actually alright, I li--
0:35 - OH HELP MY EARS WHY IS THIS PART SO HIGH-PITCHED AAAAAAAAAAAAGH
my ears are fine on that part
@@cutman3931 I feel a bit uncomfortable hearing that.
@@DangerWrap well, it’s probably just due to Cut Man not appearing to have ears (because if you ask me, those things on the side of his head look like weird hooks)
@@cutman3931 yeah for me the only really bad sounding one is crash man theme
My ears are fine on that part too.
THIS ONE IS BETTER THAN THE ORIGINAL FROM NES!
Definitely, the Air man theme of the nes is so basic, but this tune is great
Ah yes, I love ear piercing music too
No
You can't defeat Airman on the NES
This theme is good, even if it is shit.
@@bird5109 it's not shit it's airman
Nes version is like the musical embodiment of "no" and this one is the musical embodiment of "yes"
explain
And this comment is like the embodiment of "truth"
I love this track. I had it on repeat as a child.
Me too 😂
This would be amazing if it was one octave lower.
@Byronic Fate It was definitely a mistake in programming; the songs were composed fine, but they programmed the songs too high. You can find pitch-corrected and NES versions of this song on RUclips.
Now there's a hack that fixes this. Hallelujah!
@Byronic Fate I did one lol
@Byronic Fate So what a cute mistake!
even if it's broken it sounds perfect to me
I like the music
I agree
Same, this tune is great.
i always wondered why for rockman world 2 for GB why the music was so different yet so good
It's because this game was rushed horribly and not only does it show in the gameplay and visuals, but the most broken part was the soundtrack that wasn't even implemented properly. If you ask me, i like the broken versions better
this game's music is perfect as is. The melodies are nice.

@@filipedias7284 the only part in the song i don't outright love
I played this game again back in March. The soundtrack was so sad that it didn't make me feel good...
Still a great masterpiece today thanks to the composer
Also
Bubble man theme + Air man theme =
Bubblair man theme.
Imagine if this version was in the NES one.Tbh not a fan of the nes tune.An 8 bit would sound good.Luckily dr.wilys stage theme still holds up.
airman and clashman themes on Rockman world II are the bestQ
I like wood man's theme from the GB!
...and your comment is 6 years old
I agree. those are the only soundtrack I remember til now.
I like this a lot
same
i love both themes of megaman 2 nes and gb but i love this one more than the other :))
This and the Title Screen are the only musics in this game I do kinda like.
I agree with you, the high pitch sounds destroys the soundtrack for me.
Lite 64 wood man's theme too.
I like every song in the game except Top Man,Boss theme, and Quint Stage
A bit repetitive, but it rocks! Love this one!
I have the Japanese version of this game (wich is the exact same other than it's called Rockman II) and the nostalgia hits me so hard :D
Its called Rockman World 2
It sucks that capcom never put these on any of their mm collections. You got castlevania and contra that have GB versions but capcom refuses to put their game boy ports of their mm games onto their collections.

This is like, so much better than the NES version.
i dont get that sick humor.
Dan Ogg I wasn't trying to be funny.
+Yoshifreak2000 well that's a pretty bad joke, regardless
+TheOnlyGBeast That's not even a joke!
TheOnlyGBeast I wasn't trying to make a joke.
I'm dead serious.
The melody almost kinda sounds like something out of Touhou
THIS SOUNDS LIKE BUBBLEMAN'S THEME!
Believe it or not, this is actually a remix of Bubbleman's stage theme.
@@sleekflash16 *_H o w ?_*
@@ddduv I just sorta hear it in there. Compare the two and hopefully you'll see.
i like this more than the nes air man theme. to me, this is the true air man theme
RushJet1's cover was better, to be honest.
This is the best track in a game where all the music was garbage.
I find Hard Man and Metal Man's themes to be good too, but yeah, RushJet1's covers were awesome.
NO SHIT HIS COVERS FOR ALL THESE ARE BETTER
I think i heard the first 40 seconds of this song more than anyone else on the planet. I was 6-7 when I played it and good lord it was too hard
with the black and white limitations of the game boy, combined with the sad tone of the music, it made me think that this level is currently within a thunderstorm.
why is every song in this game so S A D
this music rocks
*you could say it's fitting for rockman*
Air man's work out montage
Tragic music
gusic
Classic!
Too awesome!
This music is nowhere close to the one on the NES but I love it
The best one
Prime example of a great soundtrack but whoever was in charge of converting the tracks to GB format did a terrible job
This song's been in my head for the past 2 weeks help
Im 30 and its been in my head since 10 yrs old
It's frickin' Bubble Man's theme! They just raised the pitch a whole lot and pretended like we wouldn't notice!
Except it's not.
I can understand that, the songs are pretty similar
Sounds a little like wind man at 0:32
Goblins:
Help.
Air
It's either Bubble Man's theme or Quick Man's theme.
Bubble Man sounds fair.
This is the only good song in the game.
🤖 vs 💨
Good composition
Horrible implementation
wow this is like bubble man stage
I like this song!
Ehhh it’s alright
Ahahah...and those songs are not good??
Metalman, Needleman, Hardman, Wily Station...
